  1. Amen to that Moonshadow... anyway user created content is far too easy to abuse, lets take for example that someone makes a level, and gives out a good reward for it in the form of a large sum of credits or equipment you can sell for a lot, the catch is you have to sit in this box for 15 minutes do nothing and collect your reward, so no, not a good idea at all...
  2. lol, sorry we don't have potions of any sort, this isn't Dungeons & Dragons in Space, but if you look in the Cartel Market you will find various XP-Boosters, and you get some for completing Class and Planetary Quests, but since you don't care for side-questing i'd suggest the Cartel Market for those Boosters or buy them on the GTN...
  3. like i said, by the end of our rotation most of the opposing party is dead, after that it's just picking off the remainder that survived the original onslaught of AoE effects before firing off the FW/OL, simple 1 or 2 hit kills... i don't go running around either, they come back to me in a staggered fashion usualy and die one by one as they approach... of course there's ranged attackers but, hello force pull... i find it amusing that i find strategies that are a bit unconventional but work really well for my team yet someone has to try to tell me i'm doing it wrong, if i'm doing it wrong then why does it work?..
  4. on the contrary, i know exactly what i was doing, i was using an uncommon strategy that most people would pass off as foolish, but in essence worked for us better than anyone here may expect... it may seem crazy to send the group flying in multiple directions thus reducing AoE opportunities but when you have next to no AoE skills it works quite well, especially if it's the last AoE you fire off in your rotation... thus making the stragglers that didn't die from the opening salvo easy pickings that die in 1 or 2 hits... as i said it's a strategy that worked for us your mileage may vary... i also don't just go off firing it off at random when the cooldown finishes, i use strategy, you gotta know when to use it and when not to...
  5. ok, this is how it worked in PvE for me before the change... i used a Shadow back then and my brother used a Sentinel, i'd cloak in move to the healer, backstab them drawing the group to me, my brother would Force Leap in and Force Sweep the group, less than a second later i would use Force Wave and send the entire group flying in all directions... at this point the enemy group is effectively gimped by almost half and scattered, making it easy to pick them off before they even got a chance to gang back up... since then i've had to change and adapt my strategy, but i feel the way we did it was the way it was originally intended... now it has lost most of its effectiveness unless you line up properly, it can't be done from the center of the group anymore... moreover it was a great panic button when you encountered a little too much resistance giving you the edge to make a hasty retreat...
  6. i think the OPs post is a joke post pointing out the silliness of those people on the other thread crying that they wanna kill their companions...
  7. to be clear i've never done the Gree event, due to hearing it's set in a PvP zone thus denying me the event... my contestment of this is nothing to do with the event but the principles of the matter... ever since i got griefed on my first MMORPG back when there weren't PvE/PvP servers, i've been against PvP, but back then if you got killed you dropped some of your loot or some of your hard worked for equipment, and in a small way i can see the motivation behind it even though i don't agree with it... i don't see the motivation in griefing when there is no reward for miscreant behavior in place, i had hoped that with time the removal of the rewards for PKing would have put a curb on it, but instead it brought out the worst of them, the ones that do it for their own laughs, the ones that sit there and prevent you from completing your goal, the stalkers that will instance hop with you... when i say i blame the PvP community for my total burning hate for PvP i mean it very sincerely... and all the arguments of "well, get out if you don't like it" or "your tears feed me" on a PvE server don't help to change my stance or opinion of PvPers and PvP in general, to me PvP is the root of all hate and conflict in an MMO and should be completely eradicated for the benefit of the communities at large... i'm sorry if i seem hateful or spiteful towards the PvP community but i truly am, i hate PvP with every fiber of my being, and it all comes down to how PvPers treat people that just wanna play in peace... so for me it's not the event but my principles...it's sad that a group of people with no respect for others can make someone hate a game they loved, it happened to me once on another game, i don't want it to happen with this game too... sorry this was longer than i intended, i just wanted to say it wasn't about the event for me, then i started thinking of why i loath PvP, and thought it fair to share my point of view in hopes that maybe someone would understand where i'm coming from...
  8. see that's the mindset of "PvP or Get Out" i'm talking about... the whole point of disabling the flags on a PvE server is so we can do the quest missions without harassment... some of us chose the PvE server under the impression that we would not have PvP involved in any way, that we can do quests and Special Events without harassment, and i know the pompous arrogant reply of "well stay out then"... and that's not the point or solution, i proposed a solution that is fair to everyone... would it really twist y'alls knickers so bad to see someone in a contested zone you can't target and attack?.. have we as a species devolved so far that our primary means of entertainment is harassing others and trying to strong-arm them into things they don't wanna do, or prevent them from enjoying themselves in a manner that disturbs no one, for our own amusement?.. i guess some people have it in their heads that if they can just get us that object to it to PvP, then we'd all like it then we'd all wanna join in on their fun, but i for one don't like PvP, and you can blame the PvP community for it, the griefers that like to harass others for their own twisted amusement, then have the gall to say "deal with it or get the frack out" (on a PvE server no less)... i guess there's no reasoning for those that don't want a fair system in place... i know i may seem to be rambling as i try to make sense of this mentality, but i truly don't understand this viewpoint of "PvP or get the frack out" on a PvE server, i don't understand the hate geared towards those that don't want player conflict on a server designated as Co-Op... this whole thing is a Wookie living on Endor, it doesn't make any sense... i rolled on a PvE server for one reason, a simple reason... PvE=Co-Op, PvP= Competitive, i wanted to play with others in peace, not against them... there's an appropriate server for PvP griefing behavior, and it's not the PvE servers...
