  1. That's exactly what I need Skolops! Thank you everyone for helping so much on this subject. I think I'll stick with infil because covering a turret solo is typically what I do because I have the confidence to take down someone, I just had no clue whether or not it'd be doable just as EASILY as balance (which obviously it can't). Again thanks for the information everyone. I can see myself possibly trying balance out when I get with a guild or set team of people, but since I'm solo/guildless I'm thinking infil will defintely fit my playstyle better.
  2. Interesting stuff to say the least. So all specs really are viable for pvp then? I'm assuming I should at least use a shield offhand for KC? Also would I use defensive stats for PVE tanking mainly? I understand fully using DPS stats/power for KC in pvp but was wondering if that was just a universal thing to be used in both pvp and pve? In 50 pvp is Infil still strong? I noticed so much mitigation when I played my sniper pre 1.2 and since balance applies internal damage wouldn't that be more damage int he long run? In short: Infil would have burst whilst balance would maintain not as high a burst but still decent damage? Thank you all for your posts..so informative

  4. So I've been playing shadow infiltration for my entire time leveling thus far and I'm finally at the level 47 mark. I'd like to know the viability and perhaps "roles" of the other two specs in pvp? Perhaps a clarification? Kinetic is obviously the tank spec..I'd assume it'd be good for when I'm well geared in the proper "tanky" respect and it seems to work better with a crowd of people? How is it one on one? Balance was hard for me to read as I looked at the spec. From what I can tell it's heavy CC and more of a support? Does it have decent damage as well? I saw internal damage stuff here and there which makes sense for pvp (I have a sniper I used to avidly pvp with so I understand internal damage) but I'd like to know what you guys think. I really don't want to hear any whining about being weak now since 1.2 or anything..I'd just like a decent overview or something from those that actually use the spec and enjoy it, i.e. people who geared up right and aren't judging it on a level 25 toon they're currently leveling. Also what are the tanky stats for kinetic? I'd assume it's your basic shield, absorb, defense etc. prioritization?
  5. I'm very happy with the system. I just dinged 50 after doing the pre 50 pvp to get 1000/1000 and a bag and even then it's still insane how stupidly easy it is for people in BM gear to just decimate you.

  7. I feel so useless when all I get during the day are huttball matches of 75% inqs and consulars that just run around people and pull them across the entire map. I can't be the only one dealing with this overpowered nonsense.
  8. Ha.. I came here to post about this and found this here. Seriously though it isn't so much the amount as it is how UNFAIR they are in huttball. You get a team of well oiled SI or JC and you can't do anything to stop them. Literally I've seen an entire team of SI or JC because of this reason.
  9. Hate to say it but after hitting 50 I'm starting to think we're a broken class. Not that we can't match others for damage output..but that we can't do anything but that. Why have a class solely for damage output if it can't be the best? Why make MM so horribly unviable in PVP when our classes name is SNIPER? Why make plasma probe so awful no one specs full engineer? (hurry up 1.2) Why is lethality and lethality/some engineering our only viable pvp spec? there's plenty more questions I could ask that make me question why I'm even a sniper...the IA storyline was neat ..I suppose..
  10. I wouldn't mind seeing a reply to this..I was told the same thing and yet also see the same things occur between class dps comparison. Someone will come in with the obligatory "durrr we can't figur it oute til we haz numburz" but it's rather obvious when someone is doing the same damage as you.

The upgrade to plasma probe seems like it might be worthwhile again after 1.2 Out of boredom last night I spec'd Engie (btw what's with the cost of respecing? seems insane) and yeah the first problem I saw was plasma is just...a joke. The ticks are way too far apart for it to be affective in anything but covering points. If the buff to plasma is better I may go back but for now I went full on lethality specing a little into engie.

  13. I'm assuming Engineering is a fully AoE type spec...when is this viable to ever spec fully in to? As a 48 sniper I've bounced between MM to lethality to right now I'm trying out a lethality hybrid with Interrogation probe. No major difference though I was able to heavily dot a second target thanks to it. I'm just wondering what's the viability BESIDES good AOE for engineering? Someone was telling me defense but it seems like lethality has that covered with the buff it offers to countermeasures. Just exploring PVP viability right now mind you. I spec MM for PVE based stuff.
  14. I love this class. Most of the forums are made up of whiners and complainers ..even the general discussion forums is filled with nothing but cry babies complaining about things that aren't wrong. Was MM at first..got focused a lot in pvp thanks to the bright red friggin shield that pops up. Decided to try lethality, destroyed people. Decided to try lethality/engie with the Int probe. Now I wreck even more. Anyone who says this class sucks isn't playing it right.
