  1. Yeah, it automatically deletes GTN messages after it takes the attachment, too. I was pretty impressed.
  2. The biggest problem is that all characters more or less have to be identical from the neck down with the current design. I agree that breaking that design would be a good decision. Wookies are a very good idea; as are Mon Calamari and maybe Talz. No Gungans please.
  3. Suggestions in the OP are stellar. I would also like to see an option to turn off icons of items except on mouseover, allowing more results per page.
  4. So when you're talking to your children, do you select both characters' dialogue options? I would like to see quests addressing the legacy system.
  5. I don't have experience with FFXIV, but this system sounds good to me. Certainly worth examining. In short, I don't really care how the information is displayed, only that it is displayed.
  6. I see most everyone has replied with this, but I'd rather not have a lousy voice chat built into the game. If they are willing to put in the investment to make a really good one, great. But most MMOs with voice chat have made ones that are really bad. Ventrilo and Mumble are my two favorites. The latter is a bit more expensive but has virtually no lag ever; worth the money if you're serious about raiding.
  7. I would like to see a "personality chip slot" for this character.
  8. This is a design decision, not a bug. That said, 100-stacks would be more useful for crafting as the number is more divisible. I personally would prefer it.
  9. We need a simple, minimalist threat meter built into the default UI. Showing the top three creatures on the threat table of your current target would be enough. It could contain absolute or relative values. I trust your design staff to examine the specifics. This addition would dramatically improve the abilities of beginner players as they learn how to play in the endgame, and would also help players with experience in other games who are used to having such a tool. It would be an enormous quality of life improvement for tanks. Thanks.
  10. Jiminy Cricket, I knew there were issues but I didn't know there were so many. That's within range of unethical.
  11. Personally, I don't care if BW and EA go down in a flaming wreck, so long as they produce quality games. Okay, I realize that didn't fully make sense, but I'm sure you get the sentiment. A company is a company. The product is what counts. If BW dissolved tomorrow, the people would still exist, and they'd still make good games. Well, good stories, at the very least.
  12. I recommend the elementverb format. Skywalker Windchaser Flamewarrior Sure it's a bit generic, but it's easy to get a unique one that's reasonably cool.
  13. I didn't think they were so bad. Offhand, there were only about three I found frustrating. I'm more concerned about the bugs surrounding several of them.
  14. more dots! More dots! Now stop dots! Many whelps left side! Handle it!
  15. Actually, I thought that the crossword puzzle post was pretty funny. My argument, I guess is where we want the difficulty in the game to come from. By making threat more difficult, we force other parts of fights to be easier. Does that lead to a more fun game? Possibly. You guys managed to encourage me enough to give hardmodes a real chance before I pass judgement on them. Thank you.
  16. Thank you. To be fair, I'm not sure DPS truly requires a threat meter. Tanks need it quite a bit more.
  17. Quite true. But generally, and especially in PUGs, the tank should certainly not be held solely responsible for threat.
  18. Hardicon, I'm glad we agree on something. Judging by your post that would be highly unlikely anyway, I tend toward serious endgame progression.
  19. I disagree that mods are necessarily mandatory, but I will say that the very limited features displayed in the video are either very misleading or very worrying. While, certainly, what they displayed is a good step in the right direction, we need many other things before the game breaks free of its current UI shackles. I posted this previously, but going to Curse.com and reviewing the top twenty addons by downloads would be a very good use of design time.
  20. TheHeadCapper, you may wish to review people's responses to your posts. It would seem that the vast majority disagree with you, and your posts are not particularly constructive.
  21. Well said! I agree with your entire post. Hearing that those bosses do not yet exist is encouragement; thank you. I am worried for the future, however. I won't get too worked up over hypotheticals. One major argument I have with you: I'm requesting a threat meter, not addons. I would prefer the threat meter to be part of the built-in UI rather than it be an addon.
  22. With all due respect, Saltorio, I highly doubt you are a better player than I am. Longevity does not a hardcore raider make. The problem with no threat meters, from a DPS perspective, is that you need to adjust your behavior before the target turns on you. By the time you receive the indication that you have output too much threat, it is already too late, and you've messed up positioning and potentially already caused a wipe. Admittedly, I have yet to encounter a fight where pulling threat once is a serious chance of wiping, but I would be very surprised if they did not exist.
  23. This is exactly the problem with tanking in TOR today. It is the group's job to defeat the enemy, by any means necessary. Saying threat is the tank's job is - I apologize - simply ignorant. A DPS that opens with burst damage is a threat to the party and deserves to die and be kicked from the group.
  24. I'll admit that yes, chasing adds down as they peel off can be a lot of fun. In many fights, that is a cornerstone of what makes a good tank. That being said, I don't think situational awareness is going to help you determine which of the five mobs is getting hit by the blaster fire from the idiot Smuggler. A lot of the time you can figure it out by health bars. Above all, though, the fun is limited to trash packs and farm content. Hardmode bosses without a threat meter aren't fun at all. Once you're wiping on someone more than a couple times, realizing you're being limited by information that isn't displayed in the UI is quite frustrating. Aisar, did you actually play before Omen was out? That was, like, early vanilla. People waited for five sunders before attacking back then. People sure as hell don't wait for five sunders in TOR.
