  1. and that eliminates the randomness? you can be unlucky and get 0 tokens out of 40 bags (and buy 2-3 tokens via commendations) while your enemy can get 15 tokens out of 40 bags (and buy 2-3 tokens via commendations). if they want 25% chance, then why not multiply cost of all BMs by 4 and give one token in every bag... overall it will be the same but it eliminates the randomness

    Valor Cap

and how would that be bad? you still need proper rank to use it artificial gating so there is "more content"...
  3. i've noticed one thing - there is a training dummy :-)
  4. simple question, simple answer: you need one commendation to get your piece of gear and you want it now what do you do? grind 800 warzone commendations or 120? why are there small bottles of coca cola? it's economically stupid to buy them :-)
  5. i have a guildie that complains that when he plays warzones he loses most of the times so he rolled an alt on opposing side and there he also complains about the losses. i know what the problem might be but i don't want to hurt his feelings :-)
  6. this is a topic that was talked over and over on our guild chat and vent there were some that pvp for fun and some that pvp for gear funny that those who play for fun are still playing, and those who played for the gear are no longer logging in (at least those that got their gear, those who still try to gear up are still playing, but i expect them to drop out as soon as they get it) i play for fun, of course i wish i had the best gear but if i don't - that's no big deal, as long as what i'm doing gives me enjoyment but the carrot sometimes dangles and mesmers me, i'm not gonna lie - if i have 8/9 warzones won - i will want to win the 9th one to get that 'phat loot' from the weekly :-) but i'm far from a guildie who spent a day in ILUM farming valor (and complaining the whole time how boring it is)
  7. then change the bags to require valor rak50... currently you can get champion commendations without valor rank requirements from bags, but with valor rank 50 gating if you want to buy them via warzone commendations (which is only useful if you need only 1 or 2)
  8. not gonna happen in this game but maybe in some other game in the future: open world pvp should be about people pvping on the questing maps, so - sidekicking down (a'la GW2) so higher levels won't roflstomp lowbies (but still can enjoy returning to lower level maps for open world pvp) - both factions should have some (or even: most) questing hubs in the same place so you would be actually seeing your enemies before reaching max lvl or warzones - and those quests should have dual conditions: kill X NPC or kill Y Players from enemy faction in the specified zone - better player limits (if the limit is 100 then only 50 from each side can join, so no 20:80) - killing players would give you experience and also some random loot (NOT dropped by a player), killing players of higher level (they are sidekicked but still might have more skills to use) would grant a better loot/exp - bounty board: you pick up a quest to kill a specific player in the same zone and you have some tracker that helps you locate him
  9. really? i saw the "50" but i assumed it was level not the rank (which also made me mad because i wanted to start earning them on my alts before reaching lvl 50). well, getting ranks now is very easy as you get 2800-3300 valor for every match but it is indeed not cool for those who were pvp-casual or those who wanted to experience every quest on level and they simply could not pvp because they would outlevel their pve content
  10. because there is no easy solution for this if we assume that it only starts with 8 players on both sides being found for the match (which might not be the case, but bear with me anyway) then the problem might arise simply because some of those players won't confirm getting inside (they will change their minds or will simply be afk) but other players are already getting in the warzone so the server can't boot them out because someone did not get in the solution would be to have a lobby where you first go there and then into the warzone (but then again, they can afk in lobby too )
  11. Funny as my two best moments are also from hutt-ball (which is the least favourite of mine). First one is when I killed the enemy ball carrier with one second to go which won as a game (the score was tied). Second one is very similar - I managed to kill enemy ball carrier that was surrounded by multiple enemies with 5-4 seconds to go and I've managed to pass it to my teammate before I was stunned and killed. Again, score was at a tie so we won. I also have a fond memories when I managed to defend our turret in 1 vs 3 situation as a scoundrel for a good half of minute and for short moments longer where another 2 or 3 joined. We were winning regardless but it felt good that I could mess with more than half of the enemy team for some time, alone ;-)
  12. Based on your opinion or do people actually bow to you when they see you? Seriously, be more humble.
  13. Yup, we are bad carriers. I "sigh" everytime someone passes a ball to me. We are indeed good at retrieving the ball; however I like to treat hutt-ball as a team deathmatch type of gameplay and play accordingly :-) I would argue that sentinels/marauders are harder because they need to use a lot more skills to be effective (not talking about combat spec).
