1. A friend of mine had this problem yesterday. HE lost his connection to the game and then got the maintanence message when he tried to log in again. He rebooted his system, and was able to log in with no problem. Not sure if the problem was with his network, his internet connection, or something between his Internet's point of connection and the European servers. I was on the whole time he had his issue and didn't notice the game functioning any differently for me.
2. Most likely, nearly all (if not all) shuttles use the same function for transfers between the planets and stations. Its much easier to do it that way than to create a separate transfer function for each and every shuttle in the game. Also, would take up less space in the program code which results in the program, as a whole, taking up less space on your hard drive. Don't let people like that first responder get to you. Some folk type before they think. A few of them fail to think all together. Fortunately, most people tend to think before they type.
3. You might want to change that to "some people". Personally, I would find it overly-cumbersome to read through each and every visual/audio fix they made for any particular patch. I"m just happy to know they are working on visual and audio discrepancies. I don't need to know what they all are. As someone else suggested, they could indicate an approximate number of issues that they fixed for the patch. Whether it be a planet by planet basis or a like-issue (ie; fixed 42 texture issues on Belsavis, Tatoonine, Makeb, and Tython) basis, doesn't really matter to me.
4. If the people that I would queue up to play with don't understand "not my fault", then they're people that I wouldn't want to, and shouldn't, play with in the first place. Probably explains why I don't queue for anything in game.
5. But, that's not what was stated. What was stated was that there would probably be a minority of players who would purchase the ewok, regardless of how the ewok was purchased. Of that minority of overall players, a fraction of them would use CC. If only 30% of the players get the Ewok to begin with, and 90% of them use CC to get the Ewok. that 27% of the total players is still a minority of the players overall. Granted, this is all speculation and not worth the electrons it's printed with. I would like to apologize for being such a horrible subscriber since early access. Since my highest legacy is 19. I don't have an infinite amount of time to spend playing. I also refuse to play with the general population. In my experience, I tend to get grouped with, to put it politely, moronic jerks. So, my legacy progression is a little slower than yours.
6. On my main server, I chose Chamma for my legacy. My main is a character that I used in the PnP Star Wars RPG years ago, named Cay. The name came from two different characters in the Tales of the Jedi source book for the Star Wars RPG. Cay Qel-Droma and Chamma. Of course, Cay Chamma is a Scoundrel; the closest thing I could come to for the character concept I used for the RPG. Also, based on events that happened to Cay in the PnP RPG, I have V'lan Chamma, his sister. Who happens to be an Inquisitor. I didn't know that she was his sister until after I found out that the Inquisitors start out as slaves and Cay was separated from the rest of his family by slavers. I have a couple of other legacy names on other servers. Horn ( main character on that server is Valin Horn who could be found in the Star Wars Universe somewhere) and Nightstar (because it was star wars-y sounding).
7.
True. Customer service isn't automatically bad because the customer didn't get what they want, but the way they tell the customer they won't get what they want is just as important.
That would also depend on the customer. Some customers are reasonable. Others are not. The unreasonable customer would vociferously spew bad ratings about CS just because they were informed that getting two 64 oz refills for 27 cents each is bad for business, especially when the largest size drink sold in the store is 32 oz. The reasonable customer would just pay 54 cents per refill and call it a day, instead of argue for 10 minutes with management. (<--- true story from a McDonald's employee back in 1997) Short story shorter; Good Customer Service requires both the customer and the service to work together towards a mutually beneficent and reasonable end. Unfortunately, reasonableness is trait that is quickly disappearing.
8. Then you didn't play City of Heroes, Exsteel, or Auto Assault. All of which were closed by NCSoft. CoH was even running in the black. Personally, I don't trust NCSoft to keep any new game running for more than 6 months, unless it is specifically tailored to run in their Asian grind market.
9. Yes. Yes, he did. Why? Because he's lactose intolerant and a meanie-head. Personally, I'm glad there isn't open world PvP. PvP is, in my opinion, one of the worst things to happen in a game. Not because I don't like going up against another player. But, because that other player is usually a douche that feels the immoral obligation to insult practically everyone else in the zone. At least, that is what usually happens to me on the few occasions when I have PvP'd in other games. I guess I could just be a douche magnet in PvP though...
10. I had quite a few that were completed before the transfer that were broken afterwards. I had completed all the kill counts on Korriban, but after the transfer, one of then is now registering 554 kills out of 100. I only transferred 3 Empire characters and 6 Republic characters over. The Risha kill count is showing something like 5900+ kills out of 1000. Those aren't the only one that were completed that were broken afterwards either. In addition, I have a count for Corso that reads around 980, but it won't change, no matter how many enemies I kill with Corso out.
