  1. As Watchman with Defensive Forms, I build Centering so fast it's a waste not to pop it whenever it's up. I use it on Strongs (Silvers) all the time.
  2. I model my smuggler after Talon Karrde and Han Solo. Talon's objectivity and loyalty to no-one but his crew. Han's sarcastic, arrogant, scrapper. Either way, not popular personalities for Corso or Bowdarr. I mean, I got my companions' backs. But I'm a smuggler...I want to get paid dammit. I'm thinking my smuggler might develop more a Republic-friendly conscience as his story progresses. But for now, he's a profit-minded smuggler-for-hire. Suck it Corso. If I have to punch a lady to get some answers, so be it.
  3. This happened to me too. I enlisted a 50 guildie to help out. I thought I was missing a mechanic in the fight. Guess it's "don't attack when everyone else does."
  4. O trust me, by the time you get a Sentinel to 46 you know all about interupts. I died before I touched Krannus. I tried to clear the adds and got smoked from behind in about 10 seconds. I popped a few CDs as Doc died and made a run for the bombs thinking i could regroup while my military buddies kept Krannus busy. No such luck, they got splattered, he ran me down, fade to black.
  5. Last night I finally chased down Executor Krannus on Belsavis and lemme tell you...that is not an easy encounter. In the end I had to enlist the aid of a guildie (who happened to be 50) to take him down. I still died. And fast, though my friend easily toppled Krannus. I'm wondering if anyone else thought this encounter was really hard. I was 46 too, 3 levels above the quest difficulty. Geared. I've never had any problems soloing class quests with my Sentinel (Angral was a wuss). Is there a mechanic I missed? Some trick I should have utilized? Or does he always hit like a truck?
  6. Early on it is difficult to use those 2 abilities. But at higher levels its quite easy with awe, leap, and sweep I'm waiting for the pommel and opportune cds to finish, not the conditional skills. Also, using Doc, he has carbonite freeze which allows use of those skills.
  7. The gaited aspect of the dailies was both good and bad: I like uncovering more of the mystery each day, but if you missed too many days you were completely outta luck. Thankfully, I got in the event on the last possible day for the whole set. I liked the reward crystals and customizations, but hated how I could (and did) get 3 Tharan customs in a row. I agree that they should have been pricier and then we could pick which we wanted. Or at the absolute least be random but not give us more than 2 of any 1 customization. All in all though, I enjoyed the event a lot. It made Tatooine feel like an active community and low level players were never excluded from world bosses.
  8. See title... I just switched from SS to Sab, but I'm wondering if Sab is viable at this early level or if I should stay SS until I get Sabotage.
  9. I'm also rocking matching Elegant Modified Guns (aug) - Armstech has a use! They aren't the best looking, but cheap to make and matching. Looking forward to getting matching E-300 Sonic Needlers tho. They're like old timey guns!
  10. Does anyone have recommendations on how best to gather the blood samples necessary to trade for the event items???
  11. If it were meant to be purely social aesthetics, Bio wouldn't have put mod slots on it. WoW did this, special event social gear with 5 armor and no stats. That is true aesthetic gear. Social armor in SWTOR is called that because the requirements are based on a player's Social level.
  12. I'm just annoyed it's light armor. It should scale to whomever equips it. It would look great on a tank or trooper. I only wish my Smuggler was high enough level to get the armor.
  13. I was under the impression that what leveling a species to 50 got you is the ability to make any other class that species. Because a human Sith Warrior has tattoo options, but not a Jedi. The presense buff is because every class can already be human. As opposed to Chiss, for instance, which can only be 2 classes.
  14. Pre 1.2 we could wear head armor if we didn't mind serious clipping. But never hoods. Now it seems we can't wear anything. So choose your headband wisely on the character creation screen when you roll a Twilek. You'll be seeing a lot of it.
  15. I agree, Smuggler story is funny and enjoyable. Scoundrel and Gunslinger are extremely different. Generally speaking, Gunslinger is a glass cannon hiding behind cover to unleash dual blaster death. This is what I use and it's so much fun. Scoundrel is a stealth-based close range fighter using 1 blaster and a scattergun (shotgun). Imo, it's awkward fighting in melee range with a gun without any gap closers. I am pure PvE so I can't speak from a PvP pov. I'd say decide whether you want a cover-based/ranged or stealth/melee
  16. Do you want to be a cold, calculating, James Bond and work for the man? Be an Agent. Do you want to be a cocky, smartmouthed, funny scoundrel and work for yourself? Be a Smuggler. They both have good storylines (from what I hear) but the Smuggler conversations are much funnier. My main is a Jedi and everytime I go back to her from my Smuggler I get let down from the lack of smartmouthed humor in her conversations.
  17. I think more people rolled Smugglers and Troopers early on because of the Han Solo archetype and the bad***** trooper style. But lately it seems more and more people are rolling Jedi. I think they are the more versatile classes in PvP due to mobility. And while my main is a Sentinel, I Love My Gunslinger!
  18. To continue/emphasize your point: Think of any real life military mission. Aren't they all assassinate someone [elite boss], rescue a prisoner [think early Tython], do recon [explore X], collect intel [slice computer terminal], hold a position [PvP WZ]? Yep. MMOs are an extension of these core mission types. Just with proper stories to accompany them.
  19. You have to use the quest items on the infected sandpeople to get the wrappings. they're yellow, not red aggressive. after you get the wrappings, start killing those same infecteds. They will spawn new infected sandpeople which drop the items you need.
  20. I'm not worried. All SWTOR needs is a server consolidation so that the fleet and planets aren't so vacant all the time. After that, grouping will be easier, socializing will be more fun, and the universe will feel like a universe instead of an instance due to seeing nobody around. That's my suggestion. And here's my praise: I LOVE SWTOR. The patches just make it better every time, I love the world event, the class stories are great, companion interaction is fun, and conversation is sweet.
  21. Thank you for saving me the time typing all that out myself. You're right, SWTOR has plenty to do. The voice acting is anything but vanilla. And the companion system is unique, at least for me. I'm an altoholic, and having so many unique story lines keeps that fun every time. And isn't the first release of WoW called vanilla now? The first release is always vanilla compared to all the add-ons and changes made over years of patches and playing.
  22. If you want tanking to be an option, choose Guardian. Do you think swinging 1 or 2 lightsabers is cooler? Sentinel=2, Guardian=1. Guardians get Force Push eventually, that's a pretty iconic ability. They both have the same class story so choose which you think more suits you. I think the Sentinel is the better advanced class, personally. But that's me.
  23. Alderaan is gorgeous. Tatooine is a vast epic expanse. Why is Quesh even on your list?? There's nothing there.
