  1. Back in my day *shakes walking cane* the small planet specific ones were handed out by NPCs, not a terminal. That's what I meant. I can find the terminals, no worries, but I'd like to do it the old-fashioned way and march up to the NPCs for some, just to get a little bit more dialogue and atmosphere. If you want to help a little more dr_mike, locate me this individual: He used to be in the Salvaged camp on Hutta. Good luck finding him. He's well acted and has an interesting story. For as far as I can see, Bioware removed him.
  2. After a 5 year break from SWTOR, I've re-subbed just recently. For whatever flaws SWTOR had, I remembered some of the quests fondly and wanted to re-roll and do the entire storyline for some of the classes all over again. One very memorable quest, was "Man with the Steel Voice" I can fondly remember Geric, the pitiful old man with the raspy voice who turned out to be quite devious in the end. Well, I can't find Geric anymore! I can pick up the quest in the new terminals, but when I do, the next dialogue is with a Twi'Lek who tells me I shouldn't be listening to the "old man". Makes no sense if I haven't even been given the chance to talk to him. Writing this thread to inform Bioware that they've misplaced Geric. Unless someone knows where he is, I'd like the Heroic Quest givers to be implemented within the game again. Geric was awesome.
  3. I love your solution in the second paragraph. Thanks for the reply. As for there not being a new RP server? As long as Bioware adopts your above solution and I have a fair shot at keeping my name, I think I can stomach the change in enviroment. I'll be too happy to have kept my legacy and first names to care.
  4. This question and its (rethorical) answer is in the same vein as transfering 2 full families of 8 played characters on dead servers to a single origin server (Not enough room), but it's only made worse as I observe that there's likely only going to be a single, English European RP server left after the merger. It's easy to see what the English, European Destination servers are going to be. Minus my dead servers, everything else is locked and only these servers will remain: Nightmare Lands (PvE), Red Eclipse (PvE), Tomb of Freedon Nadd (PvP), The Progenitor (RP) I count only one RP server; the kind of which I'm fond of. Bioware states that RP servers get transfered to RP servers, PVE to PVE and PVP to PVP, but what if you have 2 families? Are they going to force one into a non-RP server? I'm holding hope that Bioware is going to make the split second decision to keep one extra RP server open. (Namely, mine, the once second most crowded.) Losing names is hardly barable. Getting transfered into a whole different enviroment is simply icing on the ****cake. I've finally decided to transfer one of my families to the progenitor, just to see how Bioware is going to manouvre around that one and not allow them to make the choice for me.
  5. Urgh... The giggles remind me of the laughter of children... pisses me off something aweful. I can't abide by it! Makes me reach for the nearest hose on instinct. On a more serious note: /signed
  6. I was going for a Jedi Knight , Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter and Trooper set-up, but as I played the last two heavy blaster classes side by side, I realized there's only so many ways you can mortar your enemies before it grows dull. I'm not going to do faction mirror classes and when the choice is between Trooper and BHunter, I'm going for the BH. I'm going to take your advice and concider the consular Qarran! Maybe it's not so bad... Thanks! I'm looking forward to wielding a saberstaff. However, anyone know how Consular compares to Inquisitor? 28 days left and three of my four chosen classes are lvl 35! Wish me luck. You quote me the sentence where I said my names were about being unique or original in this thread, then get back to me.
  7. Thanks for the tip! I'll try the trooper... and perhaps further my lvl 30 Jedi Knight on Republic side then. Nah, wrong analogy. Also, I'm not done playing MMO's. Here's the right metaphore: Ever since the two local starbucks merged together, I can't find my favorite table anymore/ other customers are already sitting there since it became twice as crowded. Since then, I don't visit it anymore. I loved that spot to the point I didn't even care about the coffee! It had a nice view of the street and it was very sunny. It inspired me creatively to write, or actually do my homework. Instead, I go to Uncle Carlos down the street... that quint little cafe ran by a genuine family of Colombian immigrants. I was always curious about that since I heard they're fair trade and they have a sunny table too! Besides, there's less chance of corperate mergers when it concerns a family owned bar. Nobody said anything about bombing starbucks. Very good point. That's the other reason why I won't resub. SWTOR's mortality is kinda obvious right now, with forced name changes the most glaring sympton of that ailment. There's little point in putting so much time leveling a game when it might not be around next year (as I knew it). Still, it's about the story. Right now, I'm looking at it like a Single Player game I spend about 80 euros on. Why would I want to play a single player game? Because the ride to the ending is enjoyable. Games like Mass Effect 1 & 2 stood me by way beyond the date of purchase, because of the yarn. So will SWTOR I suspect, because I'm having fun. Just like a single player game however, I won't keep paying for it. If I wanted to do that, the product would have to satisfy more of my demands.