11. Is that special place the same of reserved for people who talk in the theater as well?
12. Would you mind too terribly much if I used that as my Sig.?
13. I am thinking that the lock-out hits at around $100 spent within a week. I have a friend that was hit with the lockout for a month. Of course, there wasn't anything specifically telling her that she had exceeded the cash limit and that she should wait a week before spending more money. after repeated tries and a call to CS, she was informed to wait a month, then try it again. She's not much of a gambler. But sometimes, she has poor impulse control and wants the shinies right now.
14. Guys, In regards to mission dialog (in-game text for the missions), they aren't going to state that you have to take on a weak, Strong (silver star), or Elite (gold star) mob. When they refer to elite forces, they are referring to a squad or company that is far better trained and experienced than your normal soldier. So, you're looking for some of the forces (Weak, Normal, Strong, or Elite) what are related in some way to the Archon. This is why some of you are getting the quest items from Strong enemies. Remember, the mission description dialog won't be Meta-information about the mission. It will all be in character, so to speak.
15. 1) City of Heroes 2) SW:TOR 3) Star Trek Online 4) The Secret World 5) Champions Online
16. Unfortunately, is the idiotic people that dismiss being told that they're being idiotic and continue to spread their brand of idiocy and call everyone else an idiot. Your statement is incorrect. PvP players play for the PvP. Although, there are varying degrees of PvP players. I am aware that there are some people that don't mind PvP occasionally. Then there are those who practically live in the PvP areas and feed off the bones of the weak (usually lower level, under-geared players). I will be kind and say that most of the players in the game fall in between those two positions.
17. I pay for a subscription because it's more convenient for me. I tend to ignore the Cartel Market most of the time. So, the Cartel Coins that I get because I subscribe are a bonus. As we all know, you tend to pay more for convenience. Now, for the response I told you I'd give. Whether the coins are free or not all depends on perception. Your opinion on the subscribers paying for the Cartel Coins they get for being a subscriber is valid, from your point of view. Arguments for or against that point of view are all valid. Whether you believe them or not. You see the Cartel Coins as part of the package of being a subscriber. Although, you have to be a subscriber to get the complimentary Cartel Coins, I don't consider them as part of the Subscriber package. The same way I don't consider the fortune cookie I get at Panda Express as part of the meal I pay for. We are, pretty much, going to have to agree to disagree on this point.
18. Let me ask you this. Why do, or did, you pay for a subscription? Once you answer that simple question for me, I can respond to your arguments against my stance. Whether you'll accept my response or not remains to be seen. Judging from your views on the topic, I'm betting on "not".
19. They did not take away my access to the game for being a subscriber, though. Also, "value" is subjective. Try again. All of that is beside the point, however. The OP has stated that the Cartel Coins that come with a subscription are not free. Myself and others have refuted his faulty logic on that point. I still get, with my current subscription, everything that I got when I first started playing the game at launch. In addition to all of that, I get complimentary Cartel Coins. My subscription price has not gone up since I started playing at launch. Those Cartel Coins do not cost me any money. Hence, they are free.
20. You haven't shown any proof backing up your statement that subscriptions have lost value. Although, "value" is rather subjective. What, pray tell, have they taken away from my subscription that I was getting before?
21. I do not label rocket science or brain surgery as conjecture. Feel free to believe what you will. I can't stop you. I do like how you assume everyone who disagrees with you is a country bumpkin, though. Very mature of you.
22. I have had a similar issue with the collection. It didn't unlock either the Pink/Purple Indestructible or the Cyan/Blue Indestructible when I tried to register them. Then, to test a hunch, I had to log completely out of the game and log back in before they showed up as registered. At least now I have access to those two crystals...and a few other toys.
23. I wouldn't be all that surprised if they consulted so-called "fashion designers" for the color combinations. You would be surprised.
24. I read you original post, and I disagree with your opinion. I could repeat some of the rational for why I, and others, disagree with your opinion. But, I'm sure you would ignore it and continue to believe what you wish. Unless you can point me towards a quote from one of the developers stating that was the exact reason for giving subscribers 500 CCs, then I will have to treat your statement as baseless conjecture. Because that's what it is.
25. Shiv would benefit from an increase of the Strength stat on an Imperial Agent. Granted, it's not much, but you did ask.
