  1. It is pretty balanced, considering how young the game is. Especially compared to the last MMOs i played, like WAR where in the first months you had bugged marauders spamming double hitting demolition, imba magus with unlimited pull, uber imba armor piercing witch elves, all mighty bright wizards of dewm, then you had immortals WPs and DoKs, and so on, stupid AOEs doing more dmage than single target, squig herders and shamans being absolute kings in 6v6, and the list goes on. Or Rift, where in the beginning you had unstoppable unkillable unkitable uber damaging warriors, then you had 2shotting pyros, then the game bored me and i wouldn't know. Or Aion, with pretty much useless melee classes in Abyss. In here, well, according to the forums every class needs to be nerfed so it's a good sign
  2. Sorry, but point #2 is not entirely true. First, we have cloaking screen with advanced cloaking, which is just awesome. If that's on CD, we can still foresee a KB coming and use debilitate on a fully resolved target to get the slip away speed boost. If we don't want to waste debilitte on that, we still can drop into cover (no gcd) and toss an explosive probe (range 30 meters) and if we snared the tagret first, we'll have time to follow up with a snipe before he gets out of range, and that is some pretty darn nasty ranged damage. Number #3 is not entirely true either. The point is almost any other class in order to survive us *needs* the break CC not on cooldown, otherwise, they're screwed pretty much, and since we can pick the moment to attack, relying on CDs isn't much of an issue for us. The other typical argument that goes like, ehi, if you had a tank peeling us off or a pocket healer saving you is bullcrap and we all know it. That's 2 people to counter 1. The counter argument "we can't kill a guy defended by a tank by ourselves" (not entirely true tbh) is crap as well, if you attack 2 people, you attack with 2 people, period. That said, i know balancing this type of class isn't easy, it's walking a very thin line between OP and useless, but i think every one of us can reckon our alpha strikes need to be looked at, very carefully, and probably they don't deserve being struck by a 100 ton nerf hammer, but a some tweak is in order.
  3. i guess all this operatives that say "omgomg a KB ****s me op i'm just melee" tend to forget they do have one little ranged combo that goes like cover--> explosive probe ---> snipe or even regular attack, 3 seconds needed (3.5 with snipe). And that can easily finish off the HP remaining from the alpha opener on non tanks. And god forbids 2 operatives team up and just go around the map bum****** people, it's just brutal.
  4. sorc vs trooper (commando. same as merc, gonna use merc's abilities names): have static shield on before the fight starts so you're not ionized mid fight and can put up a second one, jolt their first tracer missile so you get full stack of heat signatures 5 secs later, use your stun wisely (ie when they pop energy shield) and heal yourself during said stun duration, try to be on the 30 meters line so you can go out of their TM range during their casting time and make them lose the cast. It's pretty easy. Against shadows or high level scoundrels if they get the drop on you from stealth it's kinda rough, as it's supposed to be tbh, but my sorc still ain't that high level and i might be missing some nice tools xD
  5. i do heal all the time, both on my sorc and on my merc. I don't really have issues staying alive because i'm not "protected", i'm one old timer hardcore PvPer, and i kinda have a keen eye for positioning and prekiting potential threats, and to be honest the amount of defensive tricks healers have in here are more than enough to keep me alive most of the times. Altough, there are issues that make healing frustrating atm. UI bugs almost everytime, and having to click on players on the screen is slow and downright irritating a lot of times, especially when you're trying to put a shield and drop a couple heals on that marauder with a death wish leaping in the middle of a huge *** melee. Another thing is LOS. In hutball it makes pretty much impossible casting the most efficient heals on anyone who's not in some voice chat with you, so it's bound to be using quicker heals, less efficient and way more resource costly. On the bomb one it's better yet not optimal, on aldeeran it goes pretty smooth. Lastly, one thing that bothers my pride and e-peen. MVP votes. They go 90% of the times to some random dude busting out 200k dmg (easy as taking a stroll, on BH at least, i reckon tab targeting and firing tracer missile is enough to do that), while me healing for insane amounts barely gets noticed. Bothersome, especially considering the amount of whining for no heals when i go dps for a change.
