  1. I was just thinking about that the other day after I saw the upcoming PvP patch notes. Really looking forward to that. I really wish they would implement the same gear check principal for HM flashpoints. Recently saw a commando with 32k HP rolling DPS in Battle of Rishi HM. I know HP isn't an exact way to measure gear since several years ago a sage with 9k hp easily healed Directive 7 HM, but it truly is a rough indicator as to how well a player is geared. Perhaps gear checks for HM level cap flashpoints will eventually be implemented.
  2. Granted HM Blood Hunt is not longer as crazy as it was, it still carries its infamy. Even after its fights have been nerfed and made easier, players continue to leave group once they realize that BH was the flashpoint that popped. I personally have no fear of the flashpoint, my toons are all very well geared. Needless to say, most other players that I've come across don't feel the same. I remember quite sometime ago, when level cap was 50 I think, a player could queue for only a select number of flashpoints. E.G. 4/5 flashpoints and still get the daily reward. However, players can no longer get away with the daily reward if they queue for eg 4/5 flashpoints. They have to queue for all of them. It's a bit of a thorn to have to wait 10 minutes, maybe more because most players will drop once they see Blood Hunt HM, and any replacement that joins will also drop. It's even more of a pain if you're a DPS (which I rarely play) because DPS are far more common and get group pops far fewer times than healers and tanks. Not complaining, merely stating an idea I thought was very good. However, there should be a minimum number of flashpoints a player can queue for and still get the daily reward. Such as 3/5 = no daily reward; 4/5 OR 5/5 = daily reward granted.
  3. I was just wondering if anyone has tried stacking alacrity augments on companions. Reason why would be to reduce the cooldowns of abilities. Therefore allowing them to do more attacks more frequently. Would this be a worthwhile investigation?
  4. Enjoying the new 55 classic op Group Finder Queue. Easy ops, literally a breeze to get through them with new level cap/gear. Nevertheless, formation of such can sometimes take longer than expected. Reason being, I think, is because many players have become accustom to what they want to notice and what they want to ignore. Almost, if not entirely, on a subconscious level. This can be as simple as expanding all the little acronyms like: LFM - Looking for more Players would simply ignore the expanded version and only search for the acronym version of such. Or vice versus. Sort of like a "Search the webpage" hotkey that allows you to instantly search all words on a page. You can type "looking for more" but no options will come up. HOWEVER, that doesn't say it's not on the page. If you type "lfm" you'll maybe find half a dozen cases. Such is the same, in my opinion, when it comes to formation of Operation Groups. Players will only notice such a group formation if the chat queues match the predetermined "search parameters" in their mind. I highly doubt that 200 players across 2+ instances, some with 1+ number of alternate toons, simply "don't want to pug" an incredibly easy op. I believe there are many players that want to, but simply don't notice the prompts in chat My solution, advertise differently. LF7M LFM LFM ALL ROLES LFM #dps, #heals, #tanks Forming [insert Op Here] LFM [insert Op Here] All Roles etc, etc I've found that advertising differently has lead to faster formation of operations than continually using the exact previous prompt earlier.
  5. I see what you're saying and I do agree. However, there can be exceptions. Though rare I might add. For instance, lets say that the original event where these two types of gear were offered for sale lasted a week. Lets also consider that a player (or several) were planning on getting the containment gear. That being said, they experienced technical difficulties regarding internet and/or connecting to the servers and playing the game. They had every intent and put forth every required resource to get these sets of armor, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they were prevented. In my case, when this event launched, I was still new to the game and didn't realize that there were "events". I had absolutely no idea what was going on. In this case, I think it's simply unfair and a major inconsistency to allow all other achievements to be completed except these two. It makes little sense when I look at it that way
  6. As I was scrolling through the many achievement lists in the legacy panel, looking for a possible legacy title few other players have, I came across the "Sharp Dresser" title. That looks kinda cool. Fairly easy to get too. Just buy a bunch of social gear (Current toon is at max social), get the achievement for said set of gear, then sell it back. Pretty simple, easy, and affordable. Well, not really. I got the the Republic Officer Containment Gear and I immediately recognized it. I have no idea where to find it. I am also very confident it is no longer available to be purchased. With these new rakghoul events, I cannot believe that this gear is no longer available. Why on earth would Bioware have an achievement that cannot be completed no matter how much coordination, time, effort, and strategy you put forth. In short, it's an impossible achievement to obtain the gear set (nowadays it is) unless there is a hidden vendor that sells it. I haven't seen it. I might just make a ticket and ask for the gear. Straight up aha.
