  1. I see that right at this moment my server, Jung Ma, says "HEAVY." To me, that term seems very arbitrary, and I have no idea what that means. I understand that it means that there are "a lot" of people on my server. But what exactly does "HEAVY" constitute? If I don't know what the parameters of the server statuses are, it means nothing to me. All I know that HEAVY is more than STANDARD. Does anyone have the answer? Perhaps a link to a Dev post?
  2. /agreed. I don't understand why the timer is there, but I will say that it is most certainly annoying.
  3. Also, I don't see anything in here about Legacy Datacron unlocks. Meaning one you get a Datacron on one character, it unlocks for all of them.
  4. Found this Via THIS THREAD. These are great ideas. I don't agree with all of them, but they're still all great. Wonderful compilation. Great work.
  5. ^Love these two. Great ideas. I would also like to push for a Legacy Cargo Hold. Legacy of Commendation (legacy unlock, not character perk) All characters in your legacy now share planetary commendations. (Excludes daily commendations, and commendations from the opposing faction.) Unlock Requirements: Requires Legacy Level 40 -or- Purchase requirements: 2,000,000 credits A little overpowered, but I still think it's a neat idea. No. They're not. This is people being creating and just spitballing ideas that they would like to see in the game. Brainstorming. This is how the forums should be. Don't knock people being creative just because they're being semi-realistic.
  6. Have you met the internet? Not really the "forgive and forget, hey I understand you made a mistake, take your time" kind of bunch. They're a "Hey, you obscurely said this 27 days ago, why hasn't it happened yet?!!!"
  7. My first character was the Jedi consular. Many think the story is boring because it has too much diplomacy and not enough action, but I think it's the opposite. The first chapter is great. It's all about seeking knowledge. After that it just goes downhill. I feel more like an errand girl than a diplomat. I have no choice in anything I do. It's just blah. And the ending was boring. Finished the final boss at 48, with myself and my companion undergeared. I just finished Ch. 1 of the Imp Agent story, and I can already tell it's awesome. Intriguing, interesting, with HUGE difficult moral decisions. Love it. I've also done the first ch. of the Inquisitors storyline. It's okay. It's kinda fun being pure evil, but other than that, it's kinda average. I'm also in the first chapter of the BH storyline. The story itself isn't all that interesting or new, but it's the characters that make it good. Mako is a fabulous little spitfire, and I like Chysta. Edit: I also had a JK that I got to chapter two. Ended up deleting her cause I was bored with it and wanted to start over. It's meh. Kira's the only interesting thing about it. It's exactly how you would expect a Knight's story to go.
  8. No matter how much Dev interaction there is, there's always going to be speculation. And you have to remember, the biggest problem with a game company (especially MMO's) giving you information on something before they are sure of it themselves is that they will get reemed if they say something and it ends up being otherwise. So I understand their hesitation to tell us anything. Allison is not talking to us as Allison, she is talking to us as BW, and anything she says that is not an absolute, she could get in trouble for.
  9. I...I wasn't being childish. I was actually saying "Thank you." No sarcasm. With all the whining out there about BW not talking to it's customers (I will admits, sometimes I am one of those whiners) It's nice when a Dev posts in a forum to just let you know that they actually hear you, even if they don't have answers at the time.
  10. There is a direct BW post. It's just on another thread cause there are dozens of these thread talking about the same thing. I wouldn't post on every single thread either, if I was BW.

  12. I have trouble keeping track of Black Talon or Esseles affection guides when they are just numbers (I'm guessing other people might have the same problem, as well), and I could not find an expanded version of one for Mako, so I made one myself. I have the first two ranks of Legacy of Persuasion (which adds 20% affection points gained in conversation), so I get +556 per run (when going Lightside). If you have the cash and the Legacy level (5 for rank 1, 10 for rank 2, 15 for rank 3) I would suggest you pick it up. They'll save you some time. I was running this with my level 19 Powertech. It's a pretty easy run that takes about 20 minutes if you skip all the mobs you can. And if you have a speeder, remember that you can actually ride it in most of Black Talon. 13. From: Link here. They're workin' on it.
  14. Another way to lessen the money sink annoyance would be to reduce the price of installing the augment kit if you already have a kit in the piece of gear. Meaning if I already have a MK-1 Augment kit in my gear, it costs 1500 credits instead of 2500 to put in a MK-2. Not perfect, but certainly better than it is now.
