The most annoying thing as pyro mercenary is that when ur equivalent pt pyro has the talent of the 100% proc for cgc with flame burst, u get an alacrity (lololol) talent.What represents that in theory?Simple.The powertech version with the instant-no cd flameburst CAN reapply the much needed dot to keep ur target ablaze(increasing the dmg of ur skills and making him vunerable to railshot)much more effectively than a mercenary pyro does.And some will say "but man you have incendiary missile,u can apply dot easily too why u whine about it?....".Well i was taught as a dps tpo always focus a freaking healer down till he ragequits and either he dies by me,or he breaks his keyboard in pieces.Now keep in mind as a pyro spec(be it merc or pt) when ur target is ablaze,everything synergizes like pieces of a puzzle.HOWEVER,healers have an ability called cure(which cleanses ur dot and has 4 something sec cd).As a mercenary pyro u have 2 options to dot ur target: 1)Fusion Missile(33 heat usable efficiently only with TSO,prefferably power surge to make instant) 2)CGC dot 3)Incendiary missile The 1) scenario is situational with huge cd and not heat efficient and gone with one cleanse.The CGC dot is 16%(remember my sentences about pt and their flame burst talent?here i explain it).So 16% dot chance on rapid shots while our brothers pt have it instant and CERTAIN(no RGN or anything).Why the fuzz?Because even if a healer cleanses ur first dot,one flame burst and procceed to destroy while as merc pyro you totally rely on incendiary missile,a 25 heat ability that has travel time delay if ur shooting from a distance which u should be as ranged and a RGN combustile gas cylinder proc with rapid shots.What does this mean in theory?It means(and you will realise it in ranked wz's vs decent healers if u already havent)that a good healer will perma cleanse ur dots making u either go overheat trying to kill the healer OR delay ur burst so an opponent wipes the floor with ur @ss.And on top of all this,they nerfed power shot(which was white dmg anyway.......) and also put internal cd on ppa(toning down ur "lucky" burst by making it predictable burst,which in the end of the day with power shot spam wasnt a quick burst either). Because i love the bounty hunter and the mercenary class specifically,im not naive to not see that yeah,bodyguard got a somewhat fair nerf(although they could toy with his 20% more healing to himself talent when in energy shield or nerf the seconds ur uninterruptable if they wanted to nerf him on the pvp area but whatever...),arsenal for me got a buff on his burst dmg and specifically vs healers and slight nerf vs tanks but really,pyro?Why touch the mercenary pyro? A direct question to all the premade teams that will form for ranked matches in 1.2: What more exactly does a mercenary pyro offer vs the arsenal mercenary team in a ranked team?Arsenal can burst a healer,can debuff any target he wants or even all the targets via tracer(which is a HUGE debuff for the team),also can EXPOSE healers into the open with 2 knockbacks and shorter cd and bigger range on the jet boost.What does pyro offer?A piss poor sweltering heat slow(unreliable with 16% proc chance for cgc) controllable and cleansable burst,and a whole load of white dmg(only td and im are kinetic).

Many thanks for your feedback.When i read the patch notes,the only actual nerfs in my eyes are the 5(might be wrong)% dmg reduction loss from power barrier talent and the -5 sec off our knockback and determination :/.Is it possible btw to tell us what stats(crit/surge/accuracy/power) and how much aim/endurance the new pvp sets have?Cheers
  4. the sky wont fall for arsenals or pt pyros either,im just amazed that the most balanced spec in merc trees(pyrotech) received a nerf in one basic skill....Though we get a buff with more consistent railshot procs for more consistent dmg but still...rly nerfed MERCENARY pyro?rofl. Btw,downloading the PTS patch myself but to anyone already downloaded it,can you please inform us about the new pvp and pve set bonuses of the new tier gear?Many thanks.
  5. come to think of before i see 1.2 notes i was 99% sure arsenal,bodyguard and pt pyro would get nerfed.And they nerfed powershot's dmg by 10%...For those who dont know,its a core skill to proc free railshots...just wow xD.The least op spec of all bounty specs received a nerf.....Also now forget about using high velocity cylinder,the free railshot talent requires u to have the CGC cylinder ^^

Few questions: 1)How will u kite a marauder,juggenaut,operative on a 1v1?Or how will u slow a ball carrier since slow doesnt give full resolve?Jet boosts range and cd are not good while in pyro spec so u either have to rely on the perfect positioning-jet boost each time or ur dead.(About the marauder part however even with CGC a very good one will eventually get u so meh) 2)Whats ur biggest hits with railshot and thermal detonator after using HVC?(Mine with only bm boots missing with CGC cylinder on power relic+stim had max 4.6k thermal for example..) 3)Arent you giving away a part of ur mobility and dot dmg(elemental dmg mitigated by defense,also a second dot incase ur incendiary gets cleansed) by not having the slow AND a second dot?Meaning a cleanse class(fellow bh,agent etc) will have it much easier with u to remove ur incendiary as u wont have the free dot to back it up,meaning u will either spam incendiary causing u to overheat orwalking away from that fight(this is exactly why an arsenal speced bh with a few gear adjustments can take out a healer regardless of cleanse **** and killing the healer matters so much).Is the dmg increase worth the dot and the utility sacrifice? 4)In the end,how can u convince a new bh player than pyro merc is better than the PT pyro or at least as viable?Since with the HVC ur sacrifising ur slow for overall penetration,willst PT pyro has his slow PLUS more pen on railshot plus more dmg on it...And to those who will say "ranged>melee" cos im sure u will,without ur slow good luck kiting therefore,good luck acting like a ranged.Your only escape is jet boost(?),for some ridiculus reason ur stuns give SO MUCH resolve u cant use both+jet boost,1 of them will get removed for sure(either with determination or the WORST scenario,concussion from ur dot )leaving u with 2 options:use electro,if he removes power surge conc and heal yourself or RUN or use conc if he removes electro and open all ur attack cds and pray railshot procs twice. Im sorry for the very long post but those thoughts where kept in my head for a long time after playing for months all 3 mercenary specs.

If ur going for high velocity gas cylinder then why use sweltering heat? edit:You do realise ur only missiles to proc the terminal velocity talent are incendiary missile(25 heat each one),fusion missile(33 heat) and unload(big cd)?Thermal detonator is the hardest hitting ability in pyro spec(im in almost full bm,missing boots and it crits for 4.6k).You also lose energy rebounder which is super useful talent imo.Last,why on earth ull skill system caliberations?If your going for alacrity gear then be my guest but if ur not,4% doesnt change rly anything(tried system caliberations and critical reaction talent from bodyguard tree for fun using eliminators set and guess what,my powershot from 1.5 cast became 1.37 OP!!!).As much as id love to be able to use the velocity cylinder AND to be able to kite effectively,i dont think thats possible.CGC boosts not only ur rapid shots but also ur mobility(700+ hits on rapid shots with sometimes dot ticking for 1k o.o).Ah and not to forget this,you lose also 30% dmg from burnout talent(its like a passive execute if hes at 30% and lower u just CANT lose if its not a class that clears dots or a marauder) P.S:I am reffering to the spec above my post

    At this rate...

    Give mercenary class(or pyrotech) an interrupt(other interrupt than your Jet Boost,your 1 min cd stun,and ur forever to cast concussion shot[no i wont power surge this ****]) and dont nerf anything i dont care...Only class that doesnt have a direct interrupt and if arenas are introduced in the future,you will see that issue.
  12. Or you can just move behind a wall and BAM out of line of sight=he cant hit you.Or you can take several steps behind and BAM out of range for him.Arsenal's are so static its actually sad....
