  1. I'm just starting my sage for PvP heals and am still level 12. Is the bubble at 14 considered heals or protection or neither when determing medals?
  2. Regretably I don't have an answer. But was wondering a related question, will it be worth having both skills in the new patch? Or will the best money come from just having Chem, or just having analysis and providing mats to support the new stim market.
  3. Scientific Method is your friend. Change one thing and measure the difference. And you can even do that without meters. Simply look at the bosses health bar when you died. Was it higher or lower. Rinse repeat, take several tries and eventually you will figure out what works. Would it be a lot faster with recout and threat meters and world of logs, yes. Is it impossible without, no.
  4. I run a standard defense spec and use Doc for god mode. When Doc isnt healing he is still DPS'ing and I find that most packs of mobs go down inside the cooldown for sabre throw anyway.
  5. As a tank I approve this thread. And I look to pass the ball to anyone as fast as I can when I get it. My value is keeping you from going splat. I wilt under focus fire just as fast as you do when I am not there to protect you. Conversely, whenever I see an enemy ball carrier guarded first thing I do is find their tank and knock them as far away as possible so the carrier is no longer guarded. Then I leap after them and stun them to give my teammates the best chance of killing the carrier before their tank can get back in action.
  6. I just started PvPing recently valor rank 14, but I am easily getting 5-7 medals per using the standard 31/10/0 defense spec. Medals are usually Shield the 2.5k damage save Paladin (10k damage save) Quick Draw Soldier Assasin 75k damage dealt Defender the 25 kill medal I realize that's 9, but those are the typical ones that show up in my 5-7. As for PVE, needless to say I am positioned to tank anything assuming my gear is up to it.
  7. Use the bolster system, but base it on top geared players in the warzone. Set it to bump the fresh 50's to say 90% of the highest geared player. This gives them a chance but doesn't eliminate the gear advantage for top geared players. Top geared players will still have an experience, and potentially a skill, advantage that should give them an overall edge. Fresh 50's will still have to bring their "A" game to win, but will be more than fertilizer if they don't. Everyone is still challenged, the field is more level, the advantage remains with the people who have put in the time and dedication to PvP.

    I'm just getting into Warzones, currently a lvl 39 Guardian with a full defense spec. I think I have the big ideas down, but need help with execution. I know to guard the ball carrier and when they get swarmed pop my aoe taunt. In my first void star last night I scored the most medals with several of them comming from applying protection. What I am looking for is an easier way to swap guard targets. I have guard hot keyed but I still need to click the teammate I want to guard to target them first. Since I drive with the mouse this means I trade mobility for a couple seconds in order to guard someone. Is there a better way?
  10. Using Force Push to launch a champion mob into the sarlac on tatoine. Made looting a tad hard but so worth the visual.
  11. OK damage, 4 second stun is always nice, extra threat. All with a lovely 1 min CD and requiring a precious talent point when shooting for a 31/10/0 build. We have plenty of other stuns, some on short CDs some on long. Extra threat? I'm not sure it is worthwhile if I can only take advantage of it 2 or 3 times per boss fight. Against same level DPS single target tanking I'm not having much problem holding aggro. I accept that may change at 50 with gear scaling though.
  12. What brought the populations back in line was the damn blood elves. They ruined the Horde. Prior to that, the Horde was ugly. RE: Buffing Rep player XP to get them to 50 faster, no thanks. My Guardian is already over leveled for the planet I am on because I am enjoying the quests so much I am doing them all.
  13. Then tie the additional threat from parries, shields, deflections, etc to a talent. Call it right back at ya.
  14. I notice this mostly on riposte though I have seen it elsewhere. Now that my shield chance is up to 24% it is happening a lot more frequently. What I haven't tried yet, is tinkering with the preferences settings that adjust how long tyo execute abilities. The default is .5 seconds. If anyone has changed it to zero or 1 second do you also experience this issue?
  15. I'm level 21 and tanked heroic missions plus Hammer Station and Athiss last night with no real difficulties. I am completly speced the the tanking tree. This is not WoW tanking where I tanked with all 4 classes. Your goals are not the same. Here your #1 priority is to keep the hardest hitting mob on you. Let the DPS handle the adds, and keep everything off your heals. This is contrary to WoW where any mob in a dungeon could drop your DPS before they knew what was going on. Feel free to request CC and establish kill orders. That's harder to do in pugs especially given a lot of SW fans are new to MMOs. I like to use my taunt to ping pong the targets the DPS is going after, especially when the mobs are melee and dps ranged. You can also force leap to any mobs that are standing on your healer to get some aggro and stun them. The usual rules still apply, keep mobs off your heals, dont stand in anything, kill healers, then casters, then melee first and don't break CC.
