  1. About Us Old Republic Dads is located on Shadowlands and is specifically tailored to the working adult and/or parent who cannot afford to spend countless hours on an MMO when life's priorities demand our attention. We are a coalition of dads, moms, and professionals. Our guild offers an adult community that specializes in casual play and who want to enjoy Star Wars: The Old Republic. We understand life has its challenges; family, careers, military, education, etc. All these things must take precedence over MMOs and gaming in general, although we manage to find some way to squeeze it in. We are a part of the MOG Nation gaming community which is committed to the following concepts: • Players with a mutual respect for each other • Having an open mind to the schedules of working professionals and parents • Encompassing a wide range of play styles from Hardcore to Casual • Players interested in ALL aspects of MMO game play from PvP to PvE to Crafting and Exploration • Players not afraid to branch out and try many different games • Community members that want to engage in productive discussions about the gaming industry In short our guild offers the casual, laid back, & good natured enjoyment of Star Wars: The Old Republic with like-minded adults. If you have yet to find a guild that feels like it is a good fit for both your personal and virtual life, please consider becoming an Old Republic Dad! Raiding: Old Republic Dads is involved with raiding. Our current team runs Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays 9:30pm EST to 11:30pm EST with a rotating membership. We use StarParse and Mumble. PvP: Old Republic Dads is not a hardcore PvP guild. That being said, there are members who do enjoy PvP . Planetary Conquest: Old Republic Dads were heavily involved in Conquests. We have taken every Republic planet we have invaded and have a ship for our Imperial guild, Old Imperial Dads, so that our Imperial alts can get involved in conquering planets as well. Our strength lies on the Republic side, though. We tied with two other guilds for World First Galactic Conqueror. We continue to Conquest but only as a means for players to get the weekly mat rewards. If you are interested in joining our guild, please Apply Here. If you have any questions, please send me a message.
  2. After days of grinding Ilum's Republic Heroic, I finally got the Dark Aim Datacron drop off the daily mission "Crystal Clear Sabotage" in the Eastern Ice Shelf/Western Jedi Ruins off an Imperial Demolitionist that spawns during that mission. Halla'freakin'lujah. Ugh.
  3. Alderaan, Imperial Mission Shock Doctrine has rewarded the Light Willpower 2 of 2 times in the blue mission reward box you get when you turn the completed mission back in. This is the Heroic 4 that you take the "special" thranta taxi to at Elysium Recon Camp.
  4. Quesh, Imperial side, Light Cunning Datacron dropped from Foreman Telleon in Imperial Mining Control Area. A guildee and I went thru all six champions (Rogue Cartel Warbot, Foreman Telleon, Yanu Selke, Master Saryta, The Colossus, and Lord Rhexa) as available to faction. The datacron did not drop again. Just have your droid pack you a nice lunch and enjoy the drive around Quesh until it drops for you.
  5. On the Republic side, Hoth, I received the Light Datacron: Aim in the Heroic 4: Prisoner Extraction, which is the heroic you pick up inside Aurek Base. Once inside the heroic bear to the right (Player @ -2342, 113) and and you'll find an Imperial Guerilla Commando (84k HP). The datacron actually came off the puny Imperial specialist (8k HP) beside him.
  6. I received the Light Datacron (Presence) on Taris doing the Republic Mission Fall of the Locust (Heroic 4). The Locust Guard Captain inside the Locust Hideout drops it.
