  1. Oh man, glad to see I'm not the only one with terribad situational awarness the first time i go in a fight. Kolto tanks. Two of them in that fight. Bust em for a crazy heal over time.

    Player Vs. Anger

Hehe guilty about the whole ganking thing. Stalking the zone and setting up a kill is way more fun for me than standing in a ball of players that may or may not be more organized than a herd of cows. It's just way less efficient for valor and daily gains; and very difficult if you're not a stealth class. I've found my niche but it puts me way behind the curve when it comes to gearing up. I'm ok with that. Most folks will not be and will play a "less fun" but more gear grind efficient way of playing. Only one company so far has made a game where everyone's particular playstyle was rewarding and that was an MMOFPS. It's asking alot of BW to do that out of the gate. I think that with time BW has a shot at it. It's just gonna take time. If you don't want to wait around for it no one should blame you.
  3. Appreciate the insight and the response.
  4. Kitru, I'm curious as to why you have 2 points in technique mastery insted of applied force. Is the AP applied across the board while in shadow technique or have you found that the AP pays off more than the 6% damage increase of our main spam ability?
  5. Ya, I'm really starting to come around to Powerr's view on the project delay. I run the 31/0/10 build so two stacks of HS with PA up is my prereq for bursting and it is amazing. If you have fast fingers and good keybinds you can pop your spinning kick (or not), pop your surge or Ex adrenal, hit your project, pop your FP then immediately hit ST (seems to crit better for me) into a TKT. After the relatively small damage numbers the target has taken from me building my procs, they usually panic when I dissolve 3/4 of whats left of their health bar in 2 or so GCDs. They never see it coming from a tank spec. For Inf spec solo pve I build my normal two stacks from CS and a proc for shadow strike, then low strike into shadow strike, then go into Powerr's Rotation of Doom®. As to the OP, if Kitru says something about shadow tanks I just do it (not kidding). He knows math stuff. MATH STUFF!
  6. Short answer is yes. However, if you are only doing this to switch your alignment, the quickest and cheapest method is to run Black Talon and pick LS choices. You can hit 400+ in one run. Drag some lowbies along and you can grind social points too. Go solo and you can grind aff with Mako.
  7. It means that activating a technique such as shadow or combat now cost 100 force instead of 50. Basically the stances now cost 100 force not your individual powers.
  8. These changes would make this game be spoken of with the same hushed tones of respect reserved for PS and Daoc back in their heyday. Signed
  9. Interrupt his heals instead of his pebble pelt if you can take it. When your interupt is down use your knockback and force speed up to him. When your interrupt and knockback are on cooldown, use your stun. Use that order to keep from filling his resolve bar. You should be able to use your interrupt again at this point. If either he or you aren't dead by then, you need more dps to drop him so level a bit more to get a higher tier of gear or bring another friend. Breaking LoS on a dps Sage is good advice to wreck his cooldowns if your interrupt is on CD. Breaking LoS on a healer is bad because you can't interrupt. There is no way I know of to tell the difference until you see them either fry you or get a good heal off on themselves. 1v1 I recommend not letting them break LoS at all and keep the pressure on.

When they came for the Ops/Scoundrels I said nothing because I was not a Ops/Scoundrel. When they came for the Mercs/Commandos I said nothing because I was not a Merc/Commando Now they have come for the Sorcs/Sages and nobody is left to say anything for me
  11. 23/0/18 or 27/0/14 are good for damage and decent survivability. It's flashy compared to a straight tank spec and it gives you some decent burst with procs. You do have to spend alot of your attention watching procs but that happens regardless of tank 33/0/8 or balance spec. A straight tank spec gives somewhat more survivability due to the pseudo mitigation of slow time but opinions vary. I prefer the balance spec because I don't like waiting on 3 stacks of PA to use TKthrow and that is only a really heavy hitter if you use force potency. Plus the aoe from FiB is really nice for furballs in PvP and balance puts up more yellow numbers. The golden rule coined by Kitru for shadows is basically don't use any ability but your basic attack, kinetic ward, force breach, and your double attack unless you have either specced into a force cost reduction for said ability or you have a proc for said ability. Like all rules there are exceptions but when to break that rule is up to you. Tl;dr Imho tank spec for the most survivability, balance spec for the most utility. Both are viable for Pve main tanking.
  12. In before the trolls. Bioware said they are going to make those mods (pvp and raid gear mods) removable so you can wear the armor you want at end game.
  13. Lets see, my options end game repub side are I can look like a gaudy space priest, a gaudy space samurai, or a gaudy space swashbuckler (space cowboy would be ok but all you can get is the hat at the BiS vendors). Trooper stuff looks ok. Emp side I can look like an awesome space warrior, an awesome space assasin, or an awesome space ninja. BH stuff looks ok. I even tried to get my shadow some emp side gear through some late night neutral gtc shenanigans and the awesome demicot(sp?) face mask turns into a doily for my head rep side. You know you got a problem when most of the JCs rock the robe they get out of the first FP and the social pants off the starship vendor for most of their storyline so they dont have to wear the space priest outfit. Now add in the general clunkiness of abilities on repub side compared to emp side. The pebble throw just feels akward and slower compare to the lightning (not to mention real reasons why it's less effective due to when the damage is applied), the smugglers kick to the bean bag locks you in place while the IA's debilitate doesn't, the list keeps going. Storyline wise you can play some complex characters emp side. Repub side you can either be a goody goody or an Ahole with no real middle ground unless you're a smuggler. Edit. I was hoping for more of a space ronin feel for JK and a space ranger feel for my shadow. The outfits from the character progression video are all awesome for the JK. Heck just throw in a brown version of Thana Vesh's (sp) outfit from Tarsis or a brown version of that sith robe from the Essles and my JS just got way more motivating to play.
  14. So I got tired of my jedi shadow looking like a gaudy space priest and tried to get some darker gear from emp side. I snagged some semi dark looking light armor for my SHADOW (not gaudy space priest) and posted it on the neutral gtc in NS. Now this is probably old news to alot of folks but the dark robes magically turned into gaudy space priest robes for my shadow. Is this working as intended devs? If so I have to say I think it would be much appreciated if you would come out with a statement about what your design vision for the game is as it relates to players and player customization options. I can see not wanting jedi players to be dressed as Lord Mungos the Puppy Kicker but not even allowing a shadow to wear gray robes? How locked in are we when it comes to outfit customization? Am I stuck as a gaudy space priest? As a side note, why even have a neutral gtc if there is any no different looking gear or items available?
