  1. Also, the affection level of the companion determines the Presence the character has. The higher the affection level the higher the presence that companion will add to the character. So, swapping a higher affection companion for a lower affection companion will affect the healing and damage that the companion will do, just because the boost from presence will be lower. At least, that is how I've understood how the presence stat works.
  2. It hasn't really helped me out all that much. But, my link is still new. So, I'll give it some time.
  3. I try to be polite and helpful. Maybe not friendly though. It takes a bit for me to call someone a friend. Most are acquaintances that I occasionally do things with. I actually have few actual friends. Of course, people have different definitions of friend as well. Although, friendly and friend are, technically, two different things. Anyway, hopefully, more people will be Friendly, polite and helpful.
  4. My advice, then, would be to lead by example. Show others respect, even if they don't show you the same courtesy. Or, as many others have expressed, just ignore the one harassing/bullying you. It worked for me in high school. Do you know what you are saying? That goes against the upbringing of an entire generation or five!
  5. I'm fairly certain that Blizzard didn't create WoW to try to compete with WoW. They just made a game that they wanted to make. It just happened that they had a well established brand-name to help draw in subscribers. Not to mention a lot of experience creating games. Two things that many other game companies are lacking. Granted, creating single player games is different than creating MMOs. There are still some similarities in knowing what the players would like. Which, an experienced gaming company would, most likely, have a better handle on. Bethesda is in a similar situation as Blizzard with it Elder Scrolls line of games. Although, The Elder Scrolls series doesn't seem to be as popular as the Warcraft series. Which would probably explain why TESO hasn't blown the sock off of WoW. They are still a company that has created a successful line of single player games (Arena throuh Skyrim) and took that next step to MMO. Hopefully they won't abandon their single player line and make an Elder Scrolls VI.
  6. In my experience, all MMOs are repetitive at the end game. Otherwise, it wouldn't be the END-game. My only problem with SWTOR is the linear story-line while leveling up. But then, I was spoiled by the vast amounts of content and stories in City of Heroes. Where you could take 10 characters from level 1 to the level cap and not have the same experience twice. Of course, once you reached the level cap, there was only so much for you to experience there, and missions became repetitive. Just like all MMOs. My opinion is that the "lack of end game content" wasn't the real reason that people left.
  7. You, sir, are using logic and common sense. Unfortunately, that will not work with most of the people that frequent forums. You need Passion, drama, and language sailors would blush at to get your point across. Even then, it'll just be ignored because you disagree with "them".
  8. Ok, having slogged though 14 pages of posts... Perception is reality. The perception is that "MEMBERS of this community", who are, however distasteful, representatives of this community, harassed a dev and his family. As representatives of this community, they lead to the perception that this is the way this community acts on occasion. Honestly, from what I have seen from this community over the years, it doesn't really surprise me. There are very few people here that I have seen that have actually tried to hold rational dialogues in their posts. Even when they don't agree with the "opposition" or the changes the devs want to make to the game, or parts of the game. Also, legal obligations will force them to restrict channels of communication. I am fairly certain that the "We" in Eric's response to the malicious behavior of "MEMBERS of the community" was referring to the devs themselves. As the Community Manager, he will still communicate with us. However, that communication may be less frequent than it has been. I seriously doubt that he would curtail all communication with the community. Communicating with us is his job, not the devs' job. CMs and devs are not the same thing. The scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz? Although, I think some people think they are archery targets.
  9. Unfortunately, I have seen few people that DPS react rationally when they screw up and get killed. I have rarely seen people that tank or heal react irrationally when they screw up and get someone else killed. Over the years, and many PUGs that I have, reluctantly, joined, I have learned that I need to be self sufficient, because I can't rely on most of my "teammates" to actually work as a team. Most of the PUGs that I have experienced have been a group of individuals attacking individual bad guys individually. The ones that are most likely to work as a team are the Healers and Tanks. As for why I don't Heal or Tank? I'm not good at either one.
  10. Are you sorting by price, price per unit, name, or some other sorting method? Most of the time, I'm sorting by price. Since I'm looking for cheaper items. for example, I'd buy an adaptive belt for a set listed at 50k, rather than the same belt listed at 500k. Of course, if I'm looking for a specific item in a long list of stuff, I tend to sort by name so I can find it easier. Especially if I'm not sure how to spell it in its entirety. After that,I narrow my search and then sort by price again. Anyway, was just curious about your sorting method.
  11. When I run grade 11 lockboxes, the greens generally return around 3k-4k, on average, and the blues average around 8k. I'll get 10k, if I'm lucky, and I've seen returns as low as 6k from the blue boxes. the whites, which I get a lot of, net me around 2k-3k. I don't they're as lucrative as you think they are. Running 5 lockbox missions will net me about 3k-5k profit. if I don't have any failures. I don't really consider that very lucrative. Just slightly profitable.
  12. I complained about all of the cyborg series armor sets. I hate each and every one of them. I just haven't complained on the forums. Until now, I guess...
  13. I think the default sort is random. Although, it shows that the sort is supposed to be by price (lowest to highest).
  14. I'm not sure if this is where you're looking or not. Just in case, here's a pic that might lead you to the right place, on the off chance you're not looking in the correct location. If, however, you are looking in the correct location, then you're particular version of the client has some serious achievement bugs.
  15. I'm guessing that everyone is talking about this red error message text? I don't really see how that can get in the way of the rest of the screen, since it's not really all that large and only takes up 2 lines max. I hardly ever notice the red text, even if I am spamming a key to get a power to go off before the cooldown.
