  1. So Imperials as referred to in the movies, the Legacy Era and the Imperial Remnant New Republic all originated from the ingame Empire that the Sith Emperor built during the Rebirth of the Sith Empire? Cool that is consistent with the Galactic History clip on this website - http://www.swtor.com/holonet/galactic-history (BTC1251). However, in that clip there is a reference to the Imperial People helping the Sith Empire rebuild on Dromund Kaas. This would indidcate that the Imperials - who aren't Sith - have a history seperate to the Sith and Fallen Jedi and that the two factions (Sith and Imperials) converged after the Great Hyperspace War when the Sith fled Korriban and headed into the Unkown Regions and rebuilt their Empire. It's similar to the Galatic Republic having a seperate history from the Jedi and the two factions converged when the Jedi joined the Republic.
  2. Limiting isn't it? Why is there only 3 lightsaber colours in the game and why do the yellow crystals come with the best stats? IMO one of the best features in KoToR 2 was the lightsaber crafting. You could craft the cell, emitter, lens and had a choice of different crystals with different colours. Sure most were different hues or a combination of red, green and blue but by being able to go orange (viridian, silver, violet), for example, was a way of personalising your blade in a way that is lost in this game. And lets face it, lightsabers: how they look and the colour of the blade, is one of the most definitive and personal features of the [our] Jedi and Sith. So do we know if there will be better lightsaber personalisation or at the very least more variety of crystal colours?
  3. I've got the Shoruded Knight PvP robes. It has a hood on the back, is there any way to put the hood on my character's head?
  4. OK so we know the origin of the Galatic Republic. We also know the origin of the Jedi and Sith. But how did the Imperials (not the empire get started)?
  5. Rogue Moon. Not sure the server population. Usually light, it happens irrespective of whether their is 20+ or 12 people on the fleet station.
  6. Yes the frame drops. As in I'm moving, everything stops and then I'm either positioned where I am having not moved OR I've moved several steps forward. It happens as I enter each section of the station and when I move from the central social area to the shops.
  7. I just spent several days completing Taris. Hard slog that it is I spent so long doing it that it takes me from level 19 - 25. I save up for my mount, which isn't hard. I have 19,000 credits left only to find out that I need another 35,000 credits to learn how to pilot the thing. What is the point of making it so expensive? Why make it so hard to get a mount during the early stages of the game? What does the game, and players, from making it so inaccessible to ride/pilot a mount? The maps are big, bordering huge (which is great). There's a large number of missions on each planet (equally great). Walking/Running around eats so much time it makes moving from one area to the next so arduous, frankly painful and so frustrating. That I'm going to have to stop playing for a while and get my head around doing another set of missions to raise funds to learn how to pilot a mount (which is not so great). Naturally other games have multiple ways you can generate cash, the most notable is an auction but this game doesn't have one so commerce is mostly dead (and commerce/trading is a key feature within the Star Wars Universe) and this is compounded on if you're on a dead server.... Honestly, if things are going to be this expensive then there are going to have to be better ways to enable players to generate the initial funds to fully enjoy the game.
  8. Whenever I go to the Fleet, whether Imperial or Republic I always experience lag. Does this happen to anyone else? I have a good connection. My server lag is 27ms, which I'm told is not bad. No where else in the game do I experience this but at the fleet, what gives? Does this happen to anyone else? My system: 3.4ghz Phenom 16gb ram Radeon 6770
  9. So anytime over the period of five days. Thanks.
  10. Did they happen to say when this week? Honestly giving the growing frustration of the player base and catalyst low populated servers - all it needs is one clear thread, maybe give a link on the front page to the forum where the thread is stating and fleshing out plans to address the low server populations and help build and manage expectations for the 1.3 patch. The silent approach is not building expectation it's just creating more anxiety and frustration. That said, I'll check twitter. I guess they can't lock and delete threads there.
  11. Have Bioware confirmed when we they announce the 1.3 update? I think I read that something would be released today but can't be too sure - think that thread was deleted too.
  12. 2 people on the republic fleet station just a moment ago. 27 people on the entire server. It's Saturday 6.45am here. I'd say that was low.
