  1. They fixed Companion abilities turning themselves on awhile ago. (Unless they re-broke it?) Really this was a silly change. Ranged and melee tank companions already have almost identical skill sets, those who wanted a tank with a charge could have easily used Bowdaar. They should have went the opposite direction and given the other class's ranged tanks the Harpoon.
  2. Being immune to knockbacks and CC while using Master Strike would be hilarious.
  3. "Trinket" is a term from WoW where instead of abilities, classes would get a trinket that broke all CC. So it's referring to the CC-breaking abilities every class gets in SWTOR. "L2P" means Learn to Play.
  4. Slang term for potions. So in this game, med-pacs, stims, and adrenals. The thing about Diplomacy is that it's absolutely useless for leveling Biochem, but once your Biochem is at max you'll want it to create blue and purple items. Personally I'd take Slicing while leveling and then switch over to Diplomacy once you're finished leveling.
  5. -Cross server Flashpoints and PvP -Dual Spec -Server transfer or mergers, anything to fix the population issues.
  6. I agree. Sticky Grenade and Dirty Kick have me really excited, even if they're just for dailies.
  7. Companions getting hit for a lot of damage is normal. Interrupts and CC are pretty important in keeping yourself and your companion healthy. I use Tranquilizer or Slice Droid almost every pull, basically anything greater than a pack of normal rank mobs. During combat you should make heavy use of Dirty Kick, Flash Grenade, and Distraction. Distraction especially, as it's free and off the global cooldown and a lot of mob damage can come from their casted abilities. Later on, Triage also helps a lot of you're not using your healer companion. As I've gotten higher level, I've noticed that mob debuffs can take huge chunks of health off you.
  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Female Trooper sounds off. It really sounds like someone trying to deepen their voice instead of it being natural, it's almost comedic. Though that might be because I'm just accustomed to her as Phoenix.
  9. Try an Operative. It's not the player's fault that there's not much solo-content in this game for level 50 players, and certainly not Blizzard's. It's a "small facet" because that's how the game currently is, not because Blizzard brainwashed people to disagree with you. I should reiterate that I would prefer that this change didn't happen. I actually suggest an extreme swing in the opposite direction regarding this ability if you read my first post in this thread.
  10. Your play style while doing what exactly? Your companions and their abilities don't really come into play unless you're questing or maybe farming, perhaps rarely in a 5-man. This change affects a small facet of the game, and using the harpoon tactically isn't exactly hard to figure out or do. If you want to quit the game because of this change, then that's your prerogative, but it's really not something I can understand.
  11. Had this same idea, and I gotta say, I love the names you came up with. /signed!
  12. Instead of removing Corso's harpoon, I'd actually like if all the ranged tank companions were given a harpoon-like move instead of a charge. It's not even that I find the ability all that useful, but making the ranged and melee tank companions less uniform would be a welcome change. Gotta say people saying the class depends on the harpoon or that they're quitting over this change is kind of silly to me though.
  13. You might want to go back and actually see what the talent does now before calling this a "buff".
  14. Tara Strong in in tons of things, chances are most people have heard her voice somewhere.
  15. Concealment and Medic are both fine leveling specs, though for pure leveling speed I find going past 11 points in Medic is unnecessary. I've found leveling (Concealment) to be very easy. Things die quickly and skipping mob packs makes questing very quick. I've kept myself and Kaliyo up to date in customizable gear, mostly using planet commendations. As long as I use my CC (and more recently, Toxin Scan) and such correctly we're almost untouchable, I'm actually considering using Temple instead of Kaliyo since her tanking is seeming almost unneeded.
  16. Wouldn't using Cloaking Screen reset the mob anyway? These are kind of contradictory. On anything less than an Elite you're better of just using Lacerate as often as possible, mobs die too quickly for the TA damage boost to matter.
  17. This is actually not true. Lokin is the only healer that can't use his healing and DPS abilities in both stances, so he's technically worse than the other healer companions. Like another poster said, there are small differences between companions. Off of the top of my head for healers there's Dorne's heavy armor or Tharan Cedrax's better CC.
  18. There's absolutely no difference between a Blaster Rifle and a Blaster Pistol for Kaliyo, use whatever has the best stats for her at the time.
  19. From a story/personality perspective, Kaliyo. We don't see eye to eye on most thing but that makes her interesting. She also says some absolutely hilarious things, some of the best lines in the game. From a combat perspective, again Kaliyo. Never found a reason to replace her yet, though I might start cycling her and Temple.
  20. The talent is crappy, yes, but increased damage is increased damage. It's not like Concealment is bursting with good alternatives. Both Medic and Concealment work very well.
  21. You've probably been focusing on just story quests, right? You're extremely underleveled for this point in the story, you should be 15+.
