  1. I don't know about making it a pvp reward, but I would like to see it as a boe item, not a bop. I'm a crafter. Not a raider. And if they require this for all the orange crit gear coming up, I want to make these for my guild members. I do not want to run EV 7314 times trying to get a small stack of inventory, while vying with all the other members in my operation group who are now also trying to get a small inventory. Crafting should be based on crafting skill. Not your efficiency of performing raids. The two are seperate systems of a game that should be woven together, (ie, require the use of the item, but let raiders obtain it and crafters craft it), but one should not be equal with the other. With the new changes, (if crit orange gear is based on this alloy), raiders will be the crafters and the only 'skill' involved in crafting will be how many operations you can run in a week.
  2. I agree. I've gotten all of my orange recipes from UT missions, or the GTN and I have a fantastic guild who sends me any they find. Every once in a while, I get a recipe from a reward box, but those have only been blue prototype recipes. Some of the sites like TORhead or darthhaters have notes of where to obtain a couple of these, but I've had no luck with the mobs they list. It could be some beta information is still in their database, or perhaps I've just been unlucky with this aspect.
  3. I see quite a few of them. I think it's just random. I, for example, have yet to see any Reinforced Phobium schematics and had to rely on the posters here to fill in that gap for me in my master list.
  4. Thanks for the response. It would have been nice if it were the formula to determine armor value, or to know what that formula is, but knowing the 6 is just a default value they've given to the orange armor if you wore it unmodded is nice to know. At least it won't drive me too crazy anymore wondering what it's for =)
  5. With the crafting changes announced or hinted at for update 1.2, it looks as if the critically crafted orange gear will negate the need for other orange gear, thereby rendering it obsolete, and it appears as if the game is rewarding the hard core raider as the most proficient crafter (if the crit orange gear requires biometric crystal alloy), is this BioWare's intent? Or does BioWare have intentions to ensure the most proficient crafter is not the one who raids the most and the two systems are not so intertwined?
  6. Thanks! I think I'm still missing something, though. I had Warrior's Vest, 16 armor, rating 6. I added an armoring mod rating 58. I did the math, 58 x 6 = 348. The first thing I noticed is the armor didn't give me an armor value until after I equipped it, which I think is a bit odd. But, once I equipped it the armor value was only 247. Again, I'm just trying to make sense of this so if anyone can offer information that would be great. Did I do the math wrong? Is there some other formula I'm missing?
  7. So, for orange craftable gear (for synthweaving anyway), it says the base armor rating is 6. I know when you add the armoring in, the rating changes to reflect the armoring. It doesn't add to the base rating, the piece takes over the armoring rating. So, if I have Marauder's Elite Chestguard with an armor rating of 6, and put in an armoring with an armor rating of 76, my piece now has an armor rating of 76 (the same as the armoring). I know this. But, why is the 'armor rating 6' there to begin with? What does the 6 stand for? Why show it? Is it a modifier? A definer telling the armor rating of this particular type to revert to a specific formula for armor rating? Again, the question is, why show this number 6? Is it because all gear must have some armor rating and they chose the number 6? I'm really just curious!
  8. And thanks, Jetah for the shots! These fill in some of the missing looks =). If you're able to get shots of front and back, and male and female, that would be perfect! Especially since some of these show the tank top for the girl and it's hard to see how that would look on the guy's . I can try and put them in the gallery type format once you have them.
  9. I take screenshots of me wearing the armor in the model viewer, then click on my companion tab and take a shot of Malavai wearing it. That's how I get both female and male versions. Do you have a male companion you can do the same with? It would be great if you can get front and back shots of each as well, so we can have both views.
  10. Thanks, Ror. The lower level sets for Heavy Armor are those for Armormech, so it seems we're still looking for the missing level 11 and 15 Heavy Armor sets for Synthweaving . We're trying to get the screenshots up of all the looks. RyougaAyanami provided some great ones for the Imperial sets and I'm going to try and add to those tonight.
  11. I second Estelindis, Fantastic screenshots, RyougaAyanami!! Thank you =). I've added the screenshots to the original post. I also spent last night taking screenshots of the sets I have, but have yet to put them in the format of the others, so I will try to do that today. And I did change the Title of the thread yesterday, but it doesn't change it =(. Unless there's a way to do it and I'm missing it. Once we get all the looks up, maybe we can make a clean new thread, or someone with admin abilities here can change the title of the thread? And, I'd love to have the Armormech information too. Should that be a new thread, or combined with this one to have all craftable armors in one spot?
  12. I'm anxious to see if you've found the missing heavy Synthweaver sets! I've been searching the GTN for about a week now, once I became aware of the missing sets, and have to see any schematic for them. Either I have terrible luck finding them, they are REALLY rare, or they are indeed missing.
  13. I have downloaded FRAPS and will try to get the same type of screenshots for the Imperial sets to be consistent. I changed the headgear slot for the lower levels to say 'No headgear'. And, I've added the Republic sets into the original post. Once I get the Imperial screenshots, it should look great! It's also nice having all of this information in one place . Thanks!
  14. They have said they are working to correct this issue and the rate of return on reverse engineering in general for the next update. If you're worried about wasting resources, I'd wait for the update (update 1.2).