  13. With the large number of "SWTOR is going to die", "D3 killed SWTOR", "IF <<insert feature>> doesn't happen the game will die" threads I was certain that it was the 'end of days'. I mean everyone on the forum has an opinion. If I didn't know better I'd think these people are armed with a complete set of analytics/metrics on server population, new/current/renewed subscriptions, turnover, profit and (inside) information of Bioware's project plan to determine what success looks like to the company. In truth we don't and no the game is not going to die. Yes the game needs developing, what MMO doesn't? WoW was released in 2004 and is still being developed. And believe it or not EverQuest was released in 1999 and is still being developed/getting content. This game is 6 months old, there hasn't been one truly player wide game breaking moment/bug/update. The devs communicate and customer support is helpful. You know server transfers are coming so why are you moaning? The only reason people complain in the sensationlist fashion that they do is because it's a accepted culture in MMOs. Something doesn't work "game is going to die", A gaming decision is taken that you don't like "game is going to die". Truth of the matter is, the game is only going to die if you (i) stop playing and (ii) leave. If you're that upset speak with your wallet. Frustrated by the lack of - what seems to be - basic features in others games. Disgruntled by the low server populations. Sensationlists posts and ultimatums don't help anyone. Constructive criticism does. AND if you look closely enough you'll realise that the devs actually do listen and respond to constructive, objective feedback. So how about working with the devs to make this a better game as oppose to wishing it dead?
  14. 1.2 was what made me make a 3 month subscription. I liked it. I disagree with your assertions. I find them a tad sensationalist.
  15. Is your Guild masters name Dushi? I regard Rift as arguably the best/most stable MMO I have played (its subjective so there is no point arguing against my opinion). I pay my subcription and that is it. I don't see why I should have to pay to be transfered from one server to another. If I wanted to move from a EU server to a US or Asia-Pacific server then that I could almost understand. But granting me the ability to move from one server to another helps me to contribute towards saving BioWare's game (because I will continue playing if I can move for free). I don't see why I should be charged for this. All that said, I think they'll allow you to move to medium populated servers for free. Charge you to move to heavily populated servers. Prevent you from moving to very heavily populated servers. I think any administered charge will act as a deterent (part of the problem at launch was that everyone chose very heavy/heavily populated servers causeing bottle necks for people trying to log-in) than a cash generation process.
  16. How do you find out what crafting level you are? OK, so I have artiface and I have a schematic that requires me to be level 20 to learn it. The highest level item I can craft is level 15. When I click the schematic (lightsaber) it won't let me learn it and tells me I'm not at that level. How do I find out what crafting level I am? It is not, "press n" or the 91/400 listed next to Artiface in my crew management window. Is there any way I can find out what crafting level I am?
  17. OK so the provision of applying a cost isn't being used to imply that those (heavy) servers are somehow better. The cost is actually being used as a barrier to entry to deter people from migrating to them. OK that I get, understand and like. BioWare full of win.
  18. Link to the original thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=446040
  19. I did with STO and BOY DID IT FEEL GOOD. After the year long content drought, endless game breaking patches, crappy ship designs, the initial war between micro-transactions and in-game free content, missed deadlines when they said they'd launch new content/missions - launches I took time off work for/worked from home for, the actual shocking state of some launches - new Earth Space Dock - that needed a systems restart, no consideration for EU players so they'd down servers at 12pm GMT on a Thurs, (Fri and weekend on some occassions) and the fact that the previous 12.3 AMD drivers weren't compatiable with their engine so instead of solving the issue they simply didn't respond, the solution? Wait a month until AMD launch the 12.4 drivers! So more than a year or so of disgusting service. It was cathartic to leave a "I am leaving thread". Compared to that tripe this game is a revelation. The moderators are active, the customer service team does reply and despite the solutions are complex at least they go through every problem (even when it's clearly the same problem they solved for another user moments prior) in a systematic and tested process. And its clear that every update is being tested prior to beta testing and launch - which is why it is probably taking longer to see updates. I get irked by threads of this game is fail. The game is still too new to fail yet, there are still too many people willing to see where it is going. If it's going to fail it will fail in its second year when players can fully review the games progress, development, how things (problems) are handled and have a clearer idea of where the game is heading. And to put things into perspective Star Trek Online, a game rushed to launch, did not fail. So to all I'd say reserve judgement for a year at least.
  20. I don't understand the logic behind some transfers being free and others not being free, well other than cash generation. Doing so will potentially place the then premium servers in high demand - potentially creating overcrowding. Or, everyone will migrate to free servers not wanting to pay a premium and they become potentially overcrowded. At the very least what will the premium servers have that warrants a fee to be transfered into them? Surely server migration/transfers is a relatively easy process and should be covered by our subscriptions?
  21. Some people have mentioned joining a guild but how effective is a guild on a dead server? That said I did ask to be in Disavowed - seemed to be the most popular guild on my server - they didn't reply with an invite... I'm not a bad player either.
  22. What is the point of them. 20 people on Taris today, more than the weekend. I've had the two Heroic missions since then and despite trying, no one has wanted to join a group and do the missions. There are people around my rank, they must be getting the same missions so why? And yes I write the appropriate LFG request in the discussion bit. Seriously, with populations so low on some servers, might it be better to devise a system where you can solo Heroic Missions and downgrade the rewards - so the casual and completionist players can enjoy this aspect of the game. PLEASE.