  7. I'm posting what I did to give those who are having trouble with this mission, some hope - and probably a chuckle or two at my dumb***** luck for actually finishing it. It took me two frustrating evenings, and I died 5 times before I beat it. I was playing my Level 55 Inquisitor who was wearing (1) Pristine Artifact Item, and the rest were an assortment of 51s and 58s. I gave up using HK (my best geared) on night two and after wipe #3. I pulled out Talos Drellik who was wearing (3) Level 50 blue items, mods as low as 34, implants at 37, and his earpiece was 38 (these are all green). Needless to say I was only hoping he'd keep me alive long enough to figure out where the generators were I was supposed to be throwing the Isotope rods at. I knew the general area where they were *supposed* to be, but repeated attempts at finding them failed. I died during attempt 4 finally finding the generators. My humble suggestions are stay under the droids belly - its easier to stay out of his AoEs; The Laser he uses is easy enough to avoid with line of sight, just hide behind the columns; Talos rarely if ever took damage, I just kept toggling him out of laser range so he stayed by my side. Targeting the recharge droids is hellish, tabbing didn't work; I kept a "bleeder" on the boss and targeted the recharge droids when they ran out while I waited for the orange force fields behind the Boss to go down. Now for the Isotope rods - after you kill a recharge droid you get a yellow light indicating you can scavenge the rod, pick one up (you'll have to pick one up twice). There are two rooms found in the back wall behind the boss, initially they'll each have their own orange force field engaged. You can only gain access to what's in these rooms when the force fields are down (one at a time). As you look into each of the rooms, the generators are against the left wall of the left room, and the right wall of the right room. Mousing over the generators (with an isotope rod in your inventory and the force field down) did NOT cause them to highlight and be clickable. I had to place my mouse in the center of the generator (so maybe 2/3rds down from the roof of the generator room) until it highlighted the generator. This was VERY persnickety - I had to have my mouse in the very center of the top edge of the generator for it to highlight and then be clickable. Maybe it was a bug in my instances, but after finally figuring out this little "trick" it was simple enough to disable both generators and beat down the boss. Hope that helps someone. Good luck!
  8. I see quite a few on my journeys. Interested folks can always whisper to a guild name they recognize.
  9. Guild: Council of Dragons / Light in the Darkness Faction: Republic / Imperial GM: Sh'ahde / R'haven Type: PVE Officers: Whi'ann, Benzene Recruiting: We are a small social guild recruiting casual players. We welcome F2P and Subscribed players; those that play daily, or only now and again. Ideal players are friendly, helpful, and can access our Mumble account. We currently do not participate in our own organized Raids. +21 encouraged, conversation can be "lively". Email in-game if interested.
  10. Overall I'm happy with the event. I've completed dailies for it every day, and normally cycle thru all my 50s to max the reputation tokens. I love the look of the "new" Ilum and the Gray Secant (well done Devs!). But, like many others I find the ganking and overall harassment in the Gree Enclave area atrocious. I have no problem with PVP, no issue with doing dailies inside the PVP zone, being flagged for PVP, or random acts of violence against my toon in pursuit of an objective. Big deal, it's a PVP zone. However, when it's constant 4 on 1 and 5 on 1 it becomes an exercise in patience. And I'm not paying a subscription to learn patience. Or am I?! I'd love to know how the Developers strategized soloing "Charging the Pylons" when a guild camps the area and defends it. (A tutorial video on YouTube would be ever so helpful.) So how about the Gree put their very smart noggins together and come up with a device usable in the Contested Area that renders all gear/weaponry useless except our Legacy unlocks for barroom brawling. It would at least give those abilities a more worthy use than the afterthought that they are. And perhaps result in some of us feeling better about showing up to our execution, and who knows, we might all wind up at the Slippery Slope telling tales and buying rounds of ale.

  12. Well, Christmas is all about giving and sharing, so here's something to keep you occupied while we wait: Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker were having one of their little father and son chats... lightsabers drawn and sparks flying. Vader pinned Luke against a bulkhead and glared into his face, "I know what you're getting for Christmas, Luke," he said, "Ohhh, yes! I know!" Luke fought himself free and jumped to a higher platfrom just out of Vader's reach, "How do you know!?" Luke yelled at him, "How do you know what I'm getting for Christmas!?" Darth Vader shot Luke an icy glare, "The force is with me... I felt your presents."
  13. I've figured it out...You know when you lock the kids out of the room so Santa can leave gifts under the tree...
  14. Hey! That's my kind of Christmas cheer! My old rotten Rotty would sometimes get so caught up "in the moment" he'd unwrap everyone's gift under the tree!
  15. We lost access ~11:00am PST. Login service is now unavailable. I think the error message was "4001" originally but we can't even get back to that anymore. Ugh. House cleaning it is then...
