  1. It is a shame it was cleared so fast even if the guild that cleared had been testing it for some time. And I understand the arguement, "Lets see how quickly they can kill it on Nightmare." Which i suppose is valid but it sucks that they have ALREADY SEEN all the content, they just have to kill it with it having more HP and doing more damage.
  2. If you let people unbind raid mods then people will be able to gear out with best stuff in game without setting foot in an op. If you do not see the flaw in that then I don't know what else to say.
  3. Just go play RIFT if you want to raid. It totally, utterly destroys this game and any other when it comes to raiding.
  4. Agreed. It makes EVERYTHING a gear check. It downplays the effect actual skill has on raid progression. You can have the most skilled 16 man group in the world but if you simply do not have the gear to meet the required DPS, you wipe. Maybe they do that to slow progression but as we have seen in SWTOR progression is not slow. Now a REAL raiding game RIFT, takes months and months to progress thru the highest tier instance but there are also 11-12 bosses. Enrage timers are also involved but you have clear Hit/Focus ratings and enrages are more of a particular boss mechanic rather than a global mechanic.
  5. Yeah I really do hope BioWare delivers in 1.2. I hope to see some unique exciting loot out of the new OP and I hope the top guilds on servers will not clear it the same week it comes out. If that is the case I can't see myself resubbing. I mean take HK in RIFT. Now THAT is raiding. I just now killed Akylios and it was SOOO unbelievably rewarding. Not to mention how beautiful the fight was itself. If SWTOR can offer something even close to that I will stay.
  6. You can't post on the forum without an active subscription right? Most games are that way. Those people saying that are lying and mostly trolls. However the game does have some serious longevity issues at least for the more hardcore side, hopefully they address that in 1.2 properly.
  7. I been playing SWTOR since right after launch. I came to it from RIFT. At that point we were kind of stuck in Hammerknell and a bunch of people left for SWTOR so I went as well. And I will say leveling in SWTOR was a BLAST, I enjoyed it alot. I didn't like having no combat logs, or /rolls and in some ways i missed macros and something was just weird about combat but all in all I have had alot of fun. I have been through all of the endgame content at this point. I tank for a top guild on Empire side Jedi Covenant and we have done all the Nightmare 8 man stuff we are now working on 16m just for something to do. Anyways don't want to make this too long, it just feels like "something" is missing. I have never once got that heart pounding adrenalin rush from killing a boss, where everyone just screams and cheers when that boss hits 0% after a bunch of attempts. I don't know if its just the raiding isn't as difficult or involved in this game but something just is not there. Don't know if I like the way gearing is either but that beside the point. I recently went back to RIFT along with a few others and I will say I appreciate a few things about that game now after SWTOR (especially raiding) but I will indeed give SWTOR more time with 1.2 around the corner. TL: DR - Does anyone else feel that something is just plain missing from this game but its tough to put your finger on?
  8. Well I don't get why you guys think im trolling or lieing to make a point. I work most of the day and I come home and game. I got into a raiding guild, Delirium on Jedi Covenant and we starting clearing ops. We were able to clear them on normal mode right away and everyone just seemed to get geared up so fast from doing that, pvp dailies and HM FPs that it seemed like after 2 weeks from hitting 50 I had no more incentive to run HM FPs. Then we started working on Hard Modes and there was actually some wiping but we have been able to clear all the content on Hard Mode as well. And after a few weeks of this everyone is pretty close to full Rakata gear only think I still need is a main hand. I got a full tank set and 3/4 full DPS set. We are working on Nightmare SOA still, only boss we haven't downed. Some of the bosses are easier on Nightmare like Fabricator and I don't understand that. But anyways yeah the fact is this just isn't a game for the more hardcore raiding players that enjoy a challenge. I just do not get alot of entertainment from fluff content or watching the same cutscenes over and over. So i did not intentionally charge through all the content it is just how it happened because BioWare let me.
  9. If you are looking for a build to Off-tank effectively just use the Carolina Parakeet build. It is just mathematically the best OT build.
  10. We only have Rapid Shots, Unload, and Heat Blast that even use the blaster so I wouldn't say its really that big a deal. What i think would be cool is to do more with the Generator/Shields. Every other class has DPS on their offhand except for us it seems so maybe they could add some type of aesthetic for our off-hands somewhere on our armor or make us glow a certain color with it or make them modable or something.
  11. So what do you do when you have full rakata gear after two-three weeks? Nothing to grind, no rep to work on, PVP does get old lets face it. Furthermore, I've never gotten that adrenaline rush feeling while killing a boss in the game... I hope it improves in the future but as of now this game is severely lacking for the higher end players.
  12. Don't PVE people get bored with Call of Duty? Point made.
  13. O so that means its okay that it doesn't hit as hard as it says it should? By the way, tanks also factor into a raids DPS I do not know why people totally disregard that. Yeah that don't account for as much but even a few percents on a Boss especially in Nightmare makes a difference. Also more dmg = more threat. The more you know :::::::::::::::::::::::::::*
  14. Been pvp'n in CP build and it seems to be working fine. But since you didnt say what you thought was wrong I dont really know.
  15. lool actually no.. I am a Magical Sorcerer fk Wizards. But ya I meant, 31/8/2 my b.