  9. absolutely not, there is no reason whatsoever to have PvP at all on a PvE server... i can understand manually flagging for people that wanna duel and stuff, but under no circumstances should we be auto-flagged for being anywhere on a PvE server... a better idea would be for us to have a check-box in the options menu for "Never Flag for PvP", that way we're not denied a part of the game just because someone decides it's funny to grief other players... that way we can go in, do our thing, not be denied access to a part of the game, and not get griefed by PvP Elitists... i know that will burn the butts of the PvPers that want to force us into "PvP or get out", but we should not have just two negative options given to us, we need a positive option on the servers designated as Co-Op... otherwise remove PvE from the server descriptions cause that's just misleading...
  10. i totally agree with Mini-games and Swoop Racing... Swoop Racers are a completely different monster from Speeder Bikes, i don't expect we'll see anyone using a conventional Speeder or STAP on a Swoop Track, that's like taking the family sedan and entering it into Nascar, lol...
  11. wait till Battlefront III, it should have exactly what you're looking for and set in the Star Wars universe...
  12. personally i'd love to walk through a battlefield or whatever, no other player able to impede my progress... look at all the fools fighting each-other, let them, i"m achieving my goal... anyway you can't use being a Sith as an excuse for same faction killing... it would have been totally counterproductive for say, Vader to walk through the halls of the Deathstar killing Stormtroopers while they tried to catch the rebels... the only time Sith kill each-other is for political gain or advancement of position... killing your own people in the field of battle is just plain stupid, may as well surrender...
  13. exactly Spyderwraith, that's how i see it... that's why i suggested a way to completely disable the PvP Flag altogether on PvE servers, so we can go bout our business without the harassment of ppl that get their jollies off of keeping others from achieving their goal... to me it's simple you want Co-Op play go PvE server, you want competitive go PvP server, but don't force the Co-op players into competition when they don't want it, allow us the option of completely disabling flagging...
  14. oh, i know right?.. first thing i did when i got a Speeder on my Inquisitor was test and see if my speed boost would work mounted... sadly, no... would have been awesome though...
  15. Ha, there's a cool-down timer for something thats like what 5 seconds of burst speed, when a Speeder never gets a speed decrease, unless you're being chased for some reason, personally id hit the throttle as opposed to the brakes when being chased... as for WildStar don't speak for everyone, im not leaving a game as awesome as this for that cartoon, it's bad enough to hear/see ppl call their characters "toons" i don't want a game that looks like one too...
  16. i feel the best option would be for those of us that play PvE(Co-Op), to have a little check-box for "Never Flag PvP" in our options menu... that would be never flag anywhere for any reason at any time, basically disabling th flag system altogether... honestly i rolled on a PvE server cause i wanted Co-Op play, if i wanted competitive i would have rolled on the appropriate server, a PvP one... it seems simple PvE= Co-op, PvP= Competitive, allow me to keep the competition out of my Co-op...
  17. gonna have to agree, its probably just a CM mount... i don't expect Bioware to totally abandon Swoop Bike Racing in favor of the era-incorrect Pod Racers... i can see Pod Racers as Vanity/curiosity items but nothing more, Bioware put work into making Swoop Bike Racing the sport of The Old Republic, Even Knights II supported it as such and that was Obsidian, it wouldn't make sense to ditch it in favor of Pods...
  18. if you're going up the Darkness path, you shouldn't be so squishy as you say, as you will start turning a percentage of the damage you take into HP... my Assassin is my primary groups Tank and i have no problems keeping her alive, but i play in a dedicated group that all work their roles together... if you're doing PuG PvP then i have no clue in that department other than find a dedicated DPS (or two) & Healer to group with... i miss when PvE & PvP played by the same rules with the same equipment, now it's all needlessly convoluted...
  19. when i first saw "please PST me" i had no clue what that meant... every game prior to playing DCUO in my experience the Private Message command was /PM (Name)... i eventually found out what it meant and the redundancy of seeing "Please PST" set in, why say please twice?.. so now i just laugh at the redundancy when i see it...
  20. considering one to four force users per squad seems to be the defacto setup in the Star Wars Universe/EU then i don't see a problem with this or how it doesn't feel like Star Wars and inexplicably more like a lame FPS...
  21. it's in my sig,... i chose Ashtear it's a name i've used as my main characters last name for almost 20 years, whenever a game allowed it... Ashtear is also the last name i use online to retain my anonymity and not use my real last name but i can feel free to use my first, middle, or nickname...
  22. i'm surprised it hasn't been said yet but, Firefly, the whole Space Cowboy thing is just too awesome...
  23. yes, it's been suggested to death... and once gain, no, just no, it's the wrong era, pod-racers don't come around for quite a long time... this is the era of Swoop Bikes, what they need is Swoop Bike Drag-strips and Circuit Tracks, with modifiable bikes through parts...
  24. the problem with this so-called balance issue lies solely with the PvP crowd... unfortunately in every MMO whenever the PvP community gets something nerfed on a certain class that bested them in PvP it directly ruins it for the PvE community as a whole because it changes the function of the core game, which like it or not in SW:ToR PvE is the core game... my guess is the devs figure we're all smart enough to figure this out on our own, it has been stated multiple times on multiple threads, so they have no need to reiterate it, when a good portion of the community has already said it... sad truth for the "NERF X" fans, there will never be true balance in any kind of PvP cause someone will always whine when the get beat by someone better, faster, or smarter and will always blame the system long before they ever admit they're just bad...
  25. ok, i'll admit 2XP is a good compromise for those lazy people asking for Double Spec or whatever... but i still think we need something like XP Dampeners, or a toggle to just outright disable it, some of us like to do the planetary and heroics, that's where you get your companion gear...
