  1. This applies to any crafting skill, it takes a little work to make any of them turn over a serious profit. There is not a skill that does not make money. Cybertech just happens to be the flavor of the month right now as 27 mods and armorings are making those crafters outrageously rich. Just like Armormech and Synthweavers were before the MK- augment kits were released. It just takes a little work, and playing the GTN like a business. Credits are not going to just drop into your lap, even those very rich crafters did some work to get those credits. Every crafter still has to get those mats to make those things we all need. I made my first million, in the first few weeks of the games release on selling mats, and only mats, tons of mats, didnt craft anything until I made 50 on my 3rd alt. It is not easy cash for any profession. Even before the 26 and 27 mods I was making a killing off low level blue armorings and mods, an absolute killing. The profit margin on blues is much higher that the purples as the mats are much easier to get, and cheaper.. FFS, if you need mats/money go back to the lower planets and farm mats off the ground. I still go to Coruscant to "The Works" to farm metals once a week, as I just cant get enough of them from missions, even with 10 toons with scavenging. You can pick up a stack in an hour as a 50 as you one shot droids all day long.
  2. I have been wondering the same thing, on my Rep toons, it was about 1 in 3or4 mission would return 3 augmentors, that rate has dropped to 1 in 5-10 lately. So I dropped some skills on my Sorc and Assassin to pick up Slicing because Andronikos has that +2 crit to slicing, and I have not seen one drop in 2-3 days that I got slicing up to 400, and yes affection is 10k on both of them. Anyone know if either "Mysterious Funds" or "Devoted to Duty" missions have a better drop rate then the other.. I know that "Whispers on ..." on the Rep side has a better rate for me. I have yet to see any Augmentors on the Imp side, without using a 340 Slicing mission.
  3. This is exactly what we are talking about.. the typical Mara/Sentinel mentality.. "I do more damage than n00bs, I kill 'em good. I dont need no stinking tank, I will tank this myself!" Exactly the type that I let die and laugh when they cry about the bad healers.
  4. Of course they will change things, but dropping the price of a luxury item from 4 mill to 5 bucks is a slap in the face to those who worked for them.. it would be the same as if they came out next month with the ability to buy unlocks into endgame gear(26-28), like the artifact gear unlocks, then put up dreadguard and warhero gear up for sale for CC. People worked for that gear, then later the Devs come along and say "here, you can now buy these for 5 bucks". It makes as much sense as putting defense rating on smuggler gear.. must be a QQ thing, right?
  5. Agreed, I want my credits back for the rocket boots I bought months ago.. an actual refund on the purchase price. I will give Bioware the 5 and a half bucks it will cost to buy the cartel coins to buy them back. Bioware would have a fit if I was to sell 4 million credits for real cash so someone could buy rocket boots.. but has no problem selling rocket boots for 5 bucks.. really? 5 freakin dollars! 540CC for all 3 stages ... In their world, one of these "fancy new set of armor" is worth close to 9 mill in credits .. hmmm , makes perfect sense! [facepalm] At least they could have made the new pricing a little painful to the P2W crowd.. I could see 1200CC for each stage, maybe.. Make them work for them like the rest of us, but 540cc for all 3? .. the insane mentality of the people in Austin is really going to kill this game. Oh, that is right, as I keep seeing in Gen chat, "this game is dead". At the same time, I was able to buy an extra storage bay for 1050CC (account wide) or 2 mil each.. seriously what are these guys thinking? It makes absolutely NO sense at all. NOT that I am complaining about the storage bays, they are best item in the whole list of cra.... stuff they put out yesterday, IMO.
  6. Yes, the Slave Girl gear is a social gear set, must have Social 2 to get it... Get it on Nar Shaddaa , at the Lower Prom, Slippery Slopes Cantina.
  7. Yep, as soon as Bioware saw that this bug was affecting their bottom line it was fixed within hours... when it was just affecting the poor Biochem skilled players it was put on that list of "things we should look into".
  8. This is not a bug, it is working as intended. They want you to run all the Flashpoints at once. [/sarcasm] Customer Service has told many of us that the Group Finder tool is not to be used for full groups, that you are supposed to join it and run these instances with random people. This is their response to any problem that is discovered while running FPs or Ops when joining with a full group. Of course many of us run them with full groups on a daily basis, but if someone gets dropped from server.. or if any little thing happens for that matter.. there is a good chance that someone in the group will not get their rewards. Then the response from CS is a dice roll, as some people in the group will get those rewards forwarded to them, while other in that same group will be told " it is working as intended." from another agent. I am starting to wonder if the Customer Support system has any interaction with the Dev team at all. When tickets were created months ago about not being able to add alts( or people off line) to friends list, they say it is working as intended.. When someone asks a member of the Dev team in person at a conference, they had no idea it was happening, and it was fixed within weeks. Same with these incredible lag spikes that are still randomly hitting the entire server at once.. "It is a client side issue, not the servers" .. uh huh.
