  1. Hi everyone, just as the title says, I'm a returning player and I've been playing off and on since launch. Now that the game has settled I think I'm going to keep subscribing (as long as the game continues development). I have many different characters from both Republic and Empire and I'm looking for guilds for both sides. I'm mainly into PvE, leveling, story, and socializing. Thanks and it's good to be back!
  2. You mean Revan? A *RAVEN* is a crow; Revan is the greatest sith lord ever, next to Darth Bane.
  3. EA just announced a Star Wars sandbox game a la Assassin's Creed. Whether or not it will be good is a completely different matter. I think it'll be great, however. EA may suck at MMOs, but they're pretty good at single-player stuff.
  4. Belsavis by a long shot. Close second would be Voss. Voss just seems so un-Star Wars-y...it looks like something from WoW or GW.
  5. All you people who liked The Avengers and Ironman movies: guess who owns Marvel Comics? DISNEY. Both of those titles are already better than Episodes 1-3. If anything, Disney will improve Star Wars. As long as they stick to canon, it will be an improvement. I'm sure there's a clause that Lucas requires they stick to canon.
  6. "I'm currently playing a first-person shooter but I'm pissed off that I can't play it like a flight simulator, and it's all the fault of the developer. It's my money, I play however I want."
  7. Hi guys! I've recently just started getting into all the SW literature after all these years, after having been recommended the Darth Bane trilogy (which I love). I was wondering what else I should seek out? Thanks!
  8. Didn't happen to look at the date at the top, did you? June 15, 2012. Maybe they were talking about the F2P until level 15, because that's already in effect.
  9. None of those are RPGs...with the exception of Zelda and Deus Ex...and Deus Ex is more of an RPG than Zelda.
  10. Ergo. Don't use it if you don't know how to spell it.
  11. Why would a company based out of Austin, Texas care about a UK holiday? How would it affect them in the slightest? Italy just had a holiday recently, should BW take the day off for that as well? I believe Germany also had a recent holiday...let's make concessions for every single country on the face of the earth whose inhabitants play SWTOR! That way even less could get done!
  12. I cleared the Corellia Heroic with two guildies and a pet healer in about 20 minutes. Sounds like you're just a bad player.
  13. Posts like the OP's makes me glad I play Eve Online and reassures me that all other MMOs are for pansies. I'm really not missing out on anything, I see. I still love SWTOR, but only because it's SW. Next thing you know, people will be complaining about dying in PvP, and how they're not gonna pay to play a game in which you die. Seriously, LAWL @ the tears over a repair bill. You wouldn't last one second in Eve.
  14. There's a difference between a patch day and maintenance time. Is this your first MMO? If you can't go a single day without playing because they're ADDING CONTENT, you need to really, really, really get a hold of yourself and pull your head out. Go outside. Go to work. Go watch a movie. Go read a book. Go try and get a girlfriend. If you fail at all of those, then just get out of my game and never come back. In fact, never play any MMOs ever again because you're nothing but an albatross around everyone's neck.
  15. If you want open-world gameplay, come play Eve Online with us. I came into this game knowing it's a theme park MMO. Your complaining that it's a theme park MMO is like going to McDonald's and complaining that they don't serve pizza. SWTOR isn't groundbreaking, but it's fun. If you're looking for groundbreaking gameplay in an MMO, you're going to be disappointed from the start. There is no MMO on earth that is completely groundbreaking because that's the nature of MMOs. SWTOR IS more fun that most other MMOs, however, if you're a fan of SW. The game has been out for a month and a half, what do you expect? MMOs by definition aren't finished products because they have to continually update and change.
