They wont see you until they get close enough, at which point they see you as you do, glowing blue outlines.

How exactly would this idea hurt?

Someone mentioned that RL snipers use camouflage, and not stealth. I would be in favor of something simple, such as turning off the red nameplate of enemy snipers / gunslingers when they are in cover, and briefly turning back on when they pop up to shoot at someone.

Several games do this: EQ2, Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, pretty sure RIFT as well. Heck even Maplestory has skills split for PvP. Could even make it so you could see both tooltips when you hover over the ability, there is no argument against this that i can think of and still makes sense.

The sniper having the ability to stealth only in PvE, with no abilities such as sap, brings no harm to the operative It will never happen though.

I honestly don't know why this isn't done. Nearly every time there is an update something gets buffed or nerfed for PvP or PvE that negatively impacts the other, and many times is an uncalled for change. As a quick example many people would know....the huge round of changes that nearly destroyed concealment Operatives in PvP, because of PvP, severely impacted the same tree in PvE, mostly ridiculous changes that made no sense if one did not PvP. Jarring strikes 3 second knockdown was ridiculous in PvP, to be sure, but was a highly useful ability for the leveling Agent. And honestly increasing backstabs cooldown to 12 seconds did absolutely nothing for PvP, but hurt PvE Operatives for no reason other than for the sake of PvP balance.. A more recent change being inquisitors Overload ability, and all similar abilities, being changed from a circular knockback to a cone knockback. TL;DR : Separate skills for PvP and PvE and balance each game separately.

I just don't understand why they cant split abilities for pve and pvp...several games do so to great effect. Its simple, allow the stealth mechanic to be available in PvE, and when you are flagged for PvP disable the skill, everybody wins.....

I can see your logic to him mastering the light, but the 'all mighty creator' himself says it is impossible to master both sides of the force, no matter how special the case it cannot happen.

Probably like every other game with an in-game store as such. Using DDO as an example, you could apply a point card you purchased from somewhere like gamestop, or charge your credit card directly from the store UI.
