  1. I have no idea why anyone seriously interested in PvP would pay a 6 month subscription for any MMO unless all they know is WoW, and compare it to that. Sure, I was pleasantly surprised SWTOR even had PvP, however for me it was a 1 month wonder. Rift to date has been the most successful start of an MMO I've ever played (but unfortunately the PvP endgame lacked). I'm really looking forward to Guild Wars 2 innovation of World versus World (WvW) PvP! Something different than the usual warzone & world pvp with ONLY 2 factions (gaud I'm sick of this basic model).
  2. It's definitely still not working, and yes the target is burning. I stand there doing lame damage while my opponent rips into me cause Rail Shot reset fails miserably. It's game breaking to me, and venting heat already kind of sucks in extended PvP, though I'm uncertain how a PT compares in an extended fight with other classes (group vs. group would a pyro PT fail due to too much heat?). I'm not waiting around for them to fix this crap.
  3. After the Rail Shot is reset, I am unable to use it as the icon stays dark. It's as if the 15 second regular timer works without any icon indication, and I'm supposed to be able to use Rail Shot with that talent after it resets from a chance of using flame burst and kick. Visually I see the CD reset but cannot use it for 15 seconds. I have not tried this in PvE, so small chance it works as normal then. I also haven't paid attention to the heat buildup, but have noticed an overall overheating more often since patch (but that could be my bias).
  4. Anyone else finding with the latest patch that the Pyrotech talent Prototype Particle Accelerator that resets Rail Shot isn't working as intended? I have no idea how this happened, but I'm surprised it is, as well as not seeing any threads about it. I can't play my Powertech until this is fixed, and yes it was the same case yesterday.
  5. I"m not so much anymore lol. It's a nice relief actually. Just wanted to comment on the thread. I came to this realization recently. I do agree people leaving is lame at times, but sometimes better players come in and help the potential comeback. I do like to queue at times for a pvp fix, earn a little valor for when the new gear is implemented, and other benefits (but overall MUCH less than before).
  6. World pvp is more or less dead on my server. Sure there is some, but it's not that exciting (plus the lag is horrible), and doing warzones with the same folks gets old. I like the xrealm pvp idea. Anyways, about leaving warzones, well that is a given for any Battlemaster cause there is no point in earning valor until new gear comes out. I presevered to rank 60, stayed in warzones win or lose for the valor, and now there is no point in doing warzones unless I'm wanting to complete the daily. I have all the gear I want from the Battlemaster vendor. Hell, I don't even need to do the dailies anymore! No point in even logging in on this toon until my guild does some pve to improve my pvp gear. I'd rather leave a warzone that is most likely going to lose to allow another player who needs to grind valor like I did. It's not hard to predict if there is a chance to comeback and win (those ones I usually stay).
  7. Some very good points so far. Hadn't considered rotating rapid shots with FB. Wasn't thinking that rapid shots could snare as well (assuming regular auto shot can snare too). Electro Darting an off-target is an outstanding idea. So is modifying armour. I have cybertech (don't have the grenade yet and still considering dropping it for biochem), but I tried reverse engineering a mod from a champion gear piece, and it failed erasing the mod. So assuming the best way is through instancing for the BUP high lvl mods i've heard about. Currently run in the 8/8/25 spec, as it seems a good overall dps spec.
  8. I was pleasantly surprised there was any significant pvp at all. I bought it cause some guildmates were trying it out. I think Guild Wars2 is going in the right direction with server vs. server warfare, and battlegrounds where everyone is equally geared. The main problem is how to satisfy customers with pvp longevity? People will get burned out if it is more and more of the same grind (adding valor ranks & gear solely), or losing equipment (like a full loot system), so continuing to provide a unique pvp endgame is very challenging (but also the success of a pvp game). As far as rage posts, well obviously people are going to ***** about whatever, but the forums are a place to learn about the game & people's concerns, such as an operative killing you in 3-4 seconds LOL.
  9. Make a Sorc then and enjoy the 10-49 pvp bracket. BW may tone down the Sorc class, but probably not much because of how many I see around (which would piss off a large number of people). /irony
  10. It happens sometimes to me but not much, compared to my friend it happens frequently (don't know about relogging?). I do know the obvious if joining a ongoing game often don't get credit. Doesn't matter much as I need the valor.
  11. I'm not sure about a BH doing as much dps as a sorc or agent while healing, however as a power tech I don't have any healing at all. Do Mercs heal as much as a Sorc and Agent while dishing out good dps?
  12. It's a tricky scenario to balance out healing. If BW nerfs healing anymore then it kind of kills the class purpose of outhealing an opponent or keeping another alive. I often see Sorc's doing alot of healing & damage, so I think there lies the problem. They should either be good at healing but lower the dps, or vice versa. Then again, I see healing agents in the same boat, but dps agents aren't healing for 100k like a sorc.
  13. Perhaps it is as simple as interrupting his big heal and timing my burst damage/CC with lucky crits, but I have the most problem with Sorcerers hands down. A good geared one always seems to have the upperhand compared to other classes. I'm envious actually. I think an agent/scoundrel from what I read is a good counter to a sorc.
  14. I agree more or less. Perhaps not a nerf but a rebalancing of Sorcerer tools to even the playing ground. I know alot of people on the forums or whatnot are complaining about sorcs and wish I'd made one, as they are the most popular class in warzones it seems. As a powertech I can't kill a good one, and I'm geared. Sure, if I get lucky with all my CDs but I am the underdog. If there are other healers around it's pointless. I'm seriously considering making one or an agent just to kill them lol.
  15. Get your valor rank up to the lvl and have 1000 mercenary commendations to buy Champ bags off the bat. Good luck