  7. Okay, I know this has been addressed before, but it's back to beating the dead horse. Again Bioware, I really hope you can see this. You've had a very long while to pull your head out of where the sun don't shine. I almost considered putting this in Customer Service since this obvious and most irritating thorn is dropping my level of "fun" that I get from the game I pay for, from 100% to 90% Seriously, you need to fix the AOE mechanics on Shield Squadron One in Battle of Rishi HM. Even with groups that know what they're doing, have more than ample gear (mostly 192s and 198s) [being far better than the "recommended 178s] these premades and pugs are still getting massacred. We do the textbook definition of taking a boss down and somehow the tank with defensive cooldowns popped, still dies for 35k hits. Also, everyone runs out of the AOEs. Call me old fashion but I think we're supposed to do that. Even so, we still get hit with orbital laser and missile strikes. WHAT IS THE POINT OF MOVING OUT OF THE AOES?????? I really wanted to post this in Customer Service so these lazy, cheeto gorging, mountain dew loving, black turds could actually see this. I bet they're snickering as they read this and stuffing their mouths with more hotpockets as they dump another dozen into the microwave in their private office watching their cartel market profits increase. But I digress. Please, fix these issues. You've had more than enough time. But I'm really really really really really glad we have reskinned gear, mounts, pets, and weapons on the Cartel Market. Sometimes you gotta yell at people to do stuff
  8. So I'm trying to get a set of DPS pvp gear aside from the healing set I have. Mostly if I think there will be other healers queuing up. However, as I'm trying to make every warzone comm count, I see that the DPS set has healer stats in it. Mostly alacrity in this case. Yeah, alacrity supposedly increases resource regeneration, but I don't think it will be very effective in this case. Why exactly does dps gear have alacrity? Is it to make telekinetic throw channel .05 seconds faster? The world may never know.
  9. Update: Just finished ToS 8m SM. Again, I passed on I'd say 80% of the loot. One piece of which I could have used. A relic. I knew more would drop later on. At Underlurker, I took no chances. I needed on stuff I could actually use. ie set bonus pieces that I didn't have and any 192 unassembled relics. New guy shows up at underlurker. Probably the least well geared member. Manages to get TWO RELICS and a set bonus piece. Didn't violate any rules. But seriously, what a greed SoB. Made a shiny penny that guy did tonight. Meanwhile I got sqat. >.> not surprised though. I'm wondering if the game analyzes the gear quality of certain players and gives them better roles. If so, communism has a left a bigger impression that I thought. Darn Commies.
  10. A lot of players are saying Sorcerer/Sage are still really nerfed and their DPS, Healing abilities, and defensive cooldowns. In upcoming patch 3.5, sorcerers/sages will have their force barrier cool down reduced to two seconds and it's channel will be increased from 10 seconds to 5 minutes. Also, channel will continue even when the player moves and uses other abilities. The bubble will also increase player's DPS by 50% and reduce the cooldown of all abilities by 99%. Lastly, since too many players are upset that the sorcerer/sage class is still too nerfed at this point, the bubble will make the player immune to interrupts, stuns, knockbacks, pulls, increase movement speed by 100%, increase range of all abilities by 70 meters, and decrease cast times by 100% I still don't think that will be enough though, personally, so I'll stick to my scoundrel/operative heals/dps. Until Bioware can finally beef up sorcerer/sage dps/heals and the class's respective defensive cooldowns. Good hunting.
  11. I know exactly what you mean now. Only tried BH HM once though. But during the orbital strike for Shield Squadron One, I run, really far, using speed buffs. My computer is a beast at handling the game and I have a good stable connection. But even though I've run completely and excessively away from the aoes, I still take damage. Other times, I take damage for no reason. None whatsoever. The more I try the fight, the more I see it's because of the mechanics.
  12. So, I know this has been addressed and a small part of me is hoping bioware will do something about this, but I doubt it. Gearing my toons in 198 gear has been a bit of a let down. I've been paying all of my ultimate commendations on a piece of gear just so I can extract a mod, and if I'm lucky, maybe an enhancement as well. Unfortunately, end game gear is terrible, or a lot of it is and sometimes you have to spend far more than what should be necessary just to optimize your gear according to your class and you role. I'd much rather pay a slighty reduced price (in ultimate commendations) for a single modification or enhancement. We would be able to buy an optimized mod OR enhancement without the excessive waste of the other two. In other words... JUST DO WHAT ALL THE OTHER WORLD VENDORS DO!!!!!!! This is rocket science Bioware. You have countless "modification vendors" on the fleets and worlds themselves, but for endgame gear, it changes. Now you have to buy whole pieces of gear but end up only using a mod.
