  1. I have logs. It's quite plain. Just not terribly common. EDIT: This is an old one, shows the buff falling off in the middle of my FL channel. I have one at http://www.torparse.com/l/629453 where I was carrying 3 stacks around for a while doing dailies, got an elite droid add, went to use FL to build stacks and got nothing....19:58:39 mark or so....
  2. If you don't get it, you don't get it.
  3. It's amazing. I'm not even gonna justify cause just...lol...wow. Your sample size is showing, I guess. I am done with this engine, and every development resource going into the CM. Dueces and junk. 38 hours or so now...
  4. Sin/Shadow tank talent is bugged. Casting Force Lightening at 3 stacks should stack Dark Protection once per tick. It will in some cases just flat out not work. Doesn't seem to matter if you already have DP up and are trying to refresh it or if you are just trying to get stacks up. Neither does the remaining time on your stacks seem to contribute. This is not a case of FL being resisted. The damage is being done. Also note that when this happens, if it doesn't work on tick 1, it will not work on ticks 2, 3, or 4. I feel like this has been around since the change to the talent, why is this not on the Known Issues?
  5. Actually, once those gennies go active, there is a target-able friendly frame on top of it, which you can use to intercede if nobody runs over for ya. Just a head's up, can be tricky to see and target it at first, but it's there.
  6. It's good. It's not great. Most of the development seems to involve finding ways for people to use the CM, but if you're just coming back, there are plenty of raids you missed. As far as the specific points you raised, there has been approximately nothing done to change any of that. If you ever subbed, you'd be preferred, no? Poke your head in. Free of charge.
  7. Added a /bug ingame as well, but these bound to legacy crates simply won't attach to the the mail system. There is no error, it just ignores the attempt. Tried to attach a EEE, no problem, a bound item, 'This item is bound', the crate....nada... I did peek inside (20 planetary comms) before attempting to mail it off, but did not loot them, obviously. Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the responses. Gut feels like it has something to do with ability queuing but it happens so rarely I haven't got a clue how that would be tested. I've added it as a /bug ingame, hopefully they'll take a peek at some point. Thanks folks.
  9. 10. Alright, thanks. It happens very rarely but I've noticed it maybe 3 or 4 times in the last week just doing dailies. Appreciate the response. EDIT: It reminds me somewhat of the Op Lethality bug where refreshing your dots right as they prepare to segueway into their weaker versions will result in the weaker version being applied instead of the stronger version, except that this seems to happen regardless of how close the stacks are to falling off. I've had it happen when I was hammering FL during the GCD with DP on the verge of falling off(where in that case even if I lose the stacks the subsequent ticks should start rebuilding stacks but don't) and I've also had it happen while I had 3-4 seconds left on my DP stacks, so I dunno.)
  11. This is not about knockbacks, this is about force lightening just flat out not renewing DP stacks. Tried looking up known issues, but it's almost all regarding whether or not resisted ticks should/should not grant stacks and or people confusing pushbacks for knockbacks. Been goofing with a sin tank and I've seen this a few times. When it occurs, it does not occur on a tick by tick basis-- IE if I have 3 or 4 seconds left on my DP stacks and hit FL, if it does not reset the stacks on the first tick, /it will not reset the stacks on any subsequent ticks either/. It does however do the damage, so I'm a bit confused. It seems to happen more often when I am queuing FL and hammering the key a few times in a row during the GCD than it does if I wait for the GCD and hit the ability. However, the small sample size makes that pretty anecdotal. Anyone else? Workaround? Thanks!
  12. CM isn't sucking the fun out, but it is eating up development cycles. No new pve content is sucking the fun out. Game is no longer about SW, game is about Market. Cancelled for ESO, tired of running the same ops for ages. New difficulty is not new content.
  13. Last night's HM SnV went like this: All the agent DPS fetched their Mercs/SmashMonkeys after the first pull on Dash'rode. There were several moments of silence. Dumbfounded... silence. Orbital Strike is gone, and Lower Atmosphere Massage Exercise has taken it's place. OS has become LAME.
  14. When I rolled a dps alt, I decided to use the little furbie. She's great, I still use her. However on another alt, I was checking what it would cost to get HK and Treek unlocked for her. I click the HK tab, it pops up a dialog with an option for payment. Snazzy. I click on Treek, and 300k credits get poofed. No dialog, no anything, just a new furbie with level 10 gear on. >_> Put in a ticket, 'working as intended', so here's a suggestion: Confirmation dialog. Thanks. Last time I went and asked, 'how much for that puppy in the window?', the response was not, 'you now own puppy no refunds.'
