  1. Correct me if Im wrong but the only use for droid parts in the game is for our ship droids, right? And everyone gets a healer companion which would be more effective than the ship droid out in the field. So why would anyone buy droid parts?
  2. Having leveled 4 50's in 4 months DOES NOT MAKE YOU A CASUAL GAMER
  3. How about a level 50 Open World PvP area like an Outlaws Den that has chests that drop Grade 7/8 Crafting Materials maybe on a 30 minute respawn timer? The crafting material for crafting PvP Armor/Mods/Enhancements that is! I hear these Materials drop on Explosive Conflict, but then PvP'ers are forces to PvE. I think this is a good solution.
  4. Main feature of Group Finder I would like to see: Players being able to setup a queue for a particular Operation/Flashpoint/Heroic, the player setting up the queue can define how many Tanks/DPS/Healers needed but cant specify what type of Tank etc... When other players open the LFG Tool they can see queue's that are open and if they are able to fill a spot--join in. The joining a queue would be akin to queue'ing for Warzones. You should be able to join from anywhere so that while you are waiting for the group to fill you can do other things. Additionally, the queue should have a level/gear check that will prevent seriously under-geared lower-level players from joining. The LFG feature should have a manual area too with a list of players that have flagged themselves as LFG for a particular encounter--in which World Bosses could be specified as well.

  6. Good Discussion Me personally, I like the fact nobody plays deception. I find it more rewarding and would prob move on from the class if everyone was playing it like they are Darkness. Anytime I see someone else using Voltaic Slash I'm like Holy **** another Deception Assassin! I'm level 65 valor and can count on one hand how many times I've seen someone else in a WZ. Tip: Go Cybertech and you can get a grenade (post 1.2) with a 3 minute cooldown that will group mez
  7. FULL BM geared valor 65 Deception checking in to say this: EVERY class in this game is viable and stand's on their own merits. Some classes are significantly easier to play effectively, while others are significantly more difficult to play effecively. ---This is strait from the Dev's. I love playing Deception and it is one of the more difficult AC's to play effectively well. I don't think I truly mastered the situational skills necessary to quickly burst down-kill good healers and increase survivability/lower death counts until around valor 50. You rarely see deception assassins at end game PvP because it is difficult enough just to execute the PROPER playstyle (not running into crowds, focus a target, finish targets i.e. what a real life assassin gets paid to do) in conjunction with the challenge of properly executing your situational abilities. It is the degree in difficulty to play it effectively that causes the misconception it is inferior. Truth be told all the classes can be great, when 'greatly played'. You like Darkness great, I like Deception, I get MVP votes, I get Wins, Im always top tier in Kills, and my burst alone is valued on my teams, not to mention stealth.
  8. As usual look at stats. For that matter, call me crazy but am I the only person who thinks BM Focus is inferior to Champion Focus? I'm planning on avoiding BM focus until pretty well WH geared and forced to get it for WH changeout