  13. Yeah, I said that so responses wouldn't claim I'm complaining. Though I am certain that there is validity to my original point.
  14. Maybe not "hard to get" but when level cap was 55, there were 5 operations iirc that, in 16 man would drop ultimate commendations. in addition to the groupfinder reqwards and weeklies for the operations. Aside from that, I cannot remember how many (if any) other weeklies like Oricon dropped ultimate commendations. If you think ultimate comms are in as great abundance as they were months ago, I must disagree. There are fewer operations that can be farmed for ultimate commendations.
  15. /signed guess that's what else everyone else it putting. Also, MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE hooks for Stronghold. And maybe the ability to place our own hooks? It'd be kinda cool to put stuff on the cliff face of Tat SH.
  16. Forgive me ahead of time, in my rage I hit 'spacebar' after finishing entire post and I returned to previous page and lost all my progress. Anyways, monday night I had 98 Ultimate Commendations. I specifically and precisely remember that because I was thinking to myself: "Aw man, I just need two more ultimate comms then I can get another 198 piece." I remember it very very clearly. In addition to that, I grinded three tactical flashpoints tuesday afternoon and turned in the tactical flashpoint weekly. Which grants FOUR ultimate commendations. THEREFORE, simple math dictates that I should have 102 ultimate commendations. I did. I checked, and I remember having 102 ultimate commendations. I also remember selecting "show affordable" and the gauntlets for my class, the item that I was planning on getting, was on the list. I right clicked it, and as soon as I did, my game sort of froze. Maybe I imagined it because of my anticipation of buying anther 198 piece, but I don't believe in coincidences. I went to inventory and it wasn't there. I checked chat because it will say stuff like "bought item for XXX value of YYY currency" and it wasn't there. I checked currency values and it showed me having 96 ultimate commendations. I'm calling total BS on that. I had every specifically planned out and unless it's bioware math, where +4 is actually -4, I should have 102 ultimate commendations, or the gear piece. Also, if you think I'm trying to scam wierdoware out of ultimate commendations, think again because it doesn't make that much sense for me to do that if I'm only wanting four more comms. I know it's be easy to complete another weekly to get more ultimates. But I don't want to pass a possible coding screw up or tactic to get players to play longer.
  17. With the recent operations and game rewards/loot adjustments post 3.0, it's been harder to start building up reserves of Ultimate Commendations. Not necessarily a bad thing, in fact I'm glad this change has happened. It will force players to spend more effort and time to learning and clearing the new flashpoints and operations therefore increasing the overall skill and capability of players server wide. But I digress. Partially related, but this has also resulted in loot drops to be more coveted. Especially the set bonus pieces. With ultimate comms being harder to come by per say, the set bonus piece tokens are in higher demand. My strategy in almost every operation is to pass on about 85-95% of ALL LOOT that drops in hopes that it would "increase" my chances of getting an item that I could use much more effectively than any other piece of loot that drops. The set bonus tokens specifically. My thinking leads me to say to myself "if I only take a piece of bread from the table 6/7 dinner times a week, no one will have the right to cry when I grab the drumstick from the turkey." Or, I should be more deserving of the ONE ITEM I want. Honestly though, ran Ravagers three times consecutively, passing on every item except the one I really wanted, and still didn't get them. I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles, but still. I think if players pass on most loot, there should be a guaranteed INCREASE in chance that you'll receive the item that you need on later. Not a guarantee that you'll get it. It's hard to explain. Not entitlement, but an obvious result that your non-greedy persona is taken note of. I don't know. I think you'll know what I mean, then again I just have a lot of QQ. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  18. I agree with OP. To get the achivement "Lord of the Raklings," you need to kill the Luker once with each of the raklings summoned. If OP is in fact correct about One or more of the pets dropping ONCE per Eyeless Boss fight, then that IS a sadistic, or stupid way of doing things. Yeah, I get the "You have to earn it" BS and the rarity of the item. But having to compete with other players to get it is a big pain in the butt. QQ is not unexpected. I welcome and embrace this player's pain as my own. I don't want to go through "Lair of Eyeless" several times on all my toons, up to level or not, and still not get the one pet I need. Meanwhile the random DPS player that stood in all the AOEs and died, gets the pet, doesn't focus on achievements or legacy titles, is rewarded with an item he or she will never recognize the value of, nor recognize the envy of the other player that has grinded for hours looking for the pet. Why is it that some of the raklings can be bought easily but others cannot?
