  1. You misinterpreted me. I meant most powerful in terms of gear. As in you could achieve the best items in the game for fighting other players. That's what I care about. After all fighting a computer is not nearly as fun. I thought it was a good thing compared to the days back in EverQuest where you needed 40 people to get a possible drop for one person. That was lame. Sure skill matterrs but jyou make assumptions about me. As far as the class and role I chose to play there's not much more to get better at 1v1. With someone playing a similar role and similar gear its going to be a close call if he's good. Now all classes and roles are deifinitely not equal. Some have a distinct advantage over others. It's also fun to be able to take multiple targets in warzones as well as open world. If you're doing that to simarly geared groups, don't kid yourself that its skill. Your one of the spec'd classes with an advantage. I got my *** rolled when I was a new 50 and I understood it was going to happen and was okay with it. I hadn't been playing that long. I could still learn more about teamwork, other classes etc. but I'm not looking forward to every fight being a tough one. Especially the new guys. Where is the sense of accomplishment and advancement if everyone is the same? Think about your favorite game. What if every encounter in it was a boss fight? That would get old fast. No you start out the underdog, gear up polish your technique and eventually youre a top contender. Then every so often as your dishing out the pain another ****** steps into the picture to challenge. Basically what swtor is doing now is a little like the elderscrolls and leveling all content up with you instead of making difficult areas and easier ones. Instead of auto leveling the npcs they are auto leveling the players. I'd rather not have the gear to begin with if the gear curve is going to be constantly reset. I'm on a phone so I can't edit my paragraphs easily. It's buggy.
  2. I think he said it best. Some on the other side of the argument keep saying to suck it up, its the nature of the beast etc... But it doesn't have to be this way. There are other games that dont do this. This is finally deal breaking for me. I've enjoyed my time up till recently and I think it might be time for me to move on.
  3. Yupp and when that facebook stock goes down and you see no reason for it to go back up you sell it. When swtor goes bad you quit. As me, I feel like complaining and venting a little bit before I have to do either.
  4. Its sucks because those that started collecting when it first came up wasted their time. Any game that has you collect gear is going to be about the gear, then skill comes in to whatever degree. If i wanted to play something that was purely dependent on skill I'd play a game like counter-strike. Everyone is giving the same equipment and weapon choices at the beginning of the match, then the best player or team wins. Gear grind is what gives you a goal in the game, how many people do you think would still be playing this game or warzones if leveling up or getting new gear didn't increase stats? It'd be fun till you finished the story and you'd move on like any other single player game.
  5. I'm not happy at all with war hero being made to cost the same as battlemaster. Why even bother doing flashpoints or operations. I have more endurance selecting the war hero mods that I want than a standard set of tank black hole gear. PvP gear should not be given away like this. I originally thought bioware had a great idea that endgame content could be achieved and you could be the most powerful character PvP wise if you just put the time in. In effect it gives everyone equal opportunity but I don't play a game to have things given to me or handed to other people. I've been a loyal subscriber since launch and have actively promoted this game to help it succeed because I want it to. I've even bought the game for friends and family. This makes me want to delete my character right now and quit. What's the point? Something that took me months of solid playing can now be achieved in 3-4 days and the cycle is just going to continue. Why do I want to spend another 3 months to grind elite when It'll just become dirt cheap. And yes I know new gears come out and make old ones not worthwhile anymore but not to the extreme nature of this. Why should someone who's been level 50 for a week or 2 be able to run in top tier gear?
  6. Grow up because he is unhappy with something he paid for? If I'm unhappy with the food I order in a restaurant I return it or get my money back if its that bad. Same thing with a product purchase. If he was getting this service for free you could be justified in telling him to "grow up." Being unhappy with a product or service you paid for has nothing to do with maturity level. In fact, to put it lightly, you are a pushover if you just accept your product/service provided is shoddy and will continue to be so.

  8. When something that was originally crazy difficult to get becomes incredibly easy to get, it devalues the item and time it took to obtain it. Why did I even bother? Sure that's going to happen in an mmo but does it have to happen all the time? If you keep all the gear progression items at a reasonable cost, the top tier gear doesn't have to be ridiculously priced because it will still take just as long to get it if you are a new 50. Hell I don't even care if the top tier gear is made more reasonable, I was just offering a sound alternative. I just prefer for my time not to feel waisted and not give a free ride for everyone to the top.
  9. I never asked to slow progression down, I want my hard work to not be thrown out the window. I'm totally fine with them adding new armor sets. What annoys me is that the tier below gets thrown out the window and then recruit is upgraded and given away for free. I feel like if someone just waits 3 months after new gear is released, they can get the gear in 1/3 of the time. I have a character and companion in full war hero. In previous mmos I've never been in the top tier armor sets and my opinion hasn't changed whether I was on one side of the fence or the other
  10. This is simply a plea to stop making older armor sets useless with each addition set added. I don't mind grinding new gear and getting new armor, it's fun but I hate when my work becomes meaningless. That battle master set I worked so hard for becomes cheap, then it gets taken away. Now war hero is becoming cheap too? What did I spend all that time for? It's frustrating for newer 50s too. they've started to grind out a few wh pieces maybe and now it becomes cheap and everyone has it now. By leaving in battlemaster at least the 50s that have played a little while will feel like they have something more invested in their character other than the guy that just hit 50 20 minutes ago. Then if you keep the previous sets in, you don't have to make the new gear so damn expensive because you only have 2 tiers of gear. I still have plenty to do now that I finally have a full set. I have fun. But with the way things are going it makes me feel like i could just quit for a year then catch up in a couple weeks. It makes me want to quit. Thats why I finally said goodbye to EverQuest.
