  1. It sort of strains credibility (IMO) for Vette to be only 21, seeing as how (spoiler for both Warrior and Smuggler stories)... Seems to me she should have at least several more years on her.
  2. The person whispering you would still know you're online, because otherwise he'd get a system response of "Player not found". Oh, and if you happen to be AFK when the whisper comes in with this feature enabled, the system will respond for you to tell him "(your alt's name) is AFK." So, declining to respond is not a fix.
  3. Dorne is not naive. She's well aware that it's a dangerous galaxy out there and any number of people will be looking to capitalize on any weaknesses she shows. That's pretty much the antithesis of naivete.
  4. In this case, it's the purple item. It's a pet; some people will pay good money for those. Edit: Oh, wait; I'm sorry. That looks like a companion gift, actually. Still, that's your rare. Sadly, sometimes the rare just isn't a good one.
  5. I'll second that suggestion to ditch Percussive Shot. When the knockback does work in a flashpoint, it'll annoy tanks and melee DPS because you're forcing them to move around more and possibly interrupting their cast/channel attacks.
  6. Sorry, but you don't get to tell people to leave your thread. These forums are for the free use of everyone who subscribes to the TOR, and that includes posting in topics you created. And if you say something's a problem, and other people respond to tell you they don't think it's a problem, that's not trolling. It's not off-topic, either. It's a disagreement with your point, and it's totally on-topic.
  7. I don't see BioWare's approach as nickel-and-diming us. I see it as, they give us a small Cartel Coin stipend every month, so it's only proper for them to give us lots of little things to spend that allowance on. If they didn't, I'd probably just let my coins pile up, unused and forgotten. But since we're getting all these little things to buy with our coins, I get to enjoy receiving those coins. If I want to buy something more expensive, I'll go ahead and shell out the money for more coins. It was well worth the small expenditure to buy my Sniper that Clandestine Officer's Uniform and have her look like, you know, an actual Imperial operative.
  8. I had this stuck in my head when I was making my Gunslinger. I took her name from it. I guess that makes it her song... Here's one for Sith Sorcerers:
  9. DPS= Derps Per Second. I play a DPS, so I'm actually making fun of myself here. Don't be hatin'!
  10. Well, if my name doesn't ring any bells for you it probably is a coincidence. Still, I enjoy your stories and would like to read more!
  11. They don't really have "controller" and "support" roles here; it's just tank, heal, DPS. That said, one rule I support for DPS is to protect the healer. The tank protects the whole group from the stronger enemies, so DPS need to protect the healer from the weaker enemies.
  12. My flashpoint experience is pretty limited, but when I've had to use Surrender it's always made enough of a difference for the tank to re-establish aggro. The only time I've died from having aggro so far (apart from the occasional wipe), I didn't use Surrender because the tank was down and since I was #2 on the boss's aggro table, the duty fell to me to try to buy enough time for the tank to be combat-rezzed and healed. So, yeah, Surrender seems pretty effective to me so far.
  13. A second class story, unlocked after the first is completed, does seem like it'd give more incentive to level more alts, especially another alt of the same class. I'm sure that some people who've leveled Scoundrels don't want to level Gunslingers, too, just because it'd be the same story all over again. It might require more work than BioWare is willing to put in, though, as well as more money than EA is willing to spend, and I'm not entirely sure the return on that investment would be worth it for them. It'd keep people who are here just for the stories around a little longer, but I don't know if that's quite enough to make it worthwhile.
  14. Oh, all right, I'll take a look.
  15. Would that you had not prefaced your request with a plea for "common people" to hear it, else I might have felt moved to respond. As a man of the gentry, a Peer of the Crown, one might say, I cannot be caught up in the travails of such peasants as those you address. Do, however, allow me to wish you good fortune in... whatever it is you seek. Let it not be said that I am ungracious to those of... lesser station. Now, if you'll excuse me, it's time for my daily harrumphing session. Harrumph! Harrumph!