  14. I see, brings back memories when I was told to "sap" something and I was like "W.T.F. do you want from me?" People from RIFT used that a lot, but occasionally someone in LotrO would say it as well. Funny thing was that most of them did not know why they were using that word instead of generic "sleep" / "incapacitate" or the name of the skill. Neither did I until I just googled it and found out that WoW (which i never played and i'm proud of that) has a skill named "Sap" that "Incapacitates the target for up to X sec. Must be stealthed.". Ughhh...
  15. apologies for a small off-topic, but i've been wondering what is meant by 'trinket'. in rift there was an item call trinket that could be popped, so do you mean relic poppings? or something entirely different
  16. i have never seen glance rating on any mod so i believe it might be only beta (or something kept for next updates) - any idea what it does? as for the cap: what is the actual cap on crit and surge? after getting around ~42% crit and ~78% surge the diminishing returns made it not worth pumping it up anymore. (the relics seem to be be not influenced by the diminishing returns as i can get to above 50% crit with them)
  17. i would say that scrapper pre-36 is ok at pvp (i used the cover skills and was more stationary and used stealth only tactically) after 36 (and especially after 40) it's a great fun, so if you did not reach that level yet - grind your teeth and try to get there to see it for yourself. shoot first might be the best skill in the whole game (i love when an enemy runs somewhere and i use 'shoot first' on him, always think in my head something along those lines; "oh, mister, you just tripped, be more careful" or "oh boy, are you alright mister? or maybe a shotgun to your back can help you") honestly, there is nothing better than to pop out of stealth with 'shoot first', use 'back blast' and 'sucker punch' and pop back to stealth and see those dummies wondering 'hey, why our mate just vaporised???' :-) and if that's your first action on the warzone then you get 3 medals (killing blow, solo kill and 2.5 hit) :-)
  18. I hope that the animation for movement is fixed when you have the speed talent. Currently it looks rediculous. I would like to be able to use the cover skills without the need of cover, perhaps maybe when upper hand is up?
  19. You and I are on the same boat as I dinged 50 just yesterday and also had 6 bags. I've bought champion scattergun (which was a tremendous update to my lvl46 blue shotgun) and two centurion relics (i was using some tier 2 light relics before that gave almost nothing). I wanted to pick up some more centurion gear but honestly - everything seemed like a downgrade to what I'm wearing. So, the question is what are you wearing now at lvl50? What I had at lvl49 gave me ~8300 damage (the bigger value), ~42% crit chance and 78% surge. With those new 3 items I've upped the damage to ~8500 and my health is now at ~14700. I have purple ear piece and purple implants (2 of 3 have augment slots). The rest is a moddable gear (yes, even the waist and wrist) with lvl49 purple mods (their "rating is 50" which is only "1" less than centurion, but the attributes are those that I want). --- So, my observations based on those warzones that I managed to play at 50: it is indeed a lot harder now, but it's not only because of the gear, it's because you no longer play with dummies. in warzones 10-49 i could burst down a lot of people without a problem, and now? they break my stun and sprint away/stealth out/stun me back. yes, them having more health and defence/resistance does not help but i still managed to make a solo kill / escape bad situations / get 6-7 medals and be way above the average in the 'damage done' category I've only played a couple games so my way of thinking might change, but right now I'm contemplating not getting the centurion gear at all and just farm for the champion/battlemaster. (only 9 more valor ranks to 60 for me, you probably were also rank50 as well, right?) edit: i've reread your post again and have two following questions: 1) what do you mean by max armor/mod with expertise? do you mean those blue mods that come from the pvp vendor? if so then it might be the reason why you are feeling so weak - those pvp moddable sets were crappy (not only blue instead of purple but also some stats were very meh). 2) you said that 8 medals was a norm for you, could you tell me which was the 8th medal because the norm for me was: - (1) 2500 damage hit - (2) killing blow - (3) solo kill - (4) 10 kills - (5) 75k total damage - (6) 2500 heal "hit" - (7) 25 kills (most of the time, but sometimes on heal heavy oppontent team or their roflstomp that was not possible) so, the 8th one would be 300k total damage? or 75k total heal? on huttball that could be the 1k defender but that not something i would take for granted, and even more rare on voidstar i'm curious to see what i was doing wrong, not that it mattered then or now :-)
