  1. Clearly you didn't read his post yourself, as he mentioned the reusable stims/medpacs/adrenals. Those are not consumables.
  2. Am I missing something, or is this simply a (very minor) variant of the 8/8/25? For all the debate it has spurred, I really must just be missing something.
  3. http://i43.tinypic.com/25u1orb.jpg SI, SW buffs, Blue (450) Power Adrenal, Blue (104/43) Cunning Stim, Champ Crit/Surge Relic. If the numbers don't lie, 9k should reachable with Rakata Stim/Adrenal, some better gear (and more datacrons), and another 5% from a Merc's Kolto Residue. Yes, I respecced just to toy with this. And I covered my bars because quite frankly, they are horrid and I am ashamed to let people see how I set them up.
  4. CG and Stim Boost are much, much better than an extra 200HP healed on my 6k crits. What else am I missing, C-RI? Yeah, not missing it at all.
  5. Like what? I use a different allocation in Med, but the 28/0/13 has been my spec for quite some time, and it has more than done the job.
  6. (emphasis added) This sums it up. I personally can't see giving up Stim Boost for RN, but from reading some posts around here and talking to other Med-Ops, there are some who prefer RN. I know the 28/0/13 spec works from personal experience. I would imagine from conversations with others that a 31+ Med spec also works.
  7. I've not really played with it, but I assume by this post (as well as the wording on the tooltip) that if you sleep someone in PvP and someone breaks the sap with damage, this debuff doesn't apply. What about if they purge the sleep? I'd be willing to play with it in PvP if the debuff applies after a purged sleep dart. I'm assuming, again by the phrasing on the tooltip, that the debuff only applies if the sleep dart runs it's full duration.
  8. You most certainly do not need 31 in Med. I personally run 28/0/13 and have had great success with it. I haven't played with RN, but for me, I just can't justify giving up my improved energy regen from Combat Stims for a energy-heavy HoT. Though if you are committed to RN, I would look at something along the lines of 33/3/5 as posted above.
  9. I won't pretend that the Op is as good or better than the Sorc at this point in time - it's not, no questions about that. However, when played properly, energy is a non-issue - with little micro-managing required. The class is also more than capable of healing in Operations. Again, not as easily or effectively as a Sorc, but the class can do it, especially with a competent player at the wheel. And personally, I find the class to be a hell of a lot more enjoyable to play, which should be the ultimate factor in making a decision, imo. Edit: If they are basing it only off of class, then yeah, a Sorc's going to get the nod. But I have had a sorc (our guild and raid leader) respec to DPS instead of having me switch to my DPS class because he preferred having me on heals. I've had people tell me that I am among the best healers on the server, not just among Op healers (of which I've seen 4 decent ones at level 50), but healers in general. That's not intended to be a brag, but it does highlight that well played Op healers can and will get groups if they establish themselves. Like I said in my initial, Sorcs are a much better healing class. I can't speak to Mercs as a class, because I've only run with one, and she is flat out the best healer I've played with. But if you like your Op, and you are successful with it, people will notice, and you will do just fine with groups.
  10. How's that handle energy consumption? I think I would rather move the Vanish points to License to Kill to help with Cull's cost, or maybe even Counterstrike for a second root/snare purge. (Disclaimer: my thoughts are based on theory - I haven't talked myself up to moving away from my heal spec... Maybe after tonight's raid.)
  11. Yes, it would. I run 28/13 for Operations with a very rare trip into Warzones, though my point distribution is slightly different. 28/13 However, I recently learned that CM doesn't work, so I will be moving those points to Razor Edge on my next respec. I'm still fiddling with the other passives in Medicine trying to find a spec that fits exactly what I'm looking for. Edit: Heh, I was beat to the punch.
  12. I never use it in raids, for the reasons you have laid out. If it simply cost energy or a TA, I would almost certainly use it at times. It does have it's place in PvP, without a doubt, but I haven't found the right set of circumstances to justify using it in operations.

    Too Easy

I didn't see this addressed, so if I missed it, sorry. The Hard Mode Operation Schematic drops are BoP, but the resulting items are not. These are graded as Columi pieces and rate out quite well against most of the other earpiece options. For earpieces, they require 8 Mandalorian Iron pieces and 1 Alien Data Cube each - making them prohibitively expensive (at least on my server).
  14. I've had it (CM) on my Op forever, just never bothered to actually check for results... In the build I posted, I would probably move those 2 points to the 4% Alacrity increase then.
  15. I can't recall the last time I needed to pop AP because I let my power sink too low (I do, on occasion, deliberately over-cast and pop AP after). I'm not saying you cast Injection for TA, but considering the frequency of use on Injection (for me, at least), there is nothing "random" about getting TAs with medic spec. It certainly isn't energy efficient when looked at strictly as a TA builder, but it is reliable and consistent, which is about as far from random as you can get. I was simply intending to refute the "random" claim of Med-Ops by pointing out that we have an assured way to obtain TAs, and it comes from our most commonly used ability. Yes, RNG effects KP procs, but he blanketed all of the Medicine spec into his statement.
  16. I also failed to factor in Accomplished Doctor. I might screw around and see how high I can get my crits - just for grins, as I would have to give up some of my critical talents to make this happen. In actual game scenarios, 6-7k seems more realistic.
  17. Cybertech can make them. They are all Rank 1 - Rank 3 schematics that require blue UT mats to make.
  18. I'm working my Armscrafter up for two reasons. One: to make a weapon for Scorpio. Two: To make Choppers, since everyone is envious of mine on my Jugg.
  19. I love it on my Op... But the female laugh annoys me to no end.
  20. What? You cast the primary heal (Injection), you get a TA. Yes, the proc off of Kolto Probe can be seen as random, but when you have a guaranteed TA proc off of the staple ability in a line, it's not "somewhat random." Never mind that we Med-Ops still have access to Shiv, which, if the Med-Op is actually playing as a healer, will be available pretty much whenever it's needed (and really probably won't be used for anything other than TA generation.)
  21. I'm thinking that this could be a fun spec to try (with the obvious implication that I have not tried it yet): Med/Lethal
  22. I'm Cybertech, so I made Scorpio's gear no problem. The hard part has been her weapon. I use her for the occasional difficult pull, but otherwise a fully geared Temple (Columi/Champ) is just beastly. My next companion to gear will be Lokin with his Rakghoul form in mind, just for grins.
  23. I forgot about the merc buff... Add that on top of the 15% from Med Shield for an extra 25% on top of what your base self-heals do now. That should put you around 4k on base-self heals (while shield is up). With a good surge rating and some favorable RNG, you would be approaching 8k on crits. I pulled my 6.6 on a Sorc with the 8% healing buff. It is certainly fathomable on a self-heal with a 34% buff on incoming healing.
  24. My best is 6.6k in mostly Rakata. I'm sure that if I specced into Survival Training and Med Shield (a combined 24-25% [i haven't looked into how these bonuses are applied, I would assume that stack, which would be 24%; as opposed to them being applied individually, resulting in a hair over 25%] increase in base healing on yourself), I would be pushing 7.5k on self-heals. Edit: Without adrenal/relic popping, but with buffs/stim.
  25. No clue, but you can get an enhancement from the Heroic 2 daily on Ilum. I haven't done the Belsavis heroics to see if they give similar rewards.
