  1. Yeah, it sounds like some sort of maneuver. But the thing is, while the enemy fighter is doing the maneuver, they're sill facing me AND shooting me. It's not possible to be facing someone and shooting them while they're committing/in the process of completing a maneuver. But that's what I've seen a small handful of times.
  2. Every so often I'll be playing chicken with another fighter, and suddenly they'll switch from moving towards me slowly, to moving straight away from me very fast, and the way my UI tracks them, its almost like they've used a maneuver and they become impossible to hit. And if you've ever played chicken with an enemy in this way, they're hard to miss But maneuvers obviously change the directions where you can shoot, so that doesn't make sense. I was wondering if any else has seen this and has an explanation. The only thing I can think of is them activating "running interference" and that my perspective is different than theirs. From their perspective, all movement is normal, but from mine, they're moving differently.
  3. Currently on my second attempt at completing Chapter V Ascension Master Mode. I'm at the part where you are controlling a Colossus droid massacring adds. At the end, a cutscene is suppose to happen where the droid falls over and your toon escapes. None of that is happening. Not touching anything, the "... box" appears over the droid as I enter a conversation, everything disappears from my screen like you're turning off your UI, and then it just sits there. I have tried relogging, restarting game, resetting phase, resetting quest and starting over. Made an in game ticket last night. Any known tricks?
  4. Hello all, Apologies if this is the wrong thread, but it seemed the most appropriate given the technical circumstances I am in and I try to troubleshoot as much as I can before going to the forums As of 11/24, all gameplay for me is frequented with stuttered performance and freezing with lag spikes going into the low thousands. To expand on that, I'll either be moving my character and/or activating an ability. However, the game will freeze or stutter, and even though I'll press a hotkey to activate an ability, it won't activate for 1-3 seconds, or at all, and I'll have to hit my hotkey again. Additionally, all visual graphics and animations will freeze for 1-2 seconds, then recontinue, but at an accelerated rate in order to complete the full cast/channel. Like a mortar volley from a commando, you'll see/hear the first mortar of the volley, then the game will freeze, then resume, then you'll hear the rest of the volley happen really quickly, almost all at once. I assumed it was server latency due to a population increase from the event change on Tuesday, but no one else seems to be having this issue, at least the 1-2 players across four fleet instances that bothered to respond. I have also troubleshooted my network/computer to a significant degree, including but not limited to: Altering bitraider to confirm files (at least that's what the thread I followed said) Checking GPU/CPU health and performance. Completely disconnecting all cables/power supply from router for several minutes. Switching between Wireless Card and Ethernet. Running game on separate computer. Same issues Checking ISP for any issues in the area. Pinging Router, random websites. Nothing out of the ordinary, I think. PingPlotter, but not sure what all the graphs mean. Just seeing random red spikes at the bottom. Flushing DNS. Clean Boot. Altering in-game graphics. Checking how much bandwidth is being used by other devices connected to network. Full System scan of all files. Uninstallation/Reinstallation of GPU drivers. None of these have worked in the slightest in helping me. I don't mind replacing hardware, new tech, etc, but the biggest issue I am having is diagnosing the issue. Thanks guys in advance EDIT::::::::::::::::::::::::: Before the lag spikes occurred, there was a coaxial cable disconnected from an outdoor splitter, feeding my modem, which was connected to my router, connected to my comp, etc. After the cable was reconnected, the latency spikes started happening. Tested each cable's ability to reduce latency by disconnecting one at a time. If my account logged off to the server selection screen, I kept that cable connected. If I stayed logged in and no other house systems were affected by the coaxial disconnect, test new latency against old. Low and behold, I found the issue.
  5. It's entirely possible. My lag spikes only started happening on the 24th of november. I immediately assumed it was an increase in server population due to the event change, but I've never had issues this bad before when server population increase. I also think if serer pop increased, average latency would increase, but there wouldn't be any spikes As for hardware, I luckily have a second comp comprised of old pieces that I changed out when I upgraded. I'm confident all pieces are in excellent condition enough to provide accurate data compare against with my current comp. Depending on server connection with my second comp, I should be able to narrow down my suspects. I appreciate the feedback.
  6. I think I have new critical information for my issue. My latency in game spikes, but around the same time on pingplotter, there's no indication. The curve so to speak in the window at the top right isn't showing any major spikes in MS. If my connection to other servers is nominal or within reason, that would mean my computer is having issues. But then again I'm not totally sure if I am reading the charts correctly on pingplotter. Hopefully if it's an issue with my machine, it's the GPU. Hoping to have an excuse to upgrade it.
