  1. Why hasn't this been fixed yet? The quest text was fine as it was before, I liked when it showed me my actual progress instead of something 100% useless.
  2. I was about to prepare my level 5 consular for deletion so I could remake him for Light vs Dark. I then saw in his inventory, from the cantina crates, not one but two soulbound Black/Black dyes. WHY. I guess I'll ditch my plans to finally have a high level consular and level another trooper instead :|
  3. I believe the PVE servers are the most populated. If you are from Europe, pick the PVE server for your language. If you are from Oceania you probably want Harbinger, though Shadowlands isn't too bad depending on what times you want to play. For US I think Harbinger is the most populated server, but it's also the least stable and goes down every so often. I play on Shadowlands, it is a good server for Empire for both PVE and PVP. For Pubs I think Jedi Covenant is a better server? For Imps, go Shadowlands unless you would prefer to try Harbinger, is my personal suggestion.
  4. Thanks for the help, and I'm glad to hear I won't need to set up all my options again if I copy that over!
  5. I have built a new computer. I am unsure how to put SWTOR on it most efficiently. Which of these options would be quicker? 1) Redownload the game client (how big is it these days, 30GB?) When downloading patches it lists the speed at ~300-400kbps usually. 2) Copy the game from my old computer to my external drive via a USB2.0 port, then copy it from the drive to my new pc via a USB3.0 port.
  6. I have this problem too, and it's on the character I want to progress through KotFE next so it's pretty annoying. I hope it is fixed soon!
  7. Jediquaker - thank you for the information. Since heat is a concern for me then I think you may be right that overclocking wouldn't be worth it, especially as I want my build to last a long time. Menace - I am hoping to buy as many pieces as possible (although unfortunately I can't get them all) from umart.com.au as I can access one of their brick and mortar stores to save a ton on shipping. I was planning to buy the CPU, motherboard and graphics card from them among other things so that's a plus. Looking at umart they have these cases that all look nice and apparently support both a 300mm vga plus a 240mm radiator: $179 - Cooler Master COSMOS SE - http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id=10&id2=209&bid=3&sid=185940 (without cage) $189 NZXT Phantom 530 - http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id=10&id2=213&bid=3&sid=156430 (with cage) $229 NZXT Phantom 630 Window Edition - http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id=10&id2=213&bid=3&sid=193430 (with cage) $259 Corsair Graphite 780T - http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id=10&id2=210&bid=3&sid=203942 (doesn't specify if cage needs removing or not for vga to fit but it all looks very modular)
  8. If you are concerned that any of your abilities may need upgrading, go visit a class trainer. As long as you have bought every ability/ability upgrade they have available, then you will have everything you need.
  9. Just dug up my old help thread - it was actually only 60C idle, it was 100C just viewing the SWTOR character select screen though. When I had the issue originally my brother tried reapplying thermal paste and we made sure everything was mounted ok and the fan was spinning fine. It's in an Antec Twelve Hundred v1 case with plenty of fans - it should have been fine. Nothing brought the temps down until we bought the water cooler for it so I'm not sure why it runs so hot. As for its temp with the cooler with FF and SWTOR open (fleet) - it's sitting around 40-42C. Re my new build, we're concerned about the case I've chosen. We'll have to remove the drive cage to get the graphics card in and even then theres only 5mm to spare, and the h100i will be a tight fit if it even fits at all - I'm seeing conflicting evidence whether it will fit or not. When trying to research other cases I am finding many simply won't fit a 240mm cooler. I could try the Phantom 820 but then we're talking a $300+ case and even then I'm not 100% sure it's compatible with the H100i? My brother suggested just upgrading instead of rebuilding but I'd need a new ssd, hdd, optical drive, ram and a converter to give me access to usb 3 speeds to move backups to my external drive, and that seems like quite a lot of parts to upgrade. The things I'd be keeping are the case, mobo (supports up to ddr3 2100), cpu (i7 2.65ghz), gpu (2gb radeon) and psu (750W). No matter what route I take I'll be keeping the water cooler. I guess I'm just nervous about buying the wrong case and having heating issues (Australian summers are hot, plus the graphics card I want is known to run hot) or not being able to fit both my graphics card and water cooler inside whatever I end up choosing. Why is picking a case so hard?