  16. I use it on CD now just to avoid having any aggro issues. When i was tanking in RIFT i felt confident that if I successful pulled off my rotation I would not lose threat on any mobs. In SWTOR even use proper build and rotation with BiS gear is not enough to make me feel confident I wont lose threat. So know I just throw Neural dart into my rotation... screw it.
  17. Gault. When you get to running ops you will notice that 65-85% (seriously, at least for us) of the loot is Imperial Agent tokens/gear and you will most likely only have 1 maybe 2 running with you so there will be alot of greeded (since ML is still retarded) Agent gear going around!
  18. I am almost in full Rakata gear and I agree with some of what you said. Our MT is a Jugg and we are geared pretty much the same but it definitely seems i take more damage than him and I am running 31/8/5. Also threat in this game is just wonky. You can't always ask dps to lay off the boss or mob to let you keep aggro. I have no trouble with 1 on 1 tanking but thats because I use my Neural dart everytime its up... if I don't I feel like someone will pull off me. I know people will say ur doing it wrong and they have full rakata dps's slamming on stuff and they never taunt once just to flex their e-peens but all you PT Tanks know that something is off. We definitely need more threat generating abilities and shoulderslam does need to be incorporated better. Lastly, the heat in 31 ST is just god awful. Even using Heat Blast everytime its up does pretty much nothing. I guess you are just expected to use Rapid shots... ALOT? Something is wrong and I hope to see it fixed as well good post.
  19. Has anyone experimented with this? I realize it would take alot of remodding and whatnot so may not be worth it but if you could reduce CDs for rocket punch, immolate, thermal detonator stuff like that wouldn't you be doing crazy damage. I can see the drawbacks being using them faster may overheat you and it may not make up for the lost crit/surge/power but was just wondering.
  20. Once you get Blizz he gives you a rather unique gun. Its a purpleish-blue colored item and the only one ive ever seen. It has a blue crystal in it and no mods so you have to completely remod it but it looks sweet. It has a scope on it and a long barrel and its red. I am not sure if certain convo options gets you the gun or if everyone gets it tho.
  21. So my guild often has me switch from tank to DPS for HM/NM ops based on who we have on or the fights. Respec costs started to get kind of high so I started running CP build so I could just swap gear. However I just feel I overheat waay too fast in the CP build... I feel like I am using proper rotation but if I just have a bad proc streak I'm screwed, and especially while tanking, using flame sweep overheats you super fast. I much rather would want to use ST and AP for tanking, and I like it more for PVP as well cuz I hate getting CC'd non stop. Is there any viable way to use ST and AP for DPS as well? I guess I am looking for a ST/AP hybrid build.
  22. Yeah, and that is basically what I do. The annoying thing is how DPS and even healers seem to not understand that, and they ***** about you keeping threat and especially in an OP everyone that hears or sees them calling you out just assumes you are a bad whether they know whats going on or how the game works or not. Only reason I care is I wanna be invited on more ops and don't want people to think I can't keep threat eventhough thats just how the game works. Does anyone else run into this? I always hold the champion and elite mobs at all costs but when ppl ***** cuz I week mob is hitting them it gets really annoying... especially when the op leader only wanted one tank for more DPS... its like they dont get a tank can only hold so much... this isnt like RIFT where u can spam and aoe or 2 and go afk and still have threat.
  23. I have been tanking ever since leveling into HM's and Ops and I also was MT for a pretty hardcore raiding guild on RIFT for 9 months so I understand how threat works. However in this game I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if its just the way this game works. Take for instance mobs in EV. Those giant floating robot things. The other night it seemed I could only hold maybe one or 2 at a time. The others just roam around and stick to high threat gen dps. Same thing happens with those lava monster things, I keep aoeing them and Sonic missile but as soon as that 3 secs is up a bunch of them break off and attack non-tanks. I usually pull with death from above if the mobs are packed together and then I will spam tab thru and use rapid shots to keep the attention of the stragglers, once I get them in a clump I will use flamesweep once or twice and then sonic missile to assure I have them. And from there I just use flamethrower, flameburst, rocket punch and flamesweep when I have the heat capacity. Even when tanking bosses I feel I need to keep throwing taunts into my rotation to assure no one pulls off. This also happens in HM FPs, i usually only bother tanking the elite mobs and let dps pick off the weak ones quickly unless they are all close enough but it seems dps can pull off me at will... well certain DPS. Is my rotation bad? Is it just my gear? I have done alot of ops and HMs but I just havent had much luck so I am still not full columi but I do have a nice weapon. Anyways just wondering if any other tanks have this issue and if its just the way mobs/threat work in this game or if its something I am doing wrong, and if so some tips to generate better threat. Btw I have been running Parakeet for PVE tanking lately cuz I seem to have better threat than a higher ST and a lil AP build. TL:DR - Do packs of mobs seem tough to hold in this game and do certain DPS seem to be able to pull at will? Is it just the way the threat works in this game or I am just doing something wrong?
  24. Yeah this is hella annoying and i worry that it may never be fixed or at least not soon. I mean this is built into the game, its just the way the instances work and the fix/change for it may take a massive amount of reprogramming. I would like to at least see a dev or GM mention the issue because I have been hearing alot of groups complain about this.