  15. Only thing wrong with this theory is that I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the people that are transferring to this "new server" have names that aren't wildly original. There's going to be some overlap. What do you do in that instance?
  16. Now, I don't personally have some great attachment to my names, but I do understand the people who do. I think it's a little bit asinine, but I understand it/ HOWEVER: This is an MMO. While I was on my server, I was pretty much playing a single player game. And I wanted an MMO experience. I changed servers so I could have that. Because I wanted to play the game. Now I'm seeing people in the forums constantly whining because they have to change their names, when their aversion to changing their name is preventing them from playing the game how it's supposed to be played. Would you really play on a dead server for the rest of eternity simply because you couldn't get you name? That is so vastly unreasonable. Honestly, I wish BW would just let all the whiners who don't want to change their names stay on their old servers. That way they could be so proud of their original name where absolutely no one can see it. I don't really think you should get rewarded for dragging you heels till your server literally gets shut down and then look at BW with big sad eyes and say "Well, how are you going to help me?"
  17. I'm also not talking about money-making in this. I'm talking about just the skills themselves. If there are no real perks to crafting, then what's the point to having any crafting skills? There aren't any incentives. Is there anything other than money? Because I don't really see it. this is going to sound snobby, but it's not meant to be. I always thought crafting shouldn't just be about the money, it should also be about customizing your character.
  18. @Elyx.: I'm not going to paste your quote because it would cause unnecessary bulk. But you're right. I love the system SWTOR has of REing items. That's the best thing I've seen in an MMO. Honestly, I wasn't even really thinking of the crafting process itself. I used WoW as an example because I haven't played that many MMOs and I did enjoy the system as a whole. But you are right. I think that both WoW and Star Wars have the same problem though. Unless you are crafting the purple for every level range, it usually just ends up being easier to just get gear from Comms and FPs, atleast that's the case for me. I try to stay well ahead of my level in my crafting but I still end up over leveled by the time I get the purple recipes. So crafting the BoE items doesn't seem to have much of a point to me, unless I'm making them for my companions ^Valid point. But I wasn't talking about crafting specifically. I was talking about all crew skills. I just couldn't come up with any good perks for gathering and missions skills. But I do understand your point. Some people are happy to be consumers, and that's great, and should be taken into account. I really like that last idea there. Leveling up an item (it would have to have a max level, of course) Would be great. It would be kinda similiar to REing items, but kind of a step up. Interesting. That's an interesting way to go about it, but Iike it. I would seriously boost the economy if items had a decay on them. Not sure how it would work with end-game raiding though.
  19. From: Star Wars: The Old Republic Friends Trial Reward If you're referring to recruiting someone via word-of-mouth... I really don't know what you can expect. Unless you recruited them in official ways, there's really no way for BW to tell. Sorry.
  20. I never played SWG, so I don't know what you mean. Explain?
  21. I love Alderaan. For three reasons: 1.) The music is wonderful 2.) It seems to be the only planet in the game that has varrying environments (snow and grasslands) 3. I genuinely enjoy the questlines of the warring houses. I also like Voss because I like the planet (it's pretty) and I find the people interesting. I don't like Corelia or Taris, purely because they're both a pain to get around in. Corelia with it's roads, and Taris with it's...Taris-ness. I'm going to have to do Taris again now that I can get a speeder at 10 though. I like the storyline on Taris, so maybe I'll find it more enjoyable.
  22. I would really like for choices to matter more in the game. I heard when I started out that on a certain class, if you chose to save people instead of kill them, they would help you with your final boss battle. I have yet to learn if it's true or not, but I'm guessing it's a no. I hate to bring up ME3, but that's kind of what it reminds me of. You made all these choices, throughout 3 games, hundreds of hours of playtime, and....nada. The ending doesn't change one bit based on those decisions. I'm not so much displeased with the linearity IN the planets as I am with the linearity OF the planets. Meaning, I'm fine that once I'm on planet, it's pretty linear. I just hate how it's the same order of planets for every single class. There is no change. That bothers me. I have a feeling that will be fixed though. You usually get one good companion story per class. And it's usually one of your first characters. With the JK, it's Kira, with the JC, it's Qyzen. Mako for the BH, and so forth. While I'm not super happy with it, I do understand what that is, and I'm okay with it. As for the battle system, I like it. It has always seemed just fine with me.