  15. Hey folks, Not sure how many other folks attempted to raid this evening (12/5), but the lag has been encounter breaking. Has anyone heard anything about a fix in the works for this new issue (since the star-farter pack launched and started eating up instances)? I don't know how many cycles the dev team has given to their current flagship (heheheh) minigame, but it's affecting things rather badly for the rest of the instanced raid groups on my server. Entire raids are completely unresponsive for up to 15 or 20 seconds. Chat works ok usually, everyone's vent is fine, and here's the fun bit--- THE BOSS/EVENT/MOBS ALSO STOP DOING ANYTHING! It's nice to come back from a massive spike like that and not be dead, but the fact that we aren't dead pretty much confirms that all of your cycles are going elsewhere lately. I can only imagine it's the SpaceFace. Please re-evaluate your load balancing. I don't know if you're giving bandwidth priority to Space PeeVees, but it seems like you're prioritizing all of the instanced starfighter content on the processing front. I get that you want your new content to work well! (And for what it's worth, I'm not a fan of traditional PVP and the associated grinds, but I enjoy the approach you guys are taking so far w space PeeVee). But at some point you have to stop throwing dirt on one part of the game to make another look shinier by comparison. Just cleaning up both seems easier, but then-- hey-- I'm not a bean counter, and I'm sure it's more expensive. If instanced content is hosted on the characters' home server, that's fine. I don't know what resources you're working with. But I have a sneaking suspicion that your Space Face is set to have a massive priority on cycles right now, and you should know it's breaking the regular PVE raiders over here on Jedi Covenant. We can only take the entire raid lagged out several times an hour so many times before we have to call the raid night. It's not like the raid is coming back to dead bodies, we're sitting there groaning in vent for 10-30 seconds (yes we timed that one (32 seconds)--average is about 14 seconds) and we come back to mobs who also have done nothing in our absence (but the timers keep ticking for enrage, etc-- that seems to be tied to a network/SQL table, not actively processed, per se) For mobs this is fine, they just pick up where we were, and we keep fighting. But on bosses, they always reset. Since the server processes it's data first, I'd imagine the boss on the server side finally gets his or her cycles and says, 'Yeah, I'm gonna pound that Juggernaut!' only to find that the client has yet to process it's own downstream data, where the Jugg is returning a phonecall from her boyfriend and still lagged out for a few more seconds. End result? Well, you know, Boss gets cycles, suddenly finds nobody active on his or her table and resets. Clients gets their cycles, and suddenly our 24% boss has 100% HP again. YAY! We had this happen 4 times on one boss before we went a miraculous 9 minutes without your hardware postponing our activity. The problem is, I know this is a resource/priority issue, because I manage systems that host 750k-2million concurrent users. And I know it's tricky, so I'm not mad like my friends. I know all of the things you guys could possibly say in response to this issue because I've issued the same responses-- hell, I can't tell you how many canned responses I've had people record into switcher messaging systems. Sometimes the best you can say to the end user is, 'we're aware of the issue and workin on a resolution' even if corporate is only focused on one particular project. SO! If you are hosting /all/ instanced activity on the user's home server, and I would guess you are, please stop giving the spaceface instances all of the damned cycles during heavy load. Either host them on another resource, find a better way to spread them across the VMs, or give them the same priority the rest of us get. There are about 3 different different ways I deal with this kind of thing when I have a new product that upstairs wants to shine, and I'm sure you guys know more about the specifics of making it happen than I ever will. Just let it be known, it's breaking encounters. And we know why. If those that decided on this course of action discard our frustration, remind them: Your company is paid to provide a persistent service. If Verizon's HD network turned my TV into frozen, pixelated garbage for 15-30 seconds about every 15 minutes, do you think I (our they) would accept that amount of loss? Even if it only occurred on 60% of the channels? Pete looks great, but Paul and Mary are getting marginalized. Sincerely, Pete
  16. It's important that you understand that they are the toughest guys and gals on the interwebs, especially if they were NG, waiting for radios to get broken, so they could solder caps for FREEDOM. In short, they are looking for someone to be better than. It's very common for people with no stories to tell to feel insecure about that fact instead of thankful. It's also very, very stupid.
  17. I just got back myself after about 8 months away. Your post is accurate-- I've yet to see any upgrades on Makeb, tho I am only about 60% done with it. My Rakata/Columi stuff was top notch when I got hurt and stopped playing, but I can't imagine I'd jump straight into a level 55 FP once I ding, either. Someone who worked hard to earn the gear back then should know better than to flop into a level 55 HMFP without doing a bit of work. The OP just got a bad group, I think. The joke is that he didn't come running to the forums when he got random'd into several straight runs with 3 overgeared folks who knew what they were doing. People never complain when RNG shines on them, only when it *****s on them.