  16. I changed to Watchman a few hours ago. I have to say that the amount of damage difference even from just a level 38 like me was quite surprising. It's a bit slower due to the lack of the other stance available only in Combat (the name eludes me now). However, the actual killing isn't necessarily slower...just the rotation. With Combat, you're as busy as a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest with your rotation. With Watchman it seems the abilities are more effective. Also, I'm staying at full health nearly constantly with Doc as my companion, whereas before I was having to rest quite regularly after a fight. It's difficult to describe. After respeccing, I'd say Combat is a bit more for crowd control and is a sort of "Attention Deficit Disorder" class due to the timing and such. Watchman feels a bit slower but also feels a bit less spastic. BOOM...he's dead; that sort of thing. If you played both specs as they're supposed to be played and are skilled enough to do so, I'd say that the difference would be negligible. Combat also appealed to me from the beginning, but 38 levels later and after a bit of difficulty with an especially difficult elite every now and then, coupled with getting bored spamming the same rotation over and over again, Watchman kinda feels more like a relaxing breath of fresh air. It's slower, sure, but for now I like spamming three abilities instead of six to get a kill on a regular mob.
  17. First of all, your English is very good. I live in Italy and I teach English as a freelance teacher (I'm American), and I wish more people here had your grasp of the English language as well as you do. Io direi che tu sei AL MENO un B2/C1 in inglese...quindi, stai tranquillo. As for the question, I have the same problem. I'm leveled up in Combat as well, so do you guys think I should go Watchman? I don't PvP that much, but that's just because I'm only level 38 and Huttball is as boring as watching grass grow. I mainly do PvE stuff and only PvP when I'm bored/want a change of pace. I think I'm gonna try to respec Watchman. Any suggestions?
  18. Ok, I'm only level 38 but I have to agree wholeheartedly. How is it that a trooper can LITERALLY one shot an entire mob and level them, while I have to whittle them down with about as much effect as a butter knife has whittling down a piece of wood? I mean, I'm effective with my Sentinel and quite efficient in killing mobs, but they're still JEDI! Not saying they should just be rolling over anything in their path, but the feeling of being a Jedi is missing in this class. Underpowered doesn't even begin to touch the description of Sentinels. As it stands now, Sentinels feel like the Diet Coke of all the classes. Maybe they become ungodly powerful around 50, I dunno. I certainly hope they do. They either need to be buffed or other classes nerfed if they don't improve at higher levels.
  19. Bah, I can understand people who are used to playing a sandbox like Eve Online (like myself) ************ about this game, but LOTRO, WoW, and Aion players ************? Seriously? What did you think you were going to get? SWTOR is already leagues ahead of the other games in terms of speed of leveling, gameplay, single-player focused storylines, and longevity. This game can go further than any of the previously mentioned games (aside from Eve maybe), BUT IT'S ONLY BEEN OUT FOR ONE MONTH. Every other game has been out already for years and SWTOR is honestly on par with all of them. Sure, it doesn't have all their features, but they spent years on those features. Patience, padawans. Take your ADD medication.
  20. There is a search function in the auction house.
  21. I just hit level 31 and haven't seen a single bug, actually. A bug is something that inhibits your gameplay experience. I've only come across ability delay once in PvP and never in PvE. Either I'm lucky or all the bugs have hit the higher levels. Regardless, this game rules. /thread
  22. Agree with the OP. I think that an instance overhaul is definitely needed, first and foremost. It doesn't have to automatically port you to an instance like WoW, but there should at least be some sort of queue mechanic where you can at least group up without having to spam chat for hours on end. Also, it would be helpful if there were some sort of beaming/warping/summoning mechanic just like in every. other. MMO. If I'm on Nar Shadaa and I wanna do an instance on Taris, I should be able to queue up for the specific instance and then when the group is ready, if there are enough people there should be some sort of beaming/warping/summoning place that can get me there much more quickly than running all the way back to my ship, undocking, then having to dock back up on a different planet. Simplification doesn't necessarily always mean dumbing down, especially when it could enhance gameplay significantly. People are just skipping instances because it's a pain in the *** to simply get there. That said, I realize it's only been a couple of weeks, and I already prefer the vanilla version of SWTOR than every other MMO out there today, aside from Eve.