  20. I'm also not a fan of gear based pvp. As a fresh lvl50 sentinel my total damage was very low, but when i got full champion set - the overall total damage practically doubled. Unfortunatelly it does not mean I started playing twice as better as before, it's just that the numbers are bigger. This certainly is not a competitive pvp (unless you think our gear should compete, not our skills). My ideal solution would be to have centurion level gear as the max pvp tier, and pve t2/t3 (columi/rakata) gear modified so they have some ratings that only affect pve environment. So when two players meet (be it in warzone pvp, or ilum or even other planet) - if one has pvp gear and other has any variation of the lvl50 pve gear - they have basically the same power and only skill will decide who wins and who dies (and class balance ). However this introduces a problem for those who blindly follow the carrot on the stick (boo hoo, i have no reason to pvp, i can't "earn" better gear). Well then, introduce lots of different relics so they could work like runes work in League of Legends - you can add a flavour to your character but nothing that will be imbalanced (so one will want a bit more heath, someone will pick more crit/surge etc). And even maybe you could buy the mods themselves so you could tweak your build into specific direction but as they are of the same rating - it will not make you stronger overall, it will just make you stronger in one aspect (while weaking you in other place). And of course costumes - lots of costumes and not of the bad kind like we have here right now...
  21. balmorra is 32-36 quesh is 36-37 if you are saying that the only things left on balmorra are 5 levels below you then you are at least 37 which means quesh has elites at level at least 39? interesting, i did not know that :-) also, in your earlier post you've said that you did not skip content, so why suddenly there is something new on balmorra (albeit 5 levels below you)?
  22. i'm currently playing a scoundrel and i'm having a blast (pun intended) i'm almost fifty, everytime when i drop someone from 100% to 0% before stun-lock ends i wonder if the other guy thinks that operatives/scoundrels are OP and i dont blame him :-) i do not fear a single operative, but i do hate them (i think i always hate my mirror class as i hated marauders on my sentinel ) and make a priority of fracking their game up due to the maxed valor i'm usually the ops leader so i mark enemy operatives which helps a lot i do have, however, some respect for duo operatives, they are quite a challenge, especially when they realize that i'm focusing them - does not end well for me at times
  23. i think the boxes are just a failsafe imagine a server heavily outnumbered by the imperials (actually, not that hard to imagine) now, let's say - on a server the republic boycotts ilum completely, then the imperials could not be able to finish their daily/weekly there (and so would republic, but that was their choice) in theory that could be a problem, in practice - most likely imperials would roll some alts and put them on ilum so their buddies could farm the daily/weekly :-) other option: a person with a different working schedule could be able to play only around 3-5 AM, there is nothing to kill on ilum so he has to pick the armaments --- personally - i haven't touched those armament in a long long time, the server population is rather high and lately it's the republic that pushes the imperials around, not the other way
  24. At the time that I was doing it (month ago) I was told to burn down the shadows which I tried to do in this video: As a result I've experienced the one shotting skill the emperor has, I was full or almost full health and when I was pushed back - it was just instant death. I believe you can't survive this, you just have to interrupt it. Here, still trying to burn down the shadows but also having in mind the interrupts, I've managed to kill the Emperor, and even T7 managed to survive :-) Overall, I liked the fight. Yes, the puzzle part bugged for me too, but there is a fix for it (after solving it - get out and go back, the chest will be clickable). I think I took me around five tries, but I've enjoyed it - something hard for a change ;-) If you can't be bothered with this boss - take a friend with you, but if you want the title "Master" to mean something - do it on your own.