  19. These two new HM 60 Flashpoints are by far one of the most difficult things I have ever had to deal with in this game. Maybe it's just really bad luck and I get stuck with absolutely retarded players who are under geared and have a poor performing computer. The biggest frustrations I think are the adds that spawn and gank the healer in only 1-3 seconds. Even with the guard. Yeah, you can anticipate where they will spawn, but honestly, even I have a hard time. I am a veteran player since launch, I have a good connection and good computer, but the ships only appear 1-2 seconds before adds do, then within a second of spawn, the angry over powered hordes are massacring the lot of you. The next biggest frustration is the inconsistent damage done by the boss itself. Sometimes damage done isn't so bad and can be healed through quite easily. And seconds later, without any buffs and using the same attacks, the boss is doing 2x 3x more damage than before. In short, I honestly think Bioware hasn't a clue, or they just don't care, that this fight, and Blood Hunt are FAR more difficult than other HM 60s. I looked and couldn't find any official statement addressing the difficulty of the flashpoints. I requeue after rage quitting like I did before I wrote this rant, get stuck with the original HM 60s and I think to myself "WOW!!! This HM 60 is a walk in the park."
  20. 2 years later, but the stories prompted me. Met a Sage in Korriban Incursion HM. His role was healer, but was specced telekinetics dps. Not even the worst part. He wasn't aware of his role. And get this, I inspected his gear and he literally had every stat possible on all of armor pieces. From absorb rating to strength, alacrity to cunning, defense to aim. He never said anything, rest of the group were whispering each other. Finally he said something. "Help" Several seconds after we all died from pulling a group of adds inside sith academy. It's one of those things that you don't know what to say or think, you just stare into space and wonder "Why me?" aha good thread. Good laughs
  21. Does anyone else think the Bomber Classes are too easy to use? It seems as though whenever a team is losing, and they all (or most) switch to the bomber class, they can easily turn the match around in their favor. I've come to relate how their mines resemble piles of dog crap. Can be hard to see, and if you're not paying attention, you can "walk", or fly in this case, right into them. Sure they're easy to kill. 150 hp and stationary, but f you're trying to focus objectives, it can really be a hassle to take out the mines, get close to satellite, and keep an eye out for the bomber, in which their laser canons are hard hitters. It doesn't take much skill I think, to use a bomber class. Most bombers have turrets/mines that are easily deployed, and they never miss their target. Meanwhile, after making several "dog piles" around the satellite, bomber user can leisurely fly circles and let their mines/turrets do the heavy lifting. I'm guess someone's gonna say they do take skill. Nevertheless, dogfighting and 'sniping' with gunships takes tactics and precision. Things that I think bombers do not require.
  22. Okay, in a massive rage right now. Has anyone else been really frustrated with Battle of Rishi with specifically the bosses? The worst trouble I've had since these new HM 60s have come out has been with the final boss. I haven't tried Blood Hunt yet but I've heard that players (both veterans and new players) have had very frustrating result and experiences. I'm having a hard time whether it's regarding player skill or if these fights are broken and only work properly half the time. For instance, our healer will sometimes die instantly from the damage output done by the adds. No chance to use ANY defensive cooldowns and even with guard, they still get targeted first. Aside from that, even as a fairly well geared tank I still get massacred. I don't have any issues with any of the initial HM 60s (manaan, incursion, assault on tython, rakata) but these new HMs are ridiculous. Also, if these HMs are "perfect", why do they drop Blue 184s? I understand that all these lines and groupings of complex coding sometimes result undesired outcomes, but it seems like these results are always overpowering against the players as opposed to "accidentally being a gravy run."
  23. I was wondering if the amount of legacy points in two separate legacies on two (or more) different servers will combine. To clarify what I mean, I'll try and represent the legacy point count in round numbers. Lets say that Legacy A has completed all of Karagga's Palace achievement points, but none of Explosive Conflict. Let's say this adds to 250 BUT, Legacy B has completed none of Karagga's Palace achievement points but all of Explosive Conflict. Let's say this adds to 250. "Will the achievements completed by Legacy A, but not completed by Legacy B add together? Therefore making 500? 250 KP + 250 EC = 500. This is excluding all the achievements that have been completed by both legacies. I know it's hard to understand, or maybe you're understanding it just fine. Thanks, I just want to know if I need to redo a bunch of achievements or anything like that.