  9. I think animation was okay, but I HAD NO SOUND FROM JOLT! Made it confusing as to whether it landed or not.
  10. All classes and each skill tree is viable. The only thing not viable is a poorly played character. Choose whichever you think will provide the funnest playstyle. People (on forums) get so caught up in numbers and survivability. I have a Battlemaster Deception Assassin (Chain Shock Spec'd) and I will say this... I find gameplay very rewarding (fun). You will never have the highest damage numbers at the end of WZ and you will die more than most. You should however be in the top tier in # of kills though. You do have lots of CC and stuns to control 1v1 fights. Your Main Objective is to play like a real life assassin. Find a specific 'mark' and kill that player. You are not like a marauder who can do lots of damage to multiple players. Your at your best killing/distracting the other teams healers, 1v1 and finishing off players with less than 65% health. Of course all of this boils down to the fact that I enjoy utilizing the survivability mechanics deception assassins have as oppossed to just being able to take damage, respawning 5 - 10 times in any given warzone does not bother me and I like melee-burst-dps playstyle
  11. SUGGESTION: For lvl 50's on the Fleet, show the population on ILUM. You could have a ticker scroll underneath the Planet Population bar that keeps a real time count of population in each Open PvP area... I think this would facilitate populating these area's if one is there another will show and if 2 are there, someone else will show, on and on. Multiplying population size very quickly the larger the population goes. If you all of the sudden get done with a Warzone and you see OMG there 8/9 people on Ilum you would be inclined to travel to Ilum and check it out. Others would be to. Then the next Warzone group is done and see's OMG there are 15/15 people on Ilum very quickly you have 20 people. Just imagine if every lvl 50 on the Fleet saw 20+ people on Ilum. I really think this is KEY to World PvP
  12. I read "Dev Tracker" and there was post by one of the dev's that mentioned there will be a way to add augument slots to all gear including Social Gear (possibly through crafter/mod station??)... Which is great news. The bad news is it looks like that wont make it into 1.2, but hopefully 1.3..
  13. Actually BW announced at the Guild Summit last week that 38% of subscribers have reached level 50.
  14. I think these are very good ideas. Hey here's one: Put an on screen tracker for level 50's when they are on the fleet, that shows real time how many Imps and Repubs are in an Open World PvP area... I think that would lead to really quickly filling up Open World PvP and in a sequential efficient manner.
  15. It seems to me obsession about the game being all about gear has to do with ego boosting and perceptions that people think your sweet and you get your jollies off of that. Hey if thats why you play, then fine that's the great thing about an MMO you can play it however you like. I'd just like to point out your quests for greater and greater gear is a long grind for a short lived experience. i.e. what is so great about getting the new tier War Hero gear in 1.2 when the War Hero's will only be PvP'ing against other War Hero's? Again You have no advantage. But ohhhhh the Prestige! I just made myself LOL The world, the environment, the story, the mechanics, the social aspect, the crafting, the PvP, the epic flashpoints and operations this is the game. You gear up in order to more successfully and efficiently do these last things I mentioned. You do not get Gear for the sake of having gear--to what sit on the fleet and talk about your gear that you just wear and never do any content/pvp in? I dont get it man, I just dont get it--"Once I have max tier gear, I have no reason to play". You make it sound like you HATE playing this game--that its not fun. That the only shred of fun you have is when you are awarded gear. ---So to me it seems like you play a game that you HATE for gear that you LOVE. I just don't get it! AM I TAKING CRAZY PILLS?!?!
  16. Woah! Killer Instinct Nice Name Drop. I'm 30 and run a manufacturing business and feel exactly like everyone else does here, so this is really refreshing! Speaking of name drops I did a Heroic on Voss a few weeks ago and one of my party members knew what a BBS (Bulletin Board) was! We were laughing about how that was back before internet was big and you pretty much only got the phone numbers to call by knowing other people that had them. We laughed talking about playing text based games like Trade Wars! How about Mech Warrior?! That was revolutionary >
  17. Haha me too! I hate getting caught in that, and it seems so much more effective than our lightning.
  18. I assume your talking about recklessness charges? 1)Be sure to read and understand the tooltips of each ability in order to properly apply it. About Recklessness. Activating it gives you 2 charges that you have 20 seconds to use. The charges pretty much guarantee a critical strike for your next two FORCE attacks. So pop it and use 2 force attacks. Or if you want to be able to use force lightning from 30 meters it will do that, but you will have one less charge for a critical hit. If your deception spec'd u should be using Discharge and Shock after popping recklessness. If your madness prob Crushing Darkness and Shock. Take your pick if your Darkness
  19. Im pretty sure I picked up 1-2 Saber Marshall pieces almost everytime I ran Black Talon
  20. Yeah I'm 50 and this quest stands out as 1 of the 2 or 3 hardest quests in the whole story. I think I buffed like crazy--a well timed electrocute was important too I think. Medpack Available, Endurance Stim, and use Channel the force.
