  1. Okay, just to add on the debate of absorption, defense and shield rating... All those have diminishing returns. So lets say you have 500 points in gear to allocate. If you put 500 in defense and 0 in shield and 0 in absorption. You will lots of diminishing returns on those 500 points. If you put 300 in defense, 100 in SR, 100 in AR, your 200 points not in defense will make you a lot less squishy. The diminishing returns on those 200 points will be minimal and you will have a lot more return on investment. There is a sheet somewhere here which shows you mean mitigation (total of all damage received) it is in my experience a very good way to know if you have good item allocation. Right now, the vanguard with all his talents improving the shield chance needs a lot of absorption to make up for it. A good balance of the 3 stats is what will make you less spiky and more regular in damage taken.
  2. Most my equipment is slotted, but my grip is the fact that enhancement and mods with AIM comes with little to no absorption. Shield rating is high up on mods, but there is no point of having 70% chance of shield if I only shield 30% of damage. Best balance is having close to equal shield and absorb. BTW I got lucky and found a belt this evening with +15 absorb, now sitting at 39.48% and 41.45% of shield chance.
  3. So, I am having a hard time to raise my absorption rating, it seems all the mods and enhancement with aim on it have little absorption on it. JK get a great mod with +25 absorption and we get one with +8. I find it very hard to keep a good balance of shield rating vs absorption. I have 41 shield chance and 37 absorption, that is with the gimp +25 absorb from 1 JK gear meaning I have gimped myself out of aim for absorb. I also have 14% defense rating. Anyone else have this problem ? Should I worry more about def rating instead of absorb?
  4. Then the forum today. Reminds me of world of Burgercraft. http://www.wowwiki.com/BurgerCraft#Welcome_to_BurgerCraft.21 Seeing how everyone is emotional, I think BW is doing a good job with the game. If people would not care they would not be here trying to "fix" the game. Give this game a couple of weeks, it is still in its infancy. You cannot expect them to be running when they are still learning to walk. Everyone should know this is BW first MMO. The day you stop enjoying the game, you stop playing it. You buy a console game and maybe play 24-48 hours top. Many players here have already 5-6 days in the game already on the first month. I think it is worth it. I for one enjoy being part of a game in evolution where the devs are human and can make errors. This is far from perfect but then again, who is?
  5. I am quite happy with BW too, I think they are learning, some will say slower than they should but still. They are doing a good job in general. I love the game, don't know how long it will keep me hooked but I don't see myself un-subscribing right now.
  6. This is pretty much the issue right there. People are very emotional when it comes to MMO. I don't think BW understand fully the relation between players/characters/CM/dev team. They should be here and control the situation not let it snowball. Hey here's an idea BW, listen to the conversation between the captain of the Costa Concordia and the Italian coast guard, right now BW you are the captain, we are the passenger. The coast guard is the subscription numbers. Right now, the coast guard is telling you to go on board of your vessel and save the passengers!
  7. Hihih, I must say this whole thing is very funny. Honestly if this game succeed, it will be a day to remember, I was here!
  8. Did you go to your ship? I know companion are "guests" until you go to your ship the first time after you get them.
  9. Quality > Quantity. Right now, they need to polish the game, not add more problem to it. A minority of players are at the door of Kaon, the majority is still leveling or trying to make a guild able to do Ops. I understand the OP frustration, but right now, adding more content for you to destroy will only lead you to want more content to destroy. For the rest of us, it is something to look forward in a couple of months. And yes I say destroy because the first to kill things are the first to complain about the lack of content or how easy everything is. Plug in your old Nintendo and beat ghost'n goblins if you want hard content, for me, Ghost'n Goblins is a game I will never go back to because I don't enjoy very hard game.
  10. Mortar and grenades specifically and I am sure other class have the same problem. Sometimes the circle will be blue and the ability will not launch, "target is too close" or something like that. Then you have to go back and re-click the ability and re-position the cursor so it is not too close. That can happen more than once in a row and makes the mortar in close range very hard to use. Maybe it is a class mechanic, as mortar should not be used close to us. tl;dr : What I would like though is, if the target is "too close", that the mortar stay active, so we could just re-position the cursor instead of clicking he icon again (or hotkey).
  11. Not to mention harpoon has to be used in range and if you are melee heavy they will hate you for doing the DK move.
  12. /sadface, so they put in 15+ quests only to be able to buy a couple of items... this is a sad.