  10. I originally did choose against overclocking but if I get the i5 I was planning to overclock it from 3.5ghz to ~4ghz which is what the i7 runs out of the box. If I upgrade to the i7 then I won't need to overclock I don' t think? The mobo only supports the 2666 ram if overclocking though, so I would need to overclock that to get the benefit of the faster ram. I'm wondering if I should pull my Corsair H100i out of my current PC and put it in the new build, and buy the linked cooler to put in my current PC just to keep it going. Nothing is overclocked in it, but without the cooler the CPU runs around 90C at idle so I can't just remove it. I didn't realise the cooler I bought for this problem was so swanky though, so even though it'd be a pain to swap the coolers over, it doesn't really make sense to me to have the better cooler in the older box. The i7 is ~$150AUD (~$105US) in price difference but yeah I do want the build to last at least 6 years, same as this box, so I'll give both options some more thought. Thanks for your help
  11. Thank you so much for your help JediQuaker! That Bluray reader is about $70AUD excluding currency conversion fees or international postage so probably not worth it once postage is considered, I'm unsure why I can't seem to find a reseller in Australia for it. I'll have to keep an eye out, it may save me a few $ if I can find one locally. .,..even though the case I picked was available yesterday morning it's no longer on sale anywhere D: I have now found a slightly more expensive, slightly smaller but absolutely awesome looking case - https://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-caph410w1 My only concern now is the VGA clearance. It lists the maximum as 305mm (the r9 390 is listed at 300mm) although I think if you remove one of the 5 fans it comes with as well as the drive cage you can fit more? From the looks of it I will only have access to 2 hard drive bays if I do this though? 5mm doesn't sound like much at all, especially since the graphics card is noted to run hot so it is the one component in particular that I want to keep cool assuming I can get the thing inside the case in the first place. But aaaah just look at how amazing that case looks! Edit: After some more research the 305mm is with the drive cage but without the fan, so if it's not enough I can remove the drive cage for 420mm clearance. That's more than enough if I really need it. It may not be the most practical choice but I really want that Phantom. I think I have everything I need for my new PC? It might be time to go bargain hunting to see if I can get any of those pieces for cheaper x3
  12. Force Power & Tech Power you won't find on gear, it's calculated based on Power & Mastery. Force Power is for Sith/Jedi and Tech Power is for Imperial Agent/Bounty Hunter/Trooper/Smuggler. It's how much damage/healing you do with your abilities. You would have to ask a tank about Shield vs Absorption vs Defense, I've yet to play a max level one in this particular game. They are all methods of reducing and avoiding the amount of damage you take while tanking but I don't know offhand which one is which or how much of each is ideal for a tank to have. Surge rating used to be a separate stat but now it is rolled into Critical when it comes to gearing. Surge is the amount of extra damage you do whenever you critically hit.
  13. Here's a basic summary, if you want more details I'm sure there are others who can explain them in greater detail. You can always hover over the tooltips inside the game on your character screen too. Mastery (used to be different for each class, now it's all the same) - increases your damage/healing & crit. Endurance - increases your health pool Power - increases your damage/healing Crit - increases your chance to critically hit, and increases the amount of extra damage you deal when you crit Accuracy - reduces your chance to miss, but has a hard cap so don't go crazy. Ignore if you are heals. I think PVP gear doesn't need any accuracy either, including pvp dps, but you will want to double check that. Shield, Defense, Absorption - these stats are for tanks only, ignore them if you are heals/dps. Expertise - very valuable for PVP but useless in PVE. Only found on PVP gear which you can buy from the vendor on fleet, I think they only sell max level PVP gear now though so when you are 60 you can trade in your warzone comms for PVP gear with expertise. When you enter PVP if you have no PVP gear you get bolstered (as a 0 expertise person would just get crushed by someone in full PVP gear otherwise). It tries to estimate how much expertise to give you based on your gear and some other stuff, it's not really something I'd look too closely at below level 60 but at level 60 you really want to be capped at 2018 expertise. Never mix PVP and PVE mods in the same piece of gear, e.g. don't put an expertise crystal in your PVE weapon as that will cause the weapon to not be bolstered and you may end up with less expertise overall. Hopefully these details are correct - if there are any tanks out there I'd like to hear the tanking stats elaborated myself, if anyone cares to share?
  14. Thank you everyone so much for your help! Updated the build - http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/t6ZwNG CPU: I have an i7 in my current PC. What are the chances of games using hyperthreading over the next 7 or so years? Is the i5 I picked reasonably comparable to the i7 I had selected before in terms of gaming performance? It's certainly a lot cheaper! Mobo & RAM: I upped the RAM to DDR4, but the motherboard states it only supports 2666 if overclocked. All the ones I looked at were like that. So I guess I will be overclocking after all, I've never done that before. PSU: Ok I picked a cheaper one, it's 650W and 80+ Silver. It won't be enough if I buy another graphics card for crossfire in the future, but I can't really see myself bothering with crossfire instead of building another new PC 7-10 years down the track, especially with such a huge upgrade in GPU from what I currently have. Cooler: I only picked that model because I already have one in my current PC - picking a cheaper one frees up money for better RAM & motherboard, and I can always swap it into the old box and move my current one to the new build if needed. Thanks for the tip, I know very little about coolers and until my current PC was overheating, had never bought one before. Blu-Ray: I can't find any Blu-ray reader that doesn't also write, even though I don't want a Blu-ray writer. The optical drive I picked is the cheapest Blu-ray reader they seem to have unfortunately. I'm unsure where else to look for one since they list from all the PC part suppliers I know of. OS I think I can get the Win 7 Pro version through Dreamspark. Otherwise I will buy Home version, looks to be about $50 cheaper. it's only Windows 10 that is a problem with Home vs Pro what with the automatic updates. Our internet is both slow and metered, and we cannot get better until we get the NBN which we won't have for 3-5 years at best. The best DL speed I get is about 300-350kbps. I get constant stuttering in Heroes of the Storm as it is, I don't need anything making it even worse. Changing ISP won't help as they don't control the 30yr old copper we have to use. Sound Card: Awesome, don't need one then! Money saved <3 Network Card: Gigabyte GA-Z170-D3H ATX LGA1151 Motherboard - does this one have what I need, as in I don't need a network card on top of it? Case: Floor. I don't really know what size I need. I picked a nice looking case that supports a 330mm graphics card, the card I picked is 300mm, so I assume that means it will fit? It looks heavy but I can't lift my current case anyway, it's an older Antec Twelve Hundred (no usb 3 ports).
  15. I played a Dark Side trooper and it was hilarious, you get to be a massive jerk to everyone. Light side would probably be a bit boring though. Remember that the level 60 tokens don't give you any credit towards the legendary status thing. I haven't used my level 60 token yet, idk what to do with it either. I'd probably use it to try out a new server maybe? Otherwise it would might be a good idea to use it for a class you have the mirror of since you would already know how to play the character well enough.