  21. I Like messing with the stats and optimizing to and having to really think about modding etc... SWTOR offers all of that and then some when you add in datacrons/matrix cubes/relics/offhands. I have to say this about your statement: 'getting gear to show off to your guildmates' Your guildmates don't care, I don't care, nobody cares what your gear is. You are in the minority of players who want to grind over and over again for months' to get something to say "Hey look at this" ---it does not make you cool dude, its cool to you and thats cool, but get over yourself and trying to impress people you have never met that don't really care that much anyway. There are cool things to get via grinding: Mounts/Social Gear (end game usable in 1.2) which actually differentiate you and do make people go wow that's cool.. And you can do that. Redundantly doing something for months in order to have gear that allows you to have a decent playing experience is one of the worst concepts an MMO can focus on. Now you want to something like that to make an appearence (mounts/outfit/title) that is super cool and rare b/c of the nature of obtaining it I am for that! But to make gameplay a ****** experience for months just in order to have fun, there is no fun in that. I mean c'mon after grinding to have fun your so sick of doing it that your about ready to stop anyway. Iv'e done it before I played Black Talon till I was blue in the face to get Social IV Rank. Cause I wanted Sand People Gear and the Alderran gear. Was it worth it yes, because I like being the only other sand people I have seen on my server (cant wait till 1.2 comes--so I can wear it again). But I can't imagine grinding like that in order to have a decent PvP experience. Gameplay should have more to do with Skill & Technique. Relying on seriously outgearing someone in order for you to own is WIZZEAAK. You are essentially complaining about an even playingfield.
  22. So you PvP to get gear so you can have your EPEEN Boosted? Playing a game is merely about having a certain status? I don't get so many of you type of MMO players. I played nothing but FPS games and Sports games before this. Everyone playing those games plays it because its fun and your status is owning people in Multiplayer matches and playing against human components instead of AI is more challenging and fun. Apparently the only reason you play is to get the best gear you can and sit on the fleet and say "Hey look at me everyone come check out my gear--Inspect my player!" Here is wakeup call to you and every other player with your conceptions NOBODY ELSE PLAYING THE GAME GIVES A RAT's *** about your gear. It does not make you cool. Do I like playing with SKILLED geared up people in Warzone's yes I prefer it. But then again I'm actually PLAYING that's the difference. Don't do Warzones if there not fun anymore. But wait to you its a grind so you can get your gear and stop playing warzones once you have? What the hell is the logic in that? Get real man, calling me the troll thats funny.
  23. First time MMO player here, I hit 50 2 weeks ago I don't know if that qualifies me as casual, but I'm definately not in the HARDCORE/Super Human crowd. I don't understand the stereotypical argument of "getting geared being the carrot on the stick" 'so once your fully geared there is no incentive to play'. I love PvP, to a certain degree gear is definitely a carrot, so once I have a full set of max tier PvP gear I'm going to pat myself on the back and say game over and not play anymore? Wrong, good gear enhances the experience, gear IS NOT the experience. Regardless of gear, I will stop playing in the same fashion I stop playing every other game. IT GETS OLD. Which brings me to my 2nd point NOTHING GETS OLDER FASTER, THAN GRINDING. Grinding is not fun, that's why its a grind. I think there is a lot of balance in this game and as far as GAMEPLAY MECHANICS go in PvP I think it is terrific and this is coming from a guy who historically plays multiplayer FPS games.
  24. ""CRYYYYYY... the logic is to keep you coming back otherwise you would be full BM in a week and have no reason to log on."" I just have to point out that I absolutely can not stand this logic being applied to any conversation nor can am I able to understand the people who apply it. Specifically the "...full BM in a wekk and have no reason to log on." How about I log on to PvP because PvP is fun! So you get full BM gear set and now you never log on to PvP? I mean seriously am I the only one that stops playing video games when I just tired of it and no longer interested? It's the gameplay (PvP) that is fun, when that gets old and redundant that is when I will not log-on anymore. Not because there is not another tier of gear to acquire. PUHLEASE!
