  1. Eh. I tanked in WoW. I've been of the opinion that tanking is often the easiest job. The trick is to design encounters that take advantage of this: tanks should have the most demanding positioning requirements and be required to do additional work for encounters. Tank swapping is by far the most basic job to give them. Add pickup and kiting is another common job. swtor hasn't really offered any encounters with more than the most basic tank jobs thus far.
  2. Uh... some of the defenses you listed their are mutually exclusive. And I'm pretty sure concussion round lasts 6 seconds. And just about every class has similar cc/knockback abilities. And as far as I know the only damage reduction that's smaller than 25% lasts nearly twice as long. I said last place and I meant it. The only class I can think of with worse defenses is maybe scoundrel, but afaik they're supposed to stealth and avoid fair fights. Would you care to point out a class our defenses are superior to?
  3. The number one way I see the opposition score in Huttball is because someone tried to guard the ramps and a sith warrior leapt to them, pushed them off, and proceeded unhindered to the goal line.
  4. The Commando nerfs were the equivalent to simply removing the hp->force ability from the game completely.

  8. If you play to the strengths and "put in the effort" Bodyguard heals a single target fine. So do the other two healers. And the difference between their tank healing and the Bodyguard's is minimal. And tools? What tools? You should be using every single heal you have, obviously, but at what point is there ever a choice about it? There is no choosing between HoTs or direct heals, no shields to buffer allies in expectation of damage. No ability to AoE heal more than the cooldown on kolto bomb allows. No combo that isn't built into the preferred heal anyway. I am forever baffled by people who claim all the whiners are not using the class to the fullest potential. What potential? If you weren't using all your abilities then you were probably wiping anyway.
  9. Harpoon still roots players that are immune to the pull? Wow. I'm pretty sure concussion charge doesn't even slow them if they had full resolve.
  10. By your logic salvation should be cut in half because clearly sorcerers shouldn't need it as long as the dps aren't morons.
  11. Yeah. On my commando I hated it, and always maintained that it was unfairly in favor of people with leaps/pulls. Now that I have a vanguard I can say with certainty that it is DEFINITELY unfair towards people who don't have those abilities. It's night and day difference.
  12. I thought Hammershot was more like 3 shots? If it is actually 7 shots then the odds of proccing Plasma on one of them are ~70%
  13. Only thing we have I can think of that another class doesn't is stealth scan... Which frankly is really underwhelming since it's stuck on the global cooldown and doesn't even snare players you hit with it.

  15. It's not like either classes non-crappy heals are particularly awe-inspiring.
  16. Another patch just came through. No fix. Maybe consider changing the thread title to one of the bugs that are actually a problem would help? Curtain of Fire is one of hte few things that DOES work.
  17. The concept of voidstar is good, but the design is hideously bad. Huttball would be perfect were it not such a humongous middle finger to classes with no leaps/pulls. The new wz is basically Civil War except they fixed all of CW's biggest issues (all or nothing captures and far too difficult recovery from early failures). I like it.

    The troopers base mitigation against kinetic/energy will be higher than anything that isn't in a tank stance (or also in heavy armor). It won't be higher by much (not even close enough to make up for the poor trooper cooldowns), but it will be higher.

    You have to move instantly (and not be snared at all) if you want even a chance of escape the THIRD hit of it. It reaches out like 10 meters to get you once activated, and the first two strikes are more or less immediate; you simply cannot dodge the majority of the damage.
  20. You are pretty horrible at the game if you're letting even half of their attacks hit you.
  21. I think people (and Bioware) overvalue the instant nature of Kolto Bomb vs. salvation. Salvation people immediately spot and move into; if it "missed" them they can move into it and only lose a fraction of its benefit. For kolto bomb, they had to already be in the proper position; if it misses it misses. Kolto Cloud is even worse (in my opinion) because it can still miss, but still isn't instant. Don't get me wrong; instant AoE hp is nothing to sneeze at, and when 2-4 players need hitpoints and are near each other kolto bomb is definitely the ability you want to use. Being able to use it while running is great. It just doesn't compare to Salvation in the slightest.
  22. Nah you're underestimating just how easy storymode is. Even Denova. We pulled Toth and Zorn with the trash they have before them, and I (Gunnery Commando) got chased around by them for like 20 seconds, and we still nearly killed them (enrage at like 5%).
