  1. my casual glances over most of the top parses from the parsely leaderboard a bit go were all showing power surge and mastery surge
  2. Both specs get the same set of raid utility buffs (vulnerable and overwhelm). For TK, you get vulnerable off of using mind crush from Mental Momentum.
  3. This is very vague. Are you looking for info about what's new, how a particular spec has changed, changes to the gear treadmill, or what.?
  4. Kathryne (pub) can craft Dread Forged Survivor's Device (mats + 500k)
  5. I'm pretty sure 2.0 will hit live servers on a Thursday because of the 5 day early access. Everyone will get the new skill trees and have their points reset, but only pre-order early access people will be able to level past 50, go to the new planet, or play the new content. The following Tuesday there will be a patch that unlocks the content to the people without early access and maybe deliver some quick fixes to problems found over the weekend.
  6. I actually don't expect mando iron to drop much considering how ridiculous the many of the earlier levels of purple metal still are. Won't stop me from offloading all of mine before patch hits though.
  7. I have fond memories of leveling my first character and either hearing the datacron hum or seeing the beam of light. I would then proceed to spend eternity trying to find the way to said datacron then successfully doing all the platforming involved ... only to have my hopes dashed to find out that datacron grants a stat that is useless to me.
  8. Think of the amount of effort you put into to go from 61 gear to 63 gear. Then stop and look at how many total stats you gained from the upgrade. Then compare that to what getting all the datacrons relevant to your class would give you. Last I checked, i figured a full set of datacrons being about equal to upgrading 1/3 of your gear a tier.
  9. Martial prowess is for mob tanking. Why would you not want to be able to interrupt/stun trash at will?
  10. I plan on testing a few different builds tonight while testing accuracy changes. So far, I plan to do on build with low DS priority and one with a higher DS priority (including the new talent wrap). I'll link some builds here as well when I'm done.
  11. I'll transfer my shadow onto pts tonight and compare parses with varying levels of accuracy. Will link results.
  12. I haven't gotten a chance to test out my shadow on the pts yet, but was toying around on my sage. The first thing I noticed was that accuracy was popping up all over the place on gear. At first I thought this might be some sort of horrible itemization issue, but I understood why when I was trying out different dps specs on the ops dummy. Attacks and abilities that would never miss/resisted before were no longer connecting 100%. As a shadow tank, we need our abilities to connect to build up our threat, trigger self heal, apply debuffs, and build proc stacks. Is the miss chance bad enough that we should be taking accuracy now?
  13. Try checking out the Voss, Section X, and space mission reputation. I've never quite understood the desire to grind new content to death the way people do. Getting to your cap by running it on a few chars throughout the week is one thing, but I couldn't stand doing the same missions over and over again much more than 10 total times throughout the week.
  14. Got a laugh from the end of your post. Just throw everything in a bank tab for few days then mail to your alts, give, or sell it as you see fit.
  15. Also not a revert. Sounds like they are just refactoring repair cost calculations again, but in away that costs less and makes a level of sense. Without being either a revert or a refund, not much left of your thread title
  16. My take was that this is OP's first character, but I may be wrong. It's much much harder to solo content when your character doesn't get sent crafted gear, credits to buy gear off the gtn, or have legacy perks.
  17. In the future, I would recommend resetting quest instead of abandoning them. You can also use the Esc key to break out of conversations that aren't going the way you want them too.
  18. Not really meant to be soloed by people looking for exp. You can reenter the instance at any level, the diminishing returns on the exp just get worse and worse. I believe you still earn exp at 16 though if you want to give it another go. Some things to check if you really want to try to solo this. Do you have an earpiece and headgear yet? These slots open up around your level. Make sure none of your gear pieces are too under level. Both tips apply to your companion as well. You can likely find cheap medpacks, stims, and maybe adrenals that might give you the extra push to clear it. As an aside, heroic moment can close the difficulty gap when you're close to defeating something. It's not going to help you clear something It also gets better if you have other characters at level 50 in order unlock special abilities only usable when heroic moment is active.