  8. Hey there. After a 4 month hiatus, I've resubbed and although my server is dead, I'm having a lot of fun continueing the class storylines. I'm sensitive to that sort of stuff: details, astmosphere, stories. This also means that I won't continue my subscription after they cancel my server and force me to give up the detail of my chosen names (There's always youtube and I'm a discerning customer with his own wishlist who realizes it's just a game. ), but it's still fun enough for me to maximize my enjoyment for as long as it will last. Which Storyline should I finish? I'm currently doing bounty hunter. I love the independance and the ability to say no to Sith lords barking orders and demand credits instead. I've heard good thing about the Imperial agent too and making headway with my lvl 32 sniper, but I'm also looking for a good Republic storyline. Smuggler has been boring me to tears though. Can anyone tell me which class storylines are the better ones and why, so I can tell if they'd match my tastes? Looking forward to finishing all that I still can!
  9. In WoW, when someone transfers or deletes their character, they are automatically removed from your friends list. The next time you log on, the system tells you that "player is not found" and automatically removes them from your list. I received no such notification from SWTOR, but my lists are still filled with the greyed out names of people I knew on my deserted origin server. What does that mean? I'm trying to figure out after coming back to the game after 4 months, how many of the people I know are still on the server, have transfered or have kept playing at all. Does a massive grey list of people who never log back on, mean that they've all stuck around the server but simply aren't playing anymore? Or have they simply transfered? If it's the former, it's kindof a depressing sign.
  10. Could not agree more. Basically the entire point to my post. I'll just pack and not complain. I might hand over a solution, but I'm not that bothered. Do note, that your rational to MMO's isn't that hardline. I've never been forced to change names on WoW or Guild Wars.
  11. Now that, I think, is genius. On a completely new server, this avoids doing a similar injustice to those origin players. I'm going to put that up right now.
  12. In real life, that's common knowledge. For a major business dealing with customers, that's a bad business desicion that will cost them. Institutions created by people, do tend to apply some manner of equality. There's a difference. And are you quite done making personal attacks? I can't recall ever doing you harm and neither do I intent to.
  13. Oh, I took his criticism, what there was to be found in a "you're exaggerating and I know better" post. It's just that my merits for playing the game are different from his. He made a point. It's just one that I don't care enough about the game to see past a forced name change. Perhaps I was a little curt. What I mean to say with "don't try to debate me" was: "S'allright, but don't bother putting in that much energy into debating, because even though I understand where you're coming from, my motivations are different if you're trying to approach it from that angle." Last one is a bit of a mouthfull though. And I in turn, think your attempt to read and disconstruct my intent, are rude. He had a point, you're just trying to inflame. But I don't intent to take it further than that. Let's stay civil. You may be right. I'm not the most loyal customer when I'm willing to quit on such a small note. Like I said in one of my replies, if this is what is neccesary to keep the game enjoyable for all others out there, I hope it will do well. I'm just giving my customer's opinion to any and all community managers who stroll by. And thank you, I won't let the door hit me on the way out. Is it one of those automatic models with a spring that's too tight? I never quit got that expression. I for one, intent to leave with no animosity whatsoever.
  14. NOOOO! WHY DOESN'T IT GET ANY EASIER! Oh well, elegent cress sandwiches at the funeral it is then. Omnomnom! The whole point of a pre-order was not having to be creative.
  15. You misinterpret the points. Those are the ones that I RETRACTED. I completely agree with your assesment. My layout has been fixed now.