  7. I've been using pingplotter and one of the IP addresses 159.153.191.240 isn't reading any data. It's assuming 100 packet loss. Now I went to the web address associated with it. For me it's accounts.ea.com Unfortunately, the site won't load. So I pinged it manually using cmd prompt and ipconfig. Request timed out over and over again. Upon further research, if the site is indeed down, it wouldn't be the first time as I have found troubleshooting forums regarding the same site being down dating back several years. Perhaps I have packet loss/lag spikes because of a singular website is down/offline? Doesn't seem like it'd be the issue. Packet loss doesn't seem like it would be a symptom of a downed site, but then again I am no expert. I'm not totally sure if this is actually the issue I am having, or if I am misinterpreting the data, but if there is anyone else here smarter than me, I'm all ears lol.
  8. Off chance you know of a way to compile the plot data into something more comprehensive? I've read recommendations of submitting the data to ISP and EA support. Not sure if I should just snippit the heck out of the graphs or if there's a way to compile it in a more simplistic setting.
  9. I've been getting sudden latency spikes on Star Forge. Altering graphics changes nothing. Reset router, modem, comp several times. Checked and secured all hardware. Compared latency and reliability by switching between wireless and hardwired connections. No change. All hardware aside from Power Supply and cooling system are pretty new. Pinged a random website, all 0% packet loss. Pinged router, 0% router loss. No ISP issues in the area. At this point I'm fairly certain SWTOR IT is having issues of some sort. Whether they're informed about it, working on it, or doing nothing is completely up in the air. It'd be nice if they were ever having issues they'd say something and give status updates, if this is the case.
  10. Can confirm as of tonight, this issue has not been resolved. How long have Uprisings been out? I'm not too bummed about not being able to loot as I care more about the achievements than I do some common items. Still, you'd think Bioware *cough* *cough* EA, would have done something about this.
  11. You know, I feel pretty stupid now because I completely forgot about that It completely slipped my mind that you're suppose to run over bound players. DOH! Thanks for setting the record straight and reminding me of the correct mechanics.
  12. Not sure if this is a bug, or if I am just not doing the the mechs right. Anyways, twice during HM Cademimu General Ortol fight (final fight) he'll bind players to the floor. A PHYSICAL debuff that is suppose to be cleansed by themselves, the healer, or a dual spec class with a physical/tech cleanse ability. However, both times I've healed this HMFP on my Sawbones Scoundrel, I've liberally used my cleanse ability (Triage) that is suppose to, and I quote "cleanses a friendly target of up to 2 negative TECH or PHYSICAL effects." Simply put, my cleanse ability isn't working when it's suppose to. Unless there's a mechanic I'm missing. However, the weirdest thing is that if I use it on the same group mate multiple times, (and I've experimented with this), is that it eventually works. On a side note, it's pretty braindead of whoever to add a 25 kill count achievement to Captain Grimyk literally years after players have already gotten the 25 kill count for the other bosses. Gotta do the FP 20 more times now smh
  13. I did the same yesterday. Boosted a level toon to level 70 and pitted it against one of mine. And thankfully the achievements are working as intended. I assumed level difference was null as the achievements don't specify any details. Fantastic. Thank you for your help in this. I really appreciate it.
  14. That is a fantastic idea. The thought of trying that method did indeed cross my mind. I plan on trying that before swapping servers. It does make sense, realistically for two players to be more evened out in terms of total performance and capabilities. I'll let you know if it works.
  15. I met Kags online once. He or She got me into achievement hunting when I saw that green upon green 100% on item after item. T'was truly an honour. Also, my bad. Didn't check to see if this thread was exclusively for achievement counts and not for other tomfoolery. I'll edit when I hit the 50k. Just shy of it.
  16. If it's the only way, then I might as well give it a try. I'm not sure though how to go about it. Do you simply switch servers and work on achievement that way? What parameters are needed to get the counter working? Thank you for your prompt response as well.
  17. Hello, Came across other threads regarding this issue, but I'm trying to grind for the achievements: <Engaging the Outlaws> -- > 25 PvP Kills <Outlaw's Den Destroyer> --> 75 PvP Kills <Outlaw's Den Devastator> -- > 150 PvP Kills So far I'm 3/150. Though everytime I try and kill an enemy of the opposing faction, kill counter doesn't count. PvP instance, Master of Tatooine Achievement already earned. I tried coordinating with guildmates, random other players, and my brother who occasionally plays to try and chip away. Anyone hear of anything more? Other threads say to switch servers. Which is stupid and costly. Maybe if I had cash to burn. Just wondering if there's more to it.