  18. I enjoy the instance, too. But it's less about skill than RNG with this boss. Even our strong players wipe to this boss once in a while when the RNG gods just let loose a steady stream of Hershey squirts on them. The grand irony is that half the groups I take through think they're amazing for one-shotting it when they've actually played much more poorly than the group I took before who played very well and still got gibbed twice. Rolling snake eyes doesn't require 'skill'.
  19. This fight is hard because the RNG gods sometimes take a dump on you, whether you know the mechanics or not. I don't care if you have all melee or all ranged, or whatever. The gods of fortune can just plain **** on you once in a while. It is easier to 4man most sm ops than it is to kill this boss. Every time I take some folks through it and he dies, it's a collective, 'Alright, we rolled 100. Time to party.' Knowing the mechanics of it consists of not standing in bad, and yet there are time when it is impossible to not stand in bad. Awesome mechanics.
  20. /concur If you're tooling around on fleet and turn away from your machine to do something on a laptop, you'll miss it amid the sounds of people mounting/dismounting spam healing etc. I've debated finding the name of the occ file that fires when the event triggers and replacing it with a same-named file of a horse neighing or something, but I'm not sure how secured the game files really are
  21. I've seen this happen with multiple healing comps but it's irregular as hell. If you turn off his attacking options and leave the med ones one, med watch (and disable carb stream on auto-- he has to channel to maintain IE not be healing you) it tends to work a bit better. I've also gone to the further extreme and removed all of his offensive weapons, only to laugh hysterically as he stutter steps in place while I get beat up, healing not at all, and eventually runs up to a mob and starts punching them. Bad AI is bad. But hey, sometimes they work! Good luck!
  22. Marauder! If you're going to play a Sith warrior, the truest representation is the dual wielding Marauder. He has no interest in protecting your life, or the lives of his fellows. He has no interest in flexibility, because flexibility is another word for uncertainty. He has no interest in a defensive gearout, because it implies the possibility of being overwhelmed. You will gather as much equipment for the purposes of harm as your physical form will tolerate and when you strike your opponent, it will not be to knock him off balance. You will strike him to halve him. You will strike him before he strikes you. If he strikes you first, you will strike him harder. If his might is greater than yours, your rage will be greater than his. And when your endurance is at it's end, you will breathe bloody fire into the corpse of your enemy and your rage will heal you. Screw tact. Killem all.
  23. If the repair didn't work, you could try a few other little troubleshooting things... First, always make sure you are running everything SWTOR as an admin (Right click 'run as admin' even on a single user box with only admin rights-- 7 is funny with SWTOR) and before you go in to start the event, disable all sound through the SWTOR interface. Turn all of your graphical settings down to derp levels, regardless of the rig horsepower. Basic stuff like that which would hopefully reveal driver issues or at least eliminate certain possibilities. If the scene is just hanging without any error message or crash or looped soundwave, it still would seem like some trigger in the event isn't speaking the same protocol as it's target. Or could be a certain call that your AV client is screening. Make sure you aren't running more than 1 AV/Anti-Malware/Anti-Script etc program at once. While they may claim to do different things for different reasons, the realtime protection modules loaded into memory will very very often cause system hangs or sluggishness at best, with full on BSOD and hard crashes at worse. That said, make sure your 1 good av/security client is up to date and run an in depth scan if the issue persists. Open your device manager and run a scan for new hardware/check for improperly installed devices. Remove peripheral hard disks, external HDD, jump drive, etc... Run a disk check, make sure the disk isn't close to full, make sure there isn't a system scan or backup scheduled to run every day during your playtime, make sure disk caching is at a reasonable level, run looped RAM diags if you can. Before you load into the ingame event use Windows key + D to cut to desktop and 3 finger salute to pull up the task manager-- hit the performance tab and watch the physical memory usage data during the cutscene after you trigger it if you can. Run msconfig and check your services (hide MS) and startup tabs to seek out unwarranted/conflicting load-at-boot options, especially the likes of which might involve 2 wares attempting to control your system audio, video, NIC or WiFi. If your version of Windows is legit, check for updates. Check for updated versions of your GFX card's drivers. Avoid the graphical suites and seek the lite driver only or lite driver+ packs. Be sure to uninstall the previous suites/driver packs and have a restart before you install the upgrade unless the ReadMe piggybacked onto the driver advises an alternative method. You may have to boot into safe mode to get a good driver uninstall. Drive sweeper can be helpful with ID'ing leftovers if you are unsure. You could also download Autoruns to check for leftovers. Check your DX version (dxdiag @ run prompt), update if needed. I have to pee.