  11. I would love to see Torian Cadera be able to use rifles. I feel a little let down when building up to getting the companion for the first time. I kept seeing him run about in cutscenes with a rifle and thinking... "I'm about to have a ****** mandalorian sidekick" Then when I got him, he could only use staves, which just looked silly to me. I love his skills, especially retractable blade and don't want to see his play style changed, just to be able to give him a rifle. We don't really have a commando type (I'm referring to a look not class) for our bounty hunter crew. Sniper, mechanic, and our computer technician is covered. Skadge covers the brute, run in and sword waving guy so I'm just not interested in a second melee companion. At least one that is non-sith. We don't have anyone to give that real mandalorian war feel. A character that you could see down in the trenches. With a rifle in his hands he could be equiped to look like a bad ***. I thought of this again after getting my Hk-51 for the first time and seeing he could use both sniper and regular rifles, as well as aim and cunning. I'm really hoping for this option later down the road. It'd make me extremely happy.
  12. Sorry if this has been answered but I haven't found anything online to give me a definitive answer. To start off, are healers penalized when healing themselves/others in open world environments like they are in warzones and areas like Ilum? I imagine they are not in PvE servers but what about PvP servers where nearly everywhere you go flags you into PvP. Does the penalty only apply itself only when you are attacked by a player or start to heal another player engaged against players? With those questions in mind it brings me to my real question. Does giving your healing companion PvP gear benefit them over PvE gear? Are they subject to the same PvP healing penalties and does expertise give them bonuses to healing your character? If not it would seem better to equip them with PvE gear to heal you when attacking other players. Would I want to equip a companion healer the same way I would want to equip my character if I was primarily a PvP healer?
  13. I was just thinking that wouldn't it be awesome to have another option for a warzone que that was 1v1? It's more like a gladiator duel type thing. Of course the rewards would be smaller for the shorter duration. This could be really interesting for a rated bracket as well. Each player waits for the Gates to open and release them from opposites end of an arena, and a crowd cheers them on coliseum style but with a star wars on take on the matter. This would be a separate que option so you don't have to play it. Would be nice when there are not enough people to enjoy an 8v8

  15. Wasn't sure anyone would actually respond to this. Awesome. I'm very fond of this game so I thought it was important to mention something I really liked about it. Most threads tend to be about what people hate and if any devs do peruse these forums I think you want them to see what people really loved about this game as well. That way the good things are not quietly left by the wayside. Maybe now that we've entered into full galactic conflict we'll actually see republic/empire amassing forces at key areas and trying to take strategic points in a new map with future expansions? I only played to lv 15 on Rift but it had some interesting ideas regarding npc takeover. I could see it being a more PvE or PvP event type. As long as there are some faction players to help tip the scale in npc defenders favor. Otherwise 45mins or so it's going to be taken back by each faction if no one intervenes, constantly flip flopping. If only republic players care about keeping it, they can hold onto it. The area really doesn't have to be that important to avoid factions losing a huge convenience etc. And if it's a PvE server and both factions show up and kill all defending and attacking npcs it becomes a draw and leaves it with the defenders? Maybe these small points of interest trigger temporary pvp if engaging in the fun? I could see it definitely being fun for the PvP servers. A few more points on the event thing, maybe if one faction holds onto it too long the attacking faction npcs become stronger or more numerous. I'm in favor of more numerous lol. It's always more fun to die after killing 20-30 things as opposed to 4 or 5 really tough things They already have some cool flashpoint boss type areas where you are swarmed by a mass of npcs. I love that "last stand" feeling. I would love to see this concept be used with troopers, jedis and sith I'm curious to see what becomes of Ilum. Picking up the armaments was annoying but it was a blast when enough of both factions engaged into a huge operations battle. A great break from warzone grinding as well. I think it would have been cool to have some weak npcs fighting along in the trenches for whomever owned that section of the map. Lv 35-40 with 2k health? Anyway my thoughts kind of took off all over the place. Time to go back to the game lol
  16. I've experienced the game to lv 50 and I just wanted to say that I love the Dune Sea on Tatooine. It's probably one of my favorite areas that I unfortunately didn't have much reason to quest in. It's huge, open and doesn't feel like your boxed into a finite space. Feels like you go go on forever. It doesn't have a creature spawning every 10 meters either, like the staple of mmos. Feels a little more organic with points of interests you travel to and fight instead of everywhere. I wish that was the center point of Tatooine. While I don't want to see this done for everything, I definitely enjoyed that aspect and hope to see it play a bigger role in future expansions where appropriate. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in for an aspect I really liked in the game. Oh and one last thing. I wish we could walk the path from the first speeder to the second if for some reason we really wanted to. They exhaustion hits you if you attempt to do so. I wouldn't care if it was empty of creatures, I'd actually prefer it but it would be nice to have the freedom.
  17. Absolutely. The one other complaint I have though is a lot of the time I can see half their body but can't target with tab. I have to manually click. He may be covered enough to not be hit by my attacks but soon enough he's going to come out. I want to be ready to hit him when he does. If I can see their name bar I want to be able to target with tab. Of course nearest first, then by distance would be perfect.
  18. Very true. I'd be really happy with what you suggested as well.
  19. I'd be interested in an optional feature to see our legacy name placed on our crafted items instead or as well as our first name. After all it's our legacy that identifies us across characters. For instance my character's name is Darick Skarr. These 3 options would be nice. Let the crafter choose. crafted by Darick crafted by Skarr crafted by Darick Skarr