    Armormech

I'm a synthweaver, but I feel the frustration. I have to force armor on my guildmates and they only want orange, even though the armor I can make is oftentimes better as they level. It makes me wonder how much time and effort was spent on those other 450 recipes I have, the creation, the coding and the graphics...it seems like a giant waste of time. And that's sad because I love crafting. I know there's been debate back and forth, and I'm not trying to add to that, I just wish they would do something to make these other recipes either viable, or just remove them and give us all orange, or provide some other alternative.
  16. Estelindis, thank you for adding the republic counterparts! How did you get the model viewer shots? I would love to clean up all the darthhater links and do that for the Imperial sets. It's much nicer. And, it looks like there is no Heavy set for levels 15 and 11 for the Republic either. And, no headgear for anything under Level 19. I'm going to assume now that those do not exist. The only question remains was it an oversight and should we leave the placeholders for the future? Or is it intentional and we can remove those placeholders?
  17. Thanks for the missing Heavy 39 details! I've added it to the list. Now the only 'missing' sets are the Heavy level 11 and 15. Is this a purposeful thing, meaning Heavy was never meant to have a level 11 or 15 orange set, while medium and light do? Or they do exist and I haven't located them yet?
  18. Thanks! I'd love to add the Republic counterparts. Once you provide the information, I'll put it up asap. If you just have the list, that would be fine, too and I could add the link.
  19. Please sticky this thread . I've searched for this information online somewhere, but couldn't find a comprehensive list so I made my own. Some assumptions are made in this thread following the patterns I've seen. For example, I'm not sure there are headgear armors for any set under level 19, but I just don't know (We've come to the conclusion they do not exist and have removed the placeholders for the headgears for the lower levels). I also assumed since Medium and Light have armor sets for levels 11 and 15, Heavy Armor does too, but we have checked darthhaters and TORhead with no luck. If anyone has information on those missing sets, please post! Basically, I've created the list based on the schematics I have, and filled in the blanks if I noticed a pattern. Thanks Estelindis for providing screenshots of the Republic sets and RyougaAyanami and Narkedoff for some of the screenshots of the Imperial looks! I've added screenshots for the sets I have and I'll post the remaining sets once I receive them, or complete the sets myself. A question mark beside the armor means I do not have this schematic, but I assume it exists. I have also tried to clarify if there are class restrictions. And, because so many have asked, I'm adding a bit of information on how to obtain these schematics. If you are a synthweaver, you can make any piece listed here for your faction, as long as you find and learn the schematic. You can obtain these schematics the following ways: 1) Check the GTN at your respective Fleet. 2) Check the neutral GTN in Nar Shaddaa 3) Run Underworld Trading Missions. Each mission has a level range, (ie, 41-48) and if you receive a critical on that mission, you have the chance to bring back a schematic within the level range of the mission you ran. ------------------ Imperial Synthweaving Moddable Orange Armor Sets Heavy Fortified Electrum Imperial Appearance 50 - 20. Guild banks are coming in a major update. I thought they said the March update, but I couldn't find the thread. If anyone has it handy, please link. Guild capital ships have also been hinted at, but the banks are the first priority.
  21. The claim has been made that this is a single player game with some raids slapped onto the side of it. I love the game, I'm just curious -- what plans does BioWare have to incorporate more of the 'multi-player' part into the game, besides adding another flashpoint?
  22. Do you have plans to fine-tune the crafting and economy system? Specifically, what are the plans for orange armor, will it be given solely to the crafters? If not, will there be a reason to craft armor in the game? Are there plans to give something to the crafters that is theirs alone and ensure their viability?
  23. The one thing I find interesting about guys playing girls is they can't roleplay them as girls. I can usually identify a guy behind a girl (maybe 90% of the time) based on how they speak and the things they say.
  24. I love this thread and the ability to see everyone's opinions. I haven't even played one class through to completion, but I can post my opinions on what I have experienced. Sith Warrior -- my main is level 41. I enjoy the warrior more than I enjoy the story. The story is just kind of 'meh' for me. It's good, it just doesn't surprise me in any way or make me excited to see what happens next. I find myself willing to skip days before I even work on a class quest. Bounty Hunter -- I disliked the bounty hunter more than I disliked the story. The story seems predictable and that isn't necessarily bad if it's written well, but I just thought the BH was super easy and simplified so I don't like playing her at all. Sith Inquisitor -- I'm at level 21 with her and it's alright. I don't feel personally involved. The only time I was like, 'huh, now that's interesting!' is the last quest on Dromund Kaas. It was the only time I wanted to play her more to see what happens next. Imperial Agent -- I LOVED this story line. I loved it so much, I stopped playing my alt so I could go back and enjoy every moment of it after I'm done with my main (and will probably re-roll my alt so I can play it through from start to finish). I don't want to interrupt it at all. Favorite storyline so far, for me. Consular -- I played around her and I didn't hate the storyline at all. I rather enjoyed it, but my mains are imperials so I don't play her that often. I guess I enjoyed it because I can personally 'immerse' myself in this storyline much easier than I can say in the Inquisitor line. It was easier to imagine myself in the Consular's shoes, than it was the Inquisitor's. Smuggler -- I dabbled with this one and really enjoyed it. I think from the get go it's interesting and hope to go back and explore it more. Trooper -- I've heard others say they hated the storyline. I loved it. I think of all the ones I've played, it's one of the most immersive from the beginning, besides smuggler. I really felt like I was part of the action and involved and it was my duty to go do this or that.
