  1. You know this how? Also noone got a raw deal you got exactly what you paid for.
  2. Hes confusing what we get before f2p launches with what we get after. We know we will get 150 points per mo for all months we paid jan-july. From august on we get 200 a month until launch. There is nothing I know of that says what we will get after the f2p launch per month.
  3. There are no f2p games which will sell you a premade lvl capped character. They make more money off xp boosts than they would off of that. The only thing I have seen is where you can buy a character thats similar to one youd have done the intros on. In lotro you can buy a thing called "vet status" that will make you lvl 5 (out of 75 levels) and give you some minor gear/coin. The person who would pay for instant level cap will be bored and quit. People do spend quite a bit more using xp boosts and things of that nature.
  4. Little premature to be saying that. Nothing has been set in stone. There is no list of what is on the store. There is no chart of what the differences are between f2p and premium. Like GW2 there is nothing you HAVE to buy in the store most likely. People do not HAVE to have every single mount or every single cosmetic. I think we should wait and see what the final comparisons are.
  5. You will still have exactly the same thing as now. Why would you think your sub fee alone would grant you unlimited access to the store? That would make little sense. The stuff on the store is not in the game now. You still pay $15 a month. After launch they give you points free. Like people who buy coins you have to choose what you want.
  6. Why would they have a problem with people buying a bunch of points instead of paying a sub? Isnt that the whole point of selling coins? There would be no point in converting gold to points. The gold sellers would simply undercut whatever EA sells the coins for. You act like if you unsub there are not consequences to it. My sub fee covers exactly what it does now after f2p. I do not feel entitled to everything in the store free or that anything on the store must also be available somehow in the game.
  7. You have gotten to enjoy your CE all these months they have not. All games go on sale eventually. These are quicker because EA cut the price on Origin.
  8. If the subs get everything on the store then why even give them points? They fully expect people will pay a sub and buy points.
  9. Fact is they need to put stuff people want to buy on the store. If they dont put things people want to buy what is the point? There will be store exclusive speeders, cosmetics and probably social gear.
  10. They are never going to sell something that instantly grants you level cap. That would be simply shooting themselves in the foot. They also are never going to sell in game credits for points. You wont get people to play the game by handing them everything. Also it is impossible to switch factions so rule that out too. Advanced respec I can see being available in the store. Thats about it.
  11. WoW is sub based and the expansions cost money there also. Most games have expansions that cost money.
  12. Login to your account and add the key to it. Same as you did whatever version you currently own. It will upgrade your account with all the perks of the CE and give you 30 days of gametime.
  13. Is there a problem with everyone having it? Also you might be a little optimistic on how long it takes to get.
  14. I dont understand do you plan on making a bunch of accounts? You only get flagged as CE once. You cant add a bunch of CE codes to your acct and get the 1000 points for each one. Its a one time deal. If you make a bunch of accounts you understand you need to have paid recurring subs for all those to receive the points also. So I guess I dont get why you would be happy you have a bunch of CE boxes lying around.
  15. In DDO they are not that rare. In LOTRO and DDO the hardest things to get are not sold in the store. The items you need to make 1st and 2nd age legendary items for example. Tomes you can buy for gold in the game or trade with your friends. Why would you want it handed to you anyways? The whole point of these games is to play the game. If you just buy everything then whats the point?
  16. If you had actually read it you would know I was saying why I would pay a sub here but I do not pay a sub in another f2p game. I guess you just saw DDO mentioned and stopped reading.
  17. What you call grinding I call playing the game. They are random drops in the dungeons.
  18. I bought one to get a friend in the game. I broke my malgus statue so I stole his lol. He dont care about it anyways and I did get him the CE for free
  19. You can upgrade your current account with it. Just login and add the key to your current account. It will give you all the perks and 30 days of gametime.
  20. Id suggest you read the FAQ because the game wont cost $15 after f2p launches. http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/6522 <--
  21. The main reason I got the CE was for that store. I was promised on my box a dynamic store that would have things other people cannot get unless they are CE. Dynamic means they would add new things to it (possibly remove things from it making them even more collectible) every now and again. There has been nothing since launch. That is a huge selling point for me. Who wouldnt want access to social gear noone else can get? To me that sealed the deal I needed the CE.
  22. You can play DDO never give them a dime and if you spend enough time you can buy everything. I do not maintain a sub because I can earn the stuff without paying. In SWTOR I will maintain a sub because it works differently than DDO. In DDO I earn points everytime I do about anything just by playing the game. Same as LOTRO the other f2p game from turbine. In this game i cannot buy the content and retain access to it after I stop paying. DDO lets me do that.
  23. True ya maybe the messenger isnt perfect but the message is still a good one. Take lord of the rings online for example. They have 3 levels of purchase for the rohan expansion. The base version you get 1000 points and a mount. The heroic version (middle of the road like the dde here) you get all that plus a couple other cosmetic things. The heroic version also opens a ton of previous content if you are f2p that otherwise cost points. The legendary version (top end like a CE here) has everything the other two had plus for paying top dollar you get a 6th inventory bag free and a skill noone else gets for mounted combat. So if you want your customers to not complain simply follow this basic formula: Base gets A, DDE gets A + B, CE gets A+B+C. If you do that noone will complain. Noone is complaining over at lotro. (Well some people complain about anything but you know what I mean)
  24. He thinks the game will cost money after the f2p launch. I told him couple times the game will be free to download and play 1-50. I dont know if he just didnt see it or ignored it or what.
  25. Honestly to me buying from the store lessens my experence. I dont care if others do it but for me I'll play the game and get stuff that way. I mean isnt that the point of these games? I never understood people who would pay real money for stuff they could get simply by playing the game.