  9. Wait, so you can ride through BT? That is BS! It used to be possible through Esseless, but we assumed they took it out since so many players run it for the social points.. to make it less desirable for people to farm it for social points. Now that HM FP are part of the daily grind, I HATE Esseless, it takes for ever. I know that they finally nerfed the final boss, after hundreds of CS tickets being put in about his insane one hit lighting that goes off too fast, but that is for another conversation. I guess I will start putting in tickets about me wanting my speeder back. Then again, not like this game is truly balanced in any other way, why start with the lowest FP.
  10. You make valid points of each fight, but I think you are missing the point. The increased amount of damage you get from adding a full time power relic out weighs the gain in a burst. Trust me, I was in your camp until I was shown otherwise by people who spend way too much time crunching numbers. Even these crappy champion power relics outweigh the Campaign relics that proc or the give burst bonus. I wish it was not true, but it is.
  11. I know you are not trolling, but it sure looks like it.. I would hope you dont really think that those equip relics help you as much as a relic that would give you constant +97 power, or +57crit and surge, and that is just for the Champion relics that anyone can buy for 11K credits. Compared to some relic that does an addition 180ish damage IF it procs.
  12. Yes there is a post dedicated to the Q&A, but his points about the usage of the relics in each instance is right on target.. A separate discussion about the relics is needed. And Yes, I posted a quite lengthy post in that thread about the subject, but it will get lost amongst the countless "color crystal" posts. As for the OP, I completely agree.. the only boss fight that I do use PvE relics is for Soa, as the third stage is the only time there is that "DPS race".. and yeah, it is nice to use it on mind traps in the second phase. But otherwise, I only use my PvE relics on trash pulls.. then the PvP relics come out for boss fights, which is completely absurd. It makes no sense to me, nor anyone who actually does the numbers before making decisions on what gear to use.
  13. I still agree with all the QQing over the change to the relics, it makes absolutely no sense. 90% of our guild has moved to using PvP relics while raiding, except for the tank relics, they are still better. Even though I dont PvP. so I cant get a higher grade one, I am using Champion relics on 3 out of 4 of my 50's. . (The 4th is a tank) it cost me a whole 11k to buy each of these Champion relics. They must be kidding, even though they buffed the matrix cubes, they were made nonviable in raiding by they shift in the PvP relics, again, makes absolutely no sense. I ran enough dailies on my trooper to buy 3 Campaign relics, for different situations ( I know, over kill).. Only to have them made obsolete by something that I can go drop 11k credits on. Someone forgot the coffee they day they discussed this change. 2 months ago, we would preach to all the new 50s to go run dailies to buy their Rakata Ears/Implants and a Campaign relic.. and of course go on their Easter egg hunt for the shards they need to build their specific Matrix relic.. now we just tell them to go to the PvP vendor and buy those, if they dont already have them, which most do since most people do some PvP while leveling. I personally am not giving up totally on the PvE relics, I switch them out between boss and trash pulls. Some day, someone in Austin will realize that most players are using PvP relics during raids, and change them back to being viable. I like the suggested idea that PvP relics would have more expertise than other stats, maybe that would sway me, maybe. Maybe they will bring those PvE relics back up to the a viable numbers they were before... I seriously dont get what they were thinking when they made these changes. I get that players were using their Campaign relics in WZs to increase their burst damage, and destroying people for that 20 seconds, but you cant to do it for another 2 minutes, ok, 100 seconds for CD after the effect wears off. Bioware has made them to the point that we would rather have a bonus +97 power (+103 for BM or +113 for WH), or the crit/surge bonus of +57 of each, over the clickable bonus that we can get for 30 seconds of burst. Do the numbers, +315 power for 30 seconds every 2 minutes / +97 continuous power (+103 for BM or +113 for WH)... Even a 5th grader could figure that one out. Who cares about a little bonus endurance when you are raiding, that is why we have healers. Plus, like said above in another post, it is just one less thing we have to worry about during the already hectic boss fights. I do think that post was wrong in saying that the player has to remain rooted to use the relics bonus for the duration, but it does seem like the boss knows exactly when you use your relic, as it is a perfect time for you to be targeted by something that will make you run.