  19. I don't mind grouping with random people at all. The only place I mention random is when talking about fresh 50s. Since I do commonly help carry fresh 50 guild members through content above their gear level, I felt the need to differentiate. For guild runs, we can make sure they key roles and new people are on voice and ensure enough over geared people are present to make sure everything still runs smoothly. I'd say 3/4 group finder tier 1 hm fps run smooth as silk. LI HM is very hit or miss. EV tends to go well for the most part. If people aren't on the same page for Soa, you can easily lose people dropping down, but the over geared people can still take down the boss without them. KP is just a headache sometimes. I just have this mental picture of this exact same makeup of players checking the new tier of boxes. With the gap between the content's expected gear and the overgeared crowd's gear narrowing, hiccups that you can press though in tier 1 could easily necessitate kicks/disbands.
  20. For starters, there is no sub exp boost. There is a penalty to non subscribers. This distinction is relevant because the leveling content has exp payouts designed around a subscriptions level of exp gain + some bonus from rest. I very much like the current rate because it's all about providing alternate ways to level instead of having to do every single quest available to stay on track. If you don't particularly care for a planet, you can go back and do the bonus series on the previous planet, repeat heroic missions, do space missions, do pvp, or do flashpoints to make up the differences from skipping side quests. When I leveled my first char on both imperial and republic sides, I did all main and side quests, each flashpoint 2-3 times, a fair amount of space missions, a touch of pvp, about 1/3 of the heroic missions, little or no bonus series quests. On both sides, I kept pretty much right on level target. The legacy exp buffs and consumable exp buffs are relatively newer additions that do facilitate over leveling. They are designed for people who have already seen the content and want to just get to endgame as quickly as possible and non subs who want to make up for the exp penalty. If that's not you, don't use them.
  21. I wouldn't expect or even want this without some way to verify that players who aren't ready for the higher level content aren't allowed to queue. I don't really want to have to carry random fresh 50s in tionese/recruit gear through content balanced for columni. We already have to deal with people who haven't quite gotten a handle on how to their class at endgame yet and people who queue as the wrong role. The checks could be as simple as calculating the player's average gear rating and tracking completed content. If you've cleared EV + KP SM and your average gear rating is around that of full columni, EC + TFB SM and EV + KP HM should open up. Better yet if the rating calculate takes expertise into account proportional to other stats lost in the itemization process.
  22. This is a recurring event. BW could have only included low end rewards for this appearance and not included the high end rewards until even casual players have had enough time to achieve them. The problem is you end up will even more unhappy people that chose not to participate in the early occurrences because the rewards at the time did not interest them. Such people would be in same position as everyone is now where they have grind the event hard to get enough rep trophies and hoping the vendor stays around long enough for them to consume them all. BW has stated the the vendor isn't disappearing right away. They haven't said how long though. So, I wouldn't count on having two weeks to consume hoarded trophies. Also, the key to getting enough helix's isn't about hitting all of the helix quests possible. 16 man story mode Xeno is probably the best way to get trophies for most people. The SM is relatively easy to beat even if you don't fully fill your 16 man ops group. If you have a geared and skilled enough group, you can also do the hm for yet more helices.
  23. HP is just the quick/lazy filter for gear rating. I agree that the fight seems balanced such that even fresh 50s can clear it in a mix of tionese/recruit gear. So, 1900 is overkill. Being a pug group, the organisers were most likely looking to minimize the chance of wipes caused by people learning the fight. You can make up for sloppy mechanics execution to a degree by being overgeared.
  24. I highly suspect that most if not all repeatable missions will continue to be terminal based. It makes a level of sense to save on voice acting overhead there because everyone just spams spacebar to get through the dialogue after a while. Makab, however, should be voice over and full story quests on par to the planet mission lines you go through while leveling characters.