  13. Gotta be honest I would rather have a good game patch then a buggy one. No reason to put out a patch right now as majority of players are still leveling up. Sure the hardcore raiders may find themselves short of things to do but for a lot of payers a solid gameplay > rushed content.
  14. I was just wondering if I am missing something. In pvp you can get full artifact items while you can jump in place and /laugh and on the other end you can pve. PvE breaks into single dailies content/heroic quests and hard mode flashpoint. PvP require only to be able to click 1 button every 4 minutes while the other ask you to either get a group together or fight mobs for a couple of hours to get daily commendations. The daily commendations rewards are : http://db.darthhater.com/items/2864/daily_commendation/#trade-for , in general it is : barrel, limited armoring, earpiece and implant. Am I missing something? What is the point of doing dailies except for credits, once you have your set of implant and earpiece there is no reason to do them anymore? I was waiting on today's patch to see if they would add more things to buy with dailies, but as far as I can see, PvP is the easiest and best way to gear yourself and it requires only to be present in the WZ. tl;dr : I don't want to see PvP reward nerfed, I know a lot of people enjoy it. What I want is the daily quests purchasable reward increased.
  15. Tier 1 to farm tier 1, if it was hard for evenly geared players, it would be stupidly hard for anyone not in T1.
  16. Just want to say Esseles is harder than Taral V, so if you want to do on, do Taral V.
  17. Taral V is very easy, 0 wipes, just CC the beast of the first mini-boss and mark the burn order. Essesles is spike dmg intensive, very hard to predict. If you have a hard time on the first boss, Ironfist and the last boss will make you want to destroy your keyboard.
  18. I have to agree with everyone here, HM Esseles is very tricky, not only the final boss though. Ironfist with his headshot can give nightmares. The problem with this instance is the spike damage, you can be at 100% and 2 sec later you are at 5%, giving the healer a hell of a time. Taral V is so easy when you compare it is not even funny, 0 wipes on Taral V, around 20 on Esseles. When you try 20 times a FP and sometimes you get the boss to 10% or other at 90% you realize something is utterly wrong with the FP. The spike damage is just too great in Esseles to be a fun encounter.
  19. I don't think so, I think they say the republic has too much woman power figures. Top general, republic leader... #1 jedi is a woman, #1 in military is woman. The only notable man is the Supreme Chancellor and I have never met him and I am at lvl 48. Sure there are plenty of men in charge, but 2 woman at top of military bodies feels a bit overdone.. and as I said in my previous post : Satele is BORING.
  20. +1, I don't know for sith, but for jedi, I fell they are zealots, drones of the order. I think the starting quests for jedi are very bad, it is very very generic. There are no emotions in the jedi order, and it feels bland, I want to attack all the teachers for being so weak against the initial threat. We have to kill to resolve all the problems but we have to say we hate doing it. I feel very disconnected with my jedi knight, he is another jedi in the long list of emotionless jedi.
  21. I am disappointed by our Republic leaders. Satele is very boring, she lacks personality. I feel like we have the shorthand of the jedi order. If she is supposed to be the best jedi we have for the job, I am very disappointed by the jedi. No wonder the empire is so well represented compared to republic, lord Malgus is very dark and very driven. Satele sounds like a needy jedi wanting to please everyone and without power to back it. She was in diaper at the begining of the game but when her master died she became the best jedi for the job? okay...
  22. On the contrary, my vision of the Jedi have always been a powerful person. When I made a jedi (padawan) I felt like I was in diapers. The story keeps pushing you down instead of up, the choice a way too self-righteous and there is sadly no gray line, everything is dark or light. When I played my Trooper, he was always praised, he is saving the republic. The padawan has to fight weaklings while all the jedi sit by and tell him how violence is not the answer. Go kill 30, but don't have fun! I am sorry, but the jedi knights on Tython are so weak it makes me puke. They get pushed by creatures that should be dispatched in a swift stroke by anything more than a civilian, let alone by a group of teaching jedi... These guys can't dispatch those creatures and tell me I have to learn from them, yeah right. Sure the jedi are powerful, but the way the story is told, it just feels like they are weak, obsessed and not able or morale choice. They are bound by their righteous religion and aren't able to think for themselves, they are drones. I haven't played the sith, but I am sure they empower your, not destroy your credibility.
