  1. hello all, here to ask a question. I've created a lvl 60 charachter with the free token for subscribers, in the hope of having one of the last two Legacy Skills I'm still missing during the Heroic Moment buff. But, in the end, the new lvl 60 charachter is only a void shell with all the skills up to lvl 60, but with no Old story chapters completed and, for this reason, it gives no Legacy Skill. The question is: is it only a bug OR it is intended ? If the latter one is true, can I still start and complete the Old Story chapter to obtain the legacy buff, even if on each planet my level will be lowered to the maximum for the planet itself ? Thank you for answers.

Hello everybody, my question is simple: has anyone tried to parse and see the difference (if any) between a full geared Arsena (or gunnery counterpart) with the NEW 6 set bonus AS OPPOSED to the Old 4 set bonus + NEW 2 set bonus ? I haven't got much time lately to do the job but, on the chart, it seems that preserving the OLD 4 set bonus + NEW 2 set bonus SHOULD be better, as the new 4 set is pretty useless and the 6 one is just an automated HSM crit each minute. The difference, in this case, is just in the stats on the armoring part. Hope someone already lost his time and tried to parse both the sets. Thanks in advance for the answers
  3. Guys I don't know if you read it in the right way, but patch notes on test server say: "Barrage now has a 33%/67%/100% chance to occur when using Tracer Missile or Power Shot. This proc can only occur once every 8 seconds." As I already wrote a thread on test server forum, this will mean a consistent damage reduction for the Arsenal spec, because, right now, even if the 45% chance wasn't real, in the worse scenario you would have ad a proc after 3 or 4 TMs - that is 4.5 to 6 seconds, while, with the incoming changes, the proc will be set to 100% but once every 8 seconds. Given that, even if your luck run out and you had to cast 4 TMs for the proc, that would have left open a second proc right after the next TM cast, with the upcoming changes that will not be possible as you will wait 8 seconds from one proc to another. This means that, if your HSM and RS are on CD, you will have to spam TMs like the old times, having a big reduction in DPS. If the change will go live I think all of the remaining Arsenal will definitely switch to the already more performing Pyro spec (and I'm an old & always Arsenal player, even though I tried the pyro and I find it way better). Plus, another question I'm wandering about is the 4 ticks of Unload: will that mean we have 4x miss chances ? miss

As a Bounty Hunter Mercenary (arsenal spec) I can confirm that the following items do not work in regaining Heat at a faster rate: Kolto Tank Remote Ship The little White Ball you have in your hand and look upon (sorry not at my PC can't remember the name of it) I had to set the original Reload on my quickbar because nothing worked to regain Heat...
  6. As title says, I would have liked an improvement on vehicle speed with the release of the first expansion. Even a +10% more (bringing the max speed to 120%) would have been cool. What do you guys think about ?
  7. Yeah, right, if you hav a healer on your back, another class "tanking" your target AND noone else looking at you with a murderous intention in the eyes, THEN YES, you can kick in serious damage. The OP stated our inefficiency in almost all situations when ANY OTHER class just spot you, recognizing you are THE PREY (they just say: oh look there a FREE KILL turret, let's go !!!) and comes on you. At that point, unless your opponent is heavily undergeared OR he really doesn't know **** about how to play his class, we are just dead meat. On every 1v1 with same geared enemies and even skilled opponents (of other classes, of course) we have no chances to win, sorry. On this bases I just retired my merc arsenal from pvp while on full WH and EWH weapons at 90 valor because I could not bear anymore the pain of it (or the refuses of ranked groups to accept a merc arsenal coz it's a waste of a spot in the group itself) and just enjoy playing it in PvE, where it shines (because we can do what we are designed for: immobile turret + use some good situational skills like our heal to save the tank/healer and/or the in fight rez). Till BW will change something, hopefully.

Sorry but I have to disagree withyou on two points: first, it isn't true and, nonetheless aphodittical, that Mara/Sent deal more sustained damage then Merc Arsenals, and this is based on experience. I've never been out dpsed by them and be assured I do not play with bad ppl or people who don't know how to use their classes. Simply our DPS is one of the best in PVE (and also regarding snipers i disagree with you; yes they could have a little edge over us but it is what's said, just a LITTLE edge). Concussion Missile: it is a very good weapon we have at our disposal to CC strong mobs when there are big packs so to ease the healer's job AND it can be used in bad situation to CC a mob when all went wrong and your healer needs a lil break. Do not understimate a very good tool only because many times you do not need it to kill a pack only because you are in a strong premade. Some time you play with PUGs and sometimes even strong premades make mistakes and/or some member can have a disconnection or lag spike. That is where it can come in handy. PS: our class can have problems, expecially in PVP, but do not underestimate it more then necessary.

Well there is only one solution to the "actual" (/sarcasm off as it's more then 6 months of this situation) PVP problem with Merc Arsenal spec (and Commando counterpart, of course): Leave it be, don't play the class in PVP, just have fun in PVE where we are good at. I finished my patience in waiting for Devs to change some mechanics into better ones and, with the last patch, they even worsened it all (and please do not tell me that now we have an interrupt, we should have had it since the beta). What I can tell you is that, having arrived almost al 90 valor, but having no fun at all playing PVP with my Merc anymore, I decided to play it only in PVE, and I found back how fun it can be to play this game. Is it sad ? Yes, definitely, but better then being mad everyday
  11. For my experience I can say that Merc Arsenal are one of the best DPS, PVE wise, of the game. The only DPS class that can compete on an equal line is the sniper. This is because, even if Marauders or Powertechs can dish out great numbers, they must still pay more attention on when to go back (because bosses do AoE damage) and when fight again. Same can be said about trash mobs in operations/flashpoints coz Merc and snipers can stand still like turrets and switch targets while melee classes need to move (even if they can jump on target, we are talking about mobs that can die in less then 5 seconds so you don't always have the jump skill avaible) and so they waste some precious seconds. Mercs arsenal are definitely one of the best PVE dps out here also coz they have a very high sustainable damage AND, more important, they also have some valuable skills like: - Concussion missile (that can soft stun for 1 minute EVERY kind of mob, be it human or droid), - a good Heal (coupled with no heat and instant cast have saved many times a tank or a healer from certain death during a boss encounter), - in-combat resurrection (being a dps it is invaluable to rez a tank or a healer during a boss fight while your healer/s continue their work on the rest of the group). All I can say is that Merc Arsenal, in my opinion, are one of the best classes for a pve situation because they couple very good damage to nice situational skills that can literally save the group in many occasions. What merc Arsenal mainly lacks, but this is not the place to debate about, is in PVP environemnt because even if our damage could still be high, we are very fragile and subject to interrupt. We do best in PvE only because there is always a tank getting the aggro and a healer topping you up in the not so rare occasions when you steal the aggro.

After a lot of time, a valor rank of 88, full Arsenal Elimitaor WH gear fully augmented, after I've played countless hours in PV with Arsenal spec, AFTER reading the stupid patch notes for 1.4 I decided to go Bodyguard spec because I'm VERY sick of all the idiocy BW can pull out of the sack for our beloved class every patch. This I do only because I don't want to stop PVPing and i will change spec in bodyguard for PvP, hoping to be at least of some better use in WZs, and in Arsenal for PvE, because at least in ops there will be no hindrancies at all to have our electro dart on 10m range and/or a root on our punch instead of a knockback. At least in PvE arsenal spec is one of the best and always seekd out for the output damage and utility for the entire group/ops. These are my 2 cents... sigh...