  14. Congrats on your new computer, but that sir(or mam) is not the issue. It is not the video lag like experienced on Ilum back in the day, but server lag spikes experienced by the entire group at the same exact moment. Of course most people wont really notice it when standing on the fleet, or wont say anything in a FP group. But when a raid group of 8 is in Vent/TS and they all see their cast bars all start stuttering for that moment, when no one can get out of the flames (or whatever elemental damage), when I see my trooper throw 2 grenades, when Full-Auto goes for WAY to long, or the tank does not see the boss move away from him for a couple seconds, that sir is server lag. I have had people not even in the raid group, not even in the instance, in their own WZ/ planet quest, comment on lag spikes that happen at the same moment that it hits the raid group. I have seen people comment in these forums that Bioware needs to create more instances of those operations, but how can 24 people in Denova be too much for the server to handle? If that is true than BW really needs to look at their server software and/or hardware. I can understand the lag issues when there was 100 people all in the same instance on Ilum and half of them are casting lightning(or whatever), but not when 8 people are in a raid. I also get that it may be the one person in the raid group that has a slow internet connection that may be causing the group to lag to get in correct timing with that "slow member", which is what happens in the MP FPS gaming community. But, usually that person's toon is "warping" around, not causing the rest of the player so actually do back steps or reload twice( or what ever), it does not cause everyone in the instance to personally lag at the same time. This is something completely different. BW admitted that they are aware of the problem, they even patched the servers recently to address the problem, that is still happening as of last night. What is most upsetting is that when players had submitted CS tickets just a few weeks ago, CS replied quickly with the old copy/paste that it is a client side problem, not a server issue, that the servers are working as intended. I have a pretty decent rig, a quad core 3.4, very nice RAM, a pretty decent GPU that will run the game at all high settings as default, which is what I run while questing. Yet I choose to lower my setting during raids to improve my own FPS performance. Like do I really need shadows complexity or quality set to high during those times? No. Yet I see lag when opening companion (vendor) windows, sending, or receiving items in the mail.. There is a whole slew of things that "lag" in this game, that should not, or did not before 1.2, or before the transfers to these bloated servers... (even players with the most high end of computers are seeing this server lag that we are referring too).. IMHO this is the real issue and cause of the lag that so many people are having.. BW dumping over 9000 players onto one server. I am not calling you out for being "that guy", it may very well be the issue. There may be too many people who are playing on a lowend laptop, at the corner coffee shop, while they have facebook open, while they have last.fm running, DLing **** while raiding. I doubt it, but if computer specs is the issue, maybe BW should have investigated their low end requirements before releasing this beast into the public. Again, I believe it is these bloated servers that are the cause of this server lag we are experiencing.
  15. I seriously doubt it is just a restart. A server patch is probably being applied right now.. after the patch install, then you have to wait for them to test a few servers stability before they will let them be "live" for players to join.
  16. Agreed . . . What is most upsetting is that when someone submitted a well written CS ticket explaining that the entire raid was experiencing these lag spikes at the same exact moment, CS immediately replied that there is nothing wrong with the game servers, that it is client side. Really? How can it be client side when everyone sees it at the same time? Lets just amuse that it could be that Bioware decided to put 10k players on each of these "super servers", instead of creating a larger amount of well populated servers. Yes it is true that during these spikes, random players would be disconnected from server. But it cant be the ISP, nor that players single machine. When in fact those players with great connections are dropped just as randomly as those who are playing on a laptop through their cell phone 0.o
  17. I would like to point out that any Armstech with any sense would be churning out crit , power and surge augments and selling them for a pretty price on the GTN. They should be in high demand, as I know the 2 armstechs in our guild cant keep up with the demand, especially with power and surge augs. Then again, I keep seeing people on fleet who are completely augmented with their main stat.. Saw a sage with 2400 Willpower, and a gunslinger in PvP gear with almost 2300 Cunning.. omg
  18. You are right, they have not said anything yet. But, people who get "copied" to the PTS are able to access all the stuff they have in their cargo at the time of the copy. And, considering that when 1.2 was release everything I had on auction was suddenly dropped back in the mail.(Basically the GTN was reset) And, those auctions are time sensitive and server based. If you were to move without taking those items off the market, I would assume that they would be lost to the GTN forever, sold or not. Of course those are assumptions, and we all know what happens when we assume.