  16. It's not just with the Covert armor, and not just in cutscenes, either... http://imgur.com/utfpwJC
  17. Keep in mind, too, that this is based on my character's perception of events as they were presented in the story. My characters can only do as real people do, and make the best decisions they can on their limited knowledge.
  18. Pretty much every sentient species in Star Wars is a different take on humans, either a different color or a combination of human with something else. We've got green people, blue people, red people, colorless bald people and multi-hued people with bunny-ear-like tentacles already available in character creation, in addition to regular people and people with machine parts. Wookies and Ewoks? Bear people. Nautolans and Mon Calamari? Octopus people. Kaleesh and Ortolans? Elephant people. Togruta and Chagrians? Caterpillar people. Ugnaughts and Gamorreans? Pig people. Devaronians? Devil people. Bith? Butt people. Cat people really don't seem out of place to me.
  19. I have a response for those commenters who were puzzled that a Bounty Hunter would come across as an Imperial loyalist. I do view my (Light-side) Bounty Hunter as an Imperial loyalist after the events of chapters 2 and 3. She saw the Republic and Jedi at their worst, and came to the conclusion that while the Empire isn't much better, at least the Empire doesn't pretend to be better. The Empire is at least honest. I understand that a lot of Bounty Hunters made different choices and see the situation differently, but I just wanted to show that "Bounty Hunter as Imperial loyalist" is a legitimate resolution.
  20. I'm thinking it's a hit. Maybe not a bull's eye, but definitely a hit. I can see it getting old when you're running multiple characters through it, but I expected that because all the planets get old when you run multiple characters through them, especially one right after the other. I've pretty much just been playing one character since 2.0 hit. I've sent my other two 50s to Makeb, but haven't done much of anything there on either of them yet. I did really enjoy Makeb on my new main, a Gunslinger. The quests were interesting, and the planet looks nice. I do need to think about leveling my Sage to 55 pretty soon, because she's my Artificer and I'd like to have full access to all the craftable armor dyes when 2.1 hits. I've enjoyed the expansion, but I also didn't set my expectations too high. I've definitely gotten my $10 worth out if it.
  21. Nothing to stop you from doing that. The devs are okay with that, too. Keep in mind, though, that Unify Colors can do some unexpected things occasionally. My Gunslinger wears a tan coat that makes most leggings a dark blue with Unify Colors. I don't know how this will be affected by use of a dye on that chestpiece.
  22. We get Coins for free with a subscription, and there's only so much stuff you can buy from the Cartel Market. I like having lots of new little things to spend them on. Otherwise, your options are to let them accumulate or buy the same few things over and over. That said, for the most part I really like my characters' designs already. Seems to me if you design your characters well to begin with, you won't have to spend a whole lot of Coins making adjustments to them.
  23. On my first character to reach Hoth, I once ran up to one of those elevators in the base. The platform wasn't there, so I tried to rotate my camera to see where it was... and I accidentally hit both mouse buttons, so my character ran forward and fell down the shaft. The elevator was almost all the way to the bottom when I hit it. Instant death. There was a guy waiting at the bottom, and as he got on the platform, he /said, "Watch that first step; it's a doozy." The laugh I got out of that made it all worthwhile.
  24. Another way DPS can really aid the group is by helping to protect the healer. Anything attacking the healer should generally be top priority for at least one of the DPS. This doesn't mean you have to stand idle and wait for something to go after the healer; just sort of keep an eye out while you're doing your job. Don't think, "Aw, it's just a Normal; he can handle it." Sure, he could, but it'd be a lot faster for a DPS to take care of the situation. And while the healer's messing with that Normal, it's a lot harder for him to heal the tank. No sense making the tank drop what he's doing to protect the healer when a DPS will do just as well; besides, cleaning up those weaker enemies that are most likely to aggro the healer is your job, anyway. Just keep an eye out and change targets as needed, and you'll make things a lot easier for everyone.