  18. Yeah, anything EA touches will turn to ash. However, if somehow Bioware is given the go ahead to start on some new, quality content after somehow finding a way to conclude the Eternal Alliance and Zakuul Story Arcs, I would suggest a massive push towards new story lines. Story lines that are specific to certain classes. Basically, what you're given on levels 1-50 pretty much. On top of that, I would go so further as to add a completely new class altogether. That would require some ingenuity. Maybe make it a triple spec. Heals, Tank, AND DPS capable. Kinda a reach, make just another dual spec. Either way, the entire Zakuul/Eternal Alliance Story line was decent, but it was basically just another planetary story arc capable of being completed by any class you consider you main. By having a new story for each class specific, you can get current/returning players to go through the motions of resurrecting at least eight classes and thousands of game hours invested.
  19. Learned to stop getting use to certain classes and their advantages, without a doubt Bioware will most certainly...adjust the class and specializations leaving you with a hollowed out favorite role. I fear sweeping gunfire for gunslingers will someday get an extreme nerf that will make grinding take 4x as long.
  20. +1 to this thread. Wondering why this item is in our collections when we can't unlock. Willing to pay coin too. ToS demands that no one be deceptive when advertising referral links, yet we can't unlock an item in collections.
  21. Galactic Command is by far the biggest issue I have had with this game. Did you guys even think before implementing this new system? Did you ever ask yourselves if this were a good idea? Okay, so you can get set pieces by grinding PvP and daily heroic missions for 10-20 command ranks, as well as a dozen of the same worthless pets. However, I decided to get a few command levels for an alt, a dual spec, that I plan on using as a healer for my guild. Got a set bonus piece on rank 4, or something, and it's bonus is DPS. I would have preferred to have gotten the heal set bonus, as I already have a well geared DPS toon. But thank you for the relatively worthless piece that I will never use. Granted, it is rank 4, which can be achieved very fast, but still. Am I gonna grind all the way up to tank 90 and have a mix of 230 healing and dps bonus pieces? I have no say in what I worked for???? Are you kidding me? With each patch, I lose whatever amount of faith I have left in your idiot devs. They probably won't see this unless I use a word they don't like. Whatever, you guys can't figure out why you keep losing approval. Pull your heads out of goat's *** and please get back on track again. Make SWTOR great again. I know there are players that agree. Thanks for making us grind 20x harder than before.
  22. In my experience, operatives/scoundrels have the absolute worse AOEs in the game, next to sentinels. Makes regular questing take longer. Would be nice have our flyby back.
  23. I feel your pain, every bit of it. As a gunslinger, it is impossible for me to finish the last part, where you have to run up to him. I die every time at the bottom of the stairs. I am unable to use any speed abilities to get to Arcann faster. I doubt ANY of my defensive cooldowns will help, meaning as a gunslinger, I am screwed and shouldn't bother with that toon anymore. Which, honestly, sucks. It should be doable on all classes. Easier/harder for some, but doable on all. Nice work, I know that fight is no picnic.
  24. So I know I posted a thread asking for help on how to beat Arcann. I BS it the first time because it was painfully easy. Didn't pay attention. Had to relearn the fight the hard way in Veteran mode. I am able to get past most of the fight except the very last part where Arcann jumps towards the front of the room, channels "Fury of the Heir" and start spamming lightning and force orbs. My ability to move is increasingly hindered, and I am unable to use ANY abilities other than the temporary ones that you get from picking up the shield. I die every time at the bottom of the steps. Which, I estimate my toon's speed to be at maybe...one meter a minute. Too slow to get to boss before I die from increasing damage from adds/boss. In addition to the shield you grab, I am also using the "attuned" weapon that gives you extra abilities special to the fight. I don't see how other players can do it any more easily than I can seeing as no defensive cooldowns or speed cooldowns can be used. Valkorian's heals are insufficient to combat the damage I take. I have sustained 200k in damages to my gear so far lawl. I have tried hunkering down several seconds before Arcann tosses me back to the starting point. No help. Hunker down did not work for me. Please help, I cut my finger smashing my keyboard out of rage lol somebody help me
  25. Can someone give my a bottom line walk through of the final fight with Arcann, in "The battle of Odessan" in Veteran mode Or, a redirect to another thread? I can't seem to find anything on google or on tor website. The thread can even be of a SM version. My class/spec are Gunslinger and Dirty Fighting. I can survive up until the point of him spamming lightning, pretty easily. Once that happens, I use my shield, I walk up to him to bash him with it, then I die. This has happened 15 times. I feel like it'd be tremendously a lot easier if the game wasn't spazzing out all the time. Even with a 1070, I am dealing with choppy gameplay which hinders my ability to be faster. Not to mention dsync issues and lag. Anyways, I can anticipate trashy gameplay and act accordingly, but I could really use a guide of sorts. Thanks