  19. Oh, the stuff in our cargo bays better go with us, or the raging will be epic. As said above, make sure you dont have anything on the GTN or in the mail that you want to keep. I personally kept tons of stuff in the mail, to avoid buying the 3rd bay on all my toons, 10 credits for 30 days of storage for 8 stacks is not a bad price. But I recently bought 3 of the 3rd bays just to pack up all my stuff. So I spent 1.2 million on bays to fill with stuff that better be moved with my family.
  20. As someone who has capped the legacy level for now, I do not see any reduction in price for any of the "legacy perks", which is crazy to me. I do have the money to buy them, but dont see any real advantage to them, so I wont spend the credits for them, which means they are just a waste of effort by the dev team. Maybe in the future I will spend the credits for the upcoming perks, like the field repair droid. As of now, the legacy system is somewhat worthless to me, along with most of the player population.
  21. Well, I can agree that the legacy perks right now are pretty bad, in design, and in price. I was very disappointed when they were introduced. I was expecting much more, for much less in cost. As someone who you could call a "rich player", I still have not, and will never pay for any of those "perks". I may have millions of credits, but I am not willing to throw them out for such garbage.. Like a speeder for 1.5 million, funny stuff. I have those millions because I know how to use the market, abuse it, craft things that people need, and craft items people want on a exclusive basis. Not just because I have 50 items, on 8 toons, up on the market at all times, not even close. Ok, going off track here. The only perk really worth buying right now is the repair droid for the "skills sensor" for the protocol droid, and even then it is not something that is useful on a daily basis. Why would I want to repair on my ship? I can do that at any space port before getting on or after getting off the ship. And there is an easy work around to getting those sensors, just pitch in with a couple rich people, get one person to buy it in the guild(like the guild leader), and everyone can buy the sensors they need off the droid while in group. I see a nerf coming in that regard. I do see value in the upcoming unlocks, specifically the "Field Repair Droid", I will be all over that one... along with the "Legacy of Crafting", for better crit chance... A field respec droid, that could be handy in ops. A field mail box? I doubt it. IMO, many of those perks should have been exclusive to those, like myself, who are in the very upper tiers of legacy. Not to be conceited or anything, but why should I pay the same amount for legacy things as someone with a legacy of 20. There is no point have a legacy over 20 at this point, and yeah, get that I may be in the 1% of players with a legacy higher than 45. Maybe that should be the point, higher legacy should have given more perks. Shouldn't it be a goal to get to a higher legacy level to open that next level of "rocket boots", or less time on the fleet pas and quick travel.. nope just a money sink.
  22. What? How are you using an augmented relic without 400 Artifice? I didnt think it was possible. IRT... I know the odds are VERY low to crit one, but it is possible post 1.2 .. A friends made more than 30 before critting one, only to find that we think he is using the wrong one.. He started again with the type he should be using and got it on the 4th try. HINT: instead of buying the alloys, farm HM FP, they drop very often from the final bosses.
  23. Wait, where did you see this? I have not seen any info on transfers coming before 1.3 .. IMO, if they would just do this NOW, it would save a lot of other problems.. The whole CS-LFG wouldn't matter, it could be put on the back burner if everyone was on a server where they didnt have to wait for 30 minutes to an hour, or never, for a PvP pop to happen. CS-LFG wouldn't even matter if there were only a hand full of servers in each time zone. If they would just fix the server population, or lack of population problem NOW, half the QQing players would be happy, well less QQy.
  24. Sorry, but I dont see how it cannot be on a first come first served basis. They would have no idea who will be transferring what name to said server. You would pissed if you moved your characters, then because I moved mine and I have a higher legacy level, or more play time, and I was able to pick the names I want regardless if those names were already in use... then you log in 2 or more days later(after the move) and get a message saying that those names are taken by a new player and you have to pick new names. Oh, I can hear the screaming already.
  25. That would not work in the case of mail, GTN, raids, planetary questing, in game chat, reporting problem players.. I cant think of a single reason for letting people use a name that is not unique.. It is pretty much a must have. Like you said, you can hide your legacy name, making that Luke(#9) who is your guild mate and friend.. look just like Luke(#3) who is a face pulling douche bag in instances and everyone knows to avoid. Dont get me wrong, I am a bit worried about renaming all my toons when the transfers happen, but I am sure I can figure something out.. Think of it this way, you may be the first Jayson on the server, be able to pick the names you need/want.. and maybe I can get that one name that I tried to get but a guild mate had already taken it on an alt.
