  1. Yep, pretty much - it's your choice. If you're about the story, definitely do Makeb and Oricon...I personally liked them a lot. But if you do skip, don't fret the gear - I failed to mention that FA storyline gives you some 162 or 168 (can't remember) green gear to get you going. Won't help your companion, but as Essence said, bolster is your friend
  2. Agree with Essence's post, and I also suggest that you do Oricon as well (there's a starter quest droid on the fleet). You get almost a full 156 rated set by doing the quest line there. Then, once you finish that, head to the Forged Alliance solo FP quests...and then on to Rishi The Rishi quest line gives you most of the 168/178 rated items you need for your toon to keep going. I'm still doing the quest, and my 162/168's are working fine, and I'm not dying. My comps typically have crap gear outside of the one I use most often - you can usually find reasonably priced blues and greens on the GTN for their needs.

    Arena Simulator?

I've always wondered why there is no PvP simulator or something similar - I'd love that. Also love the comment above mine, about buying arenas like Strongholds - that would be frigging awesome.
  4. So much win in this thread /signed
  5. I was logged in most of the day, left to come home, and now I'm getting either Login Service Unavailable or No Servers in the list. East Coast, TWC is my provider at home and at my other location. I did get in once after being home, but left for a few min and it had kicked me out.
  6. Howdy, That's quite a loaded question lol - so much has changed in the game, I'm not sure where to start. I can cover post-50 Dailies, as that is mostly what I have experience with...I dabble in PvP and rarely do FP/Ops, so while I can touch on those topics, probably best that others do so. 50 used to stop at Ilum, Belsavis Bonus and Corellia-Black Hole. Now, you have the ROTHC expansion and 2 additional planets/daily areas beyond that. Makeb (ROTHC) can be initiated on your ship around L48 or so; there's a cutscene, and you're directed to the planet. Makeb is a relatively regular-sized world, with a planet-wide quest, as well as dailies. IMO, I love Makeb - I farmed it for a while, and I haven't yet gotten sick of it. Along with Makeb is the introduction of GSI dailies - they span the galaxy, but you can't get them until L52. Too much to write about them, so in that regard (and all of this, because I'm not perfect), I suggest you take a look at Dulfy.net to fill in the blanks. Not that you need to finish Makeb first, but beyond that, there are 2 additional daily planets - CZ-198 and Oricon. Both have starter quests on the fleet, and I suggest getting them prior to going so you get extra comms, etc. CZ is pretty easy and straight-forward...a few quests, some 2-man Flashpoints, and a weekly. Oricon is a bit more difficult, and it adds a small planet quest. Once you're done with that, you get dailies, a weekly, and 2 Ops. Oricon, IMO, is good for comms and if you don't have decent gear, the planet quests get you started on the gear you need for HM FPs and other things. It can be tough if undergeared and there is a lot of griefing (at least, there was)...but I enjoy it. The Comm system has changed - you have Classic (old Black Hole/Campaign), Basic, Elite, and Ultimate. I don't typically mess with Classic...Basic is good to get you your Black Market gear, Elite your Arkanian, and Ultimate is the best you can do without doing Ops for tokens and drops. Get Basics from Makeb and beyond, then the Weeklies, HM FP weeklies and Ops get you Elites/Ults. Ops give you more of each. Some of what I said could be in error, so I apologize in advance if that's the case. But I hope this helps you get started...I can sorta answer PvP or Ops questions, but again, I don't do much of those. Good Luck!
  7. As someone who's played this game since beta, I'm almost ashamed that I didn't know you could disable the cover quickbar. Thank you guys for pointing this out...it always annoyed the crap out of me Always good to learn something new! Cheers!
  8. Just wanted to say - awesome thread! I had some good laughs during my lunch hour today! #111 - Trying to ram the defense satellites (yes, I did this...once)

  10. Thank you so much for the reply! I'll take a look when I'm back at my cargo hold...I guess my eyes are not as good as they used to be Take care, and thanks again!
  11. Sorry if this has been posted already, I wasn't able to find anything...so maybe I was just phrasing my searches incorrectly. Anyway, I just noticed this when trying to swap armor inserts to my companions. It used to be that, if an armor insert was bound to a particular slot (say, head or chest), it would say so next to the armor title/number: Advanced Resolve Armor 25 (Head) I do not see this anymore and without trying a piece of armor on every one of my legacy sets, I cannot determine where it is bound to. Has anyone else noticed this? If so, is it intended or is it a bug?
  12. ^ winning - I would like to buy you a beverage of your choice.
  13. That sucks, because I love the design on the helmet. I was hoping I could complete the set, but oh well... Thanks for the info, much thanks!
