    But 2.0 has seen an increase in population. I have been seeing ppl on my friends list that I have not seen for sometime. When i was on there was 100+ on the rep fleet aswell as 8 instances on Makeb, which is pretty good for Dalborra.

     

    Hopefully many of these ppl will stay after the initial rush to play the new content dies off. But that will depend on BW, if they keep up their regular updates. We really need to see some 'new' FPs soon, I'm sure PvPers would like to see some WZs and I hope they don't take too long with the new guild perks they have hinted at.

     

    Although that is good it's still not enough to warrant a local server merge.

     

    I just wish they would hurry up and give us a timeframe/set date

    You are making inflammatory posts aimed at soliciting an emotional response. It is no longer a matter of you stating your opinion, that has been done many many times already. Now your posts are aimed at making the APAC feel bad. This is highlighted by your signature. Please find a new bridge, or better yet, develop a higher sense of self and find your kicks somewhere other than trolling people who are already agitated by the proposed merger.

    He is not grasping at straws, made an accurate statement.

     

    And you are only 1/2 right, when the dust settles some of us will unhappily find ourselves on a US server.

     

    Funnily enough the busiest server they have, also noted from watching the servers for a few days the EU servers hardly come off light,and yet they felt it was prudent to close Dalborra. Lookout EU your next!

    Oh I'm far from upset ;) and seeing as you labeled me the voice of reason il agree. I'm for the logical side of this argument.

    Mate, if have put my name on that petition, but there is accepting it being in reality where you know the chances of that changing anything are slim but still hopeful, and there is closing your eyes sticking your fingers in your ears thinking they are going to change their minds if you wish real hard.

    After all the rage on the forums about this topic doesn't even rate a response from those in charge, I would at least like a little information so i can plan accordingly. I'm sorry if this upsets you, I would love to be able to stay at 30ms, but I would also love to never have to work again but get buckets of money each week, eat what ever food I want without putting on weight and a bra that can manage to hold my ***** in place while I run. I am though, a realist.

     

    Don't bother..

     

    If a gaming company like Blizzard or ArenaNet pissed in a cup they would cheer and boast how it taste like wine.

     

    If Bioware gave them water, they would mutter and gossip about how queer it tastes.

     

    My point being you can't reason with fanboys/haters and people who think Ping is more important than population, because honestly anyone who thinks like that sorry but I would have to peg their IQ at about 65.

    Some ppl have accepted it, there are 843 who publicly don't accept it. There are many more who would if they knew about the petition. There is also a server event this Sunday 5 pm AEDT to protest it.

     

    Will it work? Probably not. EA are well known for not listening to its customers. But we are willing to fight the decision until the end.

    Nonsense... so it's good that you put it in red font.

     

    Their track record on server merges is pretty good actually. Not fast enough last year to please everyone in the US... but much faster then your fear, doom, and doubt campaign states. ;)

     

    Your local servers will be lights out no later then sometime this summer.

    jackdaley doesn't keep up with the high end raiding and I can understand that the casual audience, who may not need the super quick response time and fast reflexes, will have a more enjoyable time when merged with the US servers. Those who want to really challenge themselves though, especially with high end tanking and healing, needing to make split second decisions that just becomes too unreliable on 250+ms, may not enjoy the game as much.

     

    Is it really that hard to understand that your way of thinking isn't the only solution? To laugh at what many of the population believe is another solution to a problem just seems small minded and immature.

    Oh the other thing, dont forget this wont happen this year anyway. The status quo will remain as is for at least till 2014.

     

    How can I claim that, just have a look at Bioware's track record for implementing server merges. They have also stated that they have to update the server merge technology to accomodate ROTHC.

     

    Considering ROTHC is being launched next week, we will have at least three months for them to bed the technology down and work out the major bugs/design flaws which will then bring us into June if we are lucky.

     

    Then with development. testing and release of the server merges, I'm betting it will take another 6 months.

     

    So us APAC players will be still playing on our abandoned servers for the remainder of this year, or at least a majority of it.

     

    Dude they're going to bring out char transfers before the merges.

     

    And they've already tested these transfers on the PTS, and from what i've read it was succesful.

     

    So it will come most likely in winter.

    I agree population > ping/community

    Petitioning this happening is a joke and they. Will be very disappointed.

    As for the server meeting party thing.... If the apac servers were so good how come these things don't happen on the regular? Waste of time for all involved.

     

    I hope they merge us with NA soon ! :)

     

    I agree it is a waste of time really!

     

    Once it's over it really only reinforce EAWARES decision to merge the servers.

    Pre-cursor: I'm from the APAC region and have toons for all 3 and am 100% for the server merges/ char transfers

     

    Some uneducated players with unrealistic expectations are trying to get the APAC Server Solution reversed.

     

    Now I know these guys have been talking to death about it and I;m sure you've heard of their laughable petition going around. But perhaps if they see some people who have logic bump this thread and agree with me they can be shown the error of their ways

     

    THEY HONESTLY THINK PING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN POPULATION! HOW IMPORTANT IS THE PING IN PVP/FLASHPOINTS/OPS IF YOU CANT EVEN GET A QUEUE POP!

     

    That is really the basis of their agurment, also the primetime aswell but the US servers are way more populated during our primetime than the APAC servers

     

    Also they are planning a Server gathering with unoofical events on Dalborra just to show that a single APAC server can sustain a healthy population: little do these guys realise once said event is over the server population will just fade back into obscurity.

    GM's of all the APAC Guilds invited to a Round Table with EsKy and Scorpio to discuss

    single APAC Server

     

     

    • 5:30PM AEDT - WARZONES!

    Pre-50 Warzone Ques on both Imperial and Republic side!

    Not sure if this has been mentioned but.....

     

    The Oceanic Gamer website has done a story on the petition to save the APAC servers. A little media attention never hurts especially when they are sympathetic to the cause.
