  1. Adding Rocket Punch or RB to flame thrower charges would be an ideal change, since its shorter/no cooldown cuts down on the FB spam. Flame Thrower is balanced by its long cooldown so I dont see why want it to require filler attacks to specifically service it.
  2. Pulse cannon will give us quite a strong snare to peel with, and sticky > FP > Stock > Gut > HIB > IP spam > pulse cannon should give it a nice burst fall off burst fall off burst rotation. Thats a nice rotation for someone with the option of doing it with tank cell and battle focus up. Maybe 15 seconds in total to go through the whole rotation of instants, build a 5 stack and channel pulse cannon. That should kill most things. Running HEC with it seems like a slow damage rotation for the same kill speed, but the Ion variant will be out of ammo without blowing reserve powercell on pulse cannon.
  3. That is insane. I've done multiple alts on current live and barely have the comms for a 20 set without a weapon if I start at 14 for sprint.

Ionic accel procing over an already cooled down bolt is just another reason for the idiotic ammo cost on incendiary missile to drop as well as the assault snare needing a decouple from plasma cell. If one of their goals is to make full specs more viable and this assault change goes through then they should make plastique free. Burnout stinks too but thats kind of an unrelated issue for heat management.
  5. What good is dps spec with no burst, a mara dumps all over this spec tree for both burst and sustain. If flame thrower has auto crit set up like a shadows harnessed shadows with force potency it would still stink due to the nature of the skill. Not to mention the cylinder itself that goes with spec is poor and incredibly unimaginative.
  6. I agree Bioware fails at design. Nerf commandos, or better yet delete them and offer a class reroll.
  7. RS isn't going to be every 6 seconds, you have to wait out the internal cool then use more gcds on abilities to proc it. It looks like it will be Rail > 6 sec wait > FB > FB > Rail. The higher proc on RP to trigger the initial internal cd in the rotation and then afterwards to try and make sure you get a proc at least every 10 seconds.
  8. Plasma Cell would be a lot better if it worked properly and we could get immediate damage off the proc on every Ion Pulse use like Powertechs. It can hit hard when it crits with assault trooper. HEC is indeed garbage however.
  9. Whats even the point of Ionic Accelerator now. They might as well just make it flat CD reduction on bolt if its going to average out at 9 sec per shot(6sec internal 2 gcds average per proc), or ditch SS on it and make pulse 100% chance. It comes out as a flat nerf considering the old 30% no internal cd refreshed bolt about every 3gcds, and it buffs up the burst people complained about by raising the chance of back to back bolts in the opening rotation.
  10. Assualt, Combat Medic, and Medic Hybrid nerfed across the board. More interesting gameplay consist of cast Full Auto more and still be useless when now nerfed Grav is interrupted. Pretty lazy and unneeded changes. Hybrid healer is the archetype I always play and it got just butchered here when its barely even played in the first place.

Van are still low pop and Mara is and still will be fotm, moreso probably now given that they nerfed almost everything else. 23-24/18-17 tactics/assault has got to edge full tactics still, and it will for as long as Fire Pulse continues to barely an edge Ion Pulse + Plasma Cell. If the new proc chance on Ionic Accel is high enough for 2/2 Pulse Generator to edge 2/3 instead of 3/3 Ionic Accel, or bearing whether new Combat Tacits is worth taking, then a full Tactics build would actually be punishing you for using the GCD on a Fire Pulse over a hybrid spec Ion Pulse for Pulse Generator procs.
  12. If you run parakeet its certainly bad. I expected it to be removed once they did it to shadows, and the internal cd was also expected. I'd still like to see the ammo on Icendiary missile drop however, and they didn't do anything with pulse generator.
  13. A lot of people vastly over complicate this game when its really pretty easy, or they base their judgements on hypothetical scenarios.

  15. Its ok, I wish healing wasn't trash until end game though. Overall it could definity use some mobility, combos, procs something.

  17. Its simply not possible that they make tank stats pve only then are too stupid to think people wouldn't use them anyway. They would have had to have never seen an mmo or rpg before. Much less worked on 2 or 3 of them prior that contained the exact same concept. It does if the op is ripping people for responding to his troll post.

Shadow talents and skills are always going to be some akward attempt to balance stealth ganker with melee caster with melee tank while having to burn up talents points for abilities that mimic roles that are inherent for other classes. While light armor can be made passable with tank stance for the dps specs when combined with cooldowns its behind dps pt/sentinel. The tank stance is in a decent place atm I'd agree but I think the class is always going to be in flux between strong and weak due to how its designed. Vans are always going to fall back on higher burst and guardians on unkillable/high utility. When the devs are messing with Shadow talents the concern will always be to make the concept viable first then to not breaking the other two widly differing class roles. Not that they can't make it all work, just that I don't expect them to pull it off after I took that ride with release version wow shaman for several years.
  19. If you just wan't to compare all dps specs against sent/mara then nothing is viable. Guardian is the best tank for peels but does little damage. These problems always arise when a game has more than one class per role. Hybrid leaning classes are less efficient at roles than pures. The Devs trying to turn a ranged cloth caster into a tank or a melee dps should have been a huge red flag for anyone trying to pick a safe/long term viable class at release.

  21. You all get that they deliberately designed the tank tree with a plethora of damage talents right? They also designed tanking stats and the way weapon/skill damage works so they are pve only. It would be a huge stretch to imagine all of this was somehow unintended.
  22. Merc hybrid is a funtional dps. Attacking as a healer hybrid in certain situations doesn't make you an automatic bad. If that were the case then everyone who doesn't roll a healer over a dps from day one is selfish and terrible. Also don't blame the player blame the game healer specs lack the dual funtionality that tank specs give by buffing utility/survival and damage at once. I'd love for tracer to buff an unload that leads to a buffed fusion missile but it doesn't work that way.
  23. I wouldn't go double pure dps + commando better to have a tank hybrid for guard/taunt where you don't need the mara/sent survival cheese. Otherwise your healer is turned into a 12 second reactive shield damage soak. Hybrid Van vs Sin is very debateable.
  24. Its a good change as long as they put enough thought into it to not break healer hyrbid viability.
  25. If full auto looked like a single target version of hail of bolts and had the option of playing the same central funtionality as force lightning for these classes I'd be a lot more satisfied with the trooperness of the trooper. The Smugglers Thermal Grenade is also the perfect animation for a basic trooper attack and would go a long way in that regard.
