  1. I loved pazaak from the original kotors and am sad they weren't included into this one. MMOs are so much more fun with some mini games so I'm all for this!
  2. I would LOVE to see this in game. The companionized version of your character doesn't really have to be any stronger than any of your other companions either. They could have their own gear and have different move sets based on their specs.
  3. This....is why I did not roll a Miraluka. Before the game out I knew what I wanted to play: a Miraluka. When I got to the character creation screen I was VERY disappointed by both the available hairstyles and masks. The selection is really very small but it would probably be more helpful to follow this suggestion. Giving switchable helms for miralukas would help for when current masks don't match the rest of our armor, as well as giving everyone more selection.
  4. A couple of people in this thread have mentioned other people "saying" that the consular story is "the worst" but I have never actually heard anyone say that they disliked the consular story. I know they exist but it's hard for me to believe that the consular story is "bad" when no one makes it a point to say it.
  5. I'm a Scoundrel myself and I'm disappointed by the upcoming changes. I came from WoW so I'm used to nerfs. But one of the things that Blizzard found that really works is to not give huge nerfs/buffs out in a single patch, lest a class becomes over or under powered. That's a pretty big nerf. You can talk about metrics all you want but it won't matter a dime until players actually get to see it themselves out in real pvp. If BW could establish perfect 'metrics' then they would have no need for class adjustments.
  6. This would make RP soooo much easier. As it is, many RPers have a difficult time attending events or RP hot spots because of how fast the chat moves. Chat bubbles help alleviate that so you can see if the person you are actually talking to has posted
  7. Right now /say works cross faction. Would love to see /yell or at least /em cross faction too for better RP. The rest of these options that the OP listed would make RPers' lives here on TOR much better. Hoping to see some changes made for RPers along with all the inevitable pve and pvp changes.
  8. Biochem is for my main. I'm looking for either Artifice or Synthweaving for my Jedi alt.
  9. I've decided I will pick up biochem. But is artifice a good crew skill? Is it better than synthweaving?
  10. I just made a jedi alt and am looking at Artifice for her crew skill. But I'll be honest, the only reason I want it is so I can potentially craft rare color crystals that would be otherwise hard to get. Looking through these threads, it seems like you can only craft the mundane crystals. The crew skill doesn't interest me aside from the fact that you can make crystals, to be honest. If you can't make any rare or interesting crystals through artifice, do the crystals you make at least sell well on the GTN? I am extremely indecisive about what crew skills to use. So I have problems on my healer main as well. How exactly does biochem benefit me? I don't need the medpacs so much as another non healer class would.
  11. Also want to point out that humans are the most populated race in the galaxy. I believe somewhere in the game or the codex it says that non-humans are the minorities and the humans are the majority.
  12. No, it's only hilarious because people get worked up over it. Unsurprising considering how bad a taste the prequels/edited originals leave in people's mouths. You don't need to be a 'master of cinema' to know a movie is bad. Do you need to be a chef to know that your chicken hasn't been cooked right too? If the ultimate goal of a movie is for people to enjoy it, and by large, they don't, then what's that say about the movie?
  13. We have the various different time zones of America which won't help you. An EU server would give you hours of 11 am to 4 pm. Might I suggest an Australian RP server? At 1 am pst...it's equivalent to 7 pm for them. Beregen Colony is supposed to be the Oceanic super server, no idea how good it is.
  14. We'll get /roll when we get chat bubbles. Although, perhaps there is some faith in getting /roll because maybe even the non-RPers can benefit from the command.
  15. Actually, they most likely are working on it. Roleplayers don't get anything usually because they don't complain obnoxiously enough, as noted in another thread. It's really unrealistic to assume that it would have been implemented by now. Hardly anything of note has been added to the game besides bug fixes. We aren't actually going to get major fixes or additions until a while. These kinds of big things, yes chat bubbles are probably not a cinch to program like most people think they are, take a long time to add into the game. And with BW being assaulted on all sides by things people desperately want put into the game, you just can't expect them to have added it already. At the earliest, I'm thinking a couple of months from now. But keep on spamming about chat bubbles, and I'm being serious. RPers will get things if we actually make a fuss of things, just like the PVE-ers and the PVPers.
  16. That's a moot point. You don't have to live with your choices in any video game with a save feature. Turn the game off. Then reload a different save. If this were a solo game, you could easily make a different choice if you wanted to. But since this is an mmo, and the game is saved on BW's servers, it automatically saves everything.
  17. Shouldn't none of the above have happened yet since the game is taking place in 3000 BTC mark? Which would mean: 1. The Rattataki still live below the surface in the world in caves. 2. Rattatak has yet to be disovered by the rest of the galaxy. ????
  18. Yes please. I like to be able to see my character's faces. And cutscenes don't always hide their helmets either. I've had Corso running around in gear that matches in every way EXCEPT his helmet and it's driving me insane.
  19. To me, what I like about the smuggler story is not really what goes on but the character to it. Playing a smuggler you're treated to entertaining and often funny dialogue with good voice actors for the main character. I like the feeling of working for myself as well and being in it for me instead of a military or order. The characters are pretty good with Corso and Risha being three dimensional love interests. Bowdaar seems simple and the others I have yet to get. (Minor Spoilers) I wasn't ever really impressed with the actual story though. It's very railroady in Act 1 and reminds me of a Zelda game where you have to assemble 5 gemstones of power to get to the next part of the game, except in this case it's ship parts. It's not bad and it's not great. Some of it is predictable or if not, the twists are a little underwhelming. But it's really the character and nature of the smuggler story that makes it appeal to me. Signed, A Level 35 Smuggler Main
  20. If you're an RPer you should expect to have to coordinate your RP and cooperate with other RPers. OOC talk can be very effective in making RP an enjoyable experience for everyone. That means... Instead of getting into a conflict and not saying anything OOCly, don't be shy to talk to the RPer personally, and work out something that you both might enjoy. This method is done often for RP that isn't even combat related. But yeah, like already said, it's difference between liking real time action RPGs and turn based RPGs. Take your pick and make sure the person you're fighting is comfortable with it.
  21. I'd worry about it. They are going to include more romances in the future. But if you get married how are you supposed to go after the new ones if you like them better? You may not want to start over the character you spent so much time into.
  22. These were my thoughts too, actually. But without actually getting to know these big Republic leaders, seeing as how my smuggler isn't really concerned with any real authorities outside of flashpoint missions, I decided to give the benefit of the doubt.
  23. Yes, I know that, and was hoping to not have to bog down my post explaining that I know that. Those are good and true points. But as this topic is we are talking about the plausibility of female soldiers, not female leaders. A leader is more than being physically strong, even in the military. The discussion/argument is controlled into one single aspect of a leader instead of the whole of it. Maybe no one in the thread questions the validity of female leadership, just their strength. Or maybe people are just blind sided by the desire to prove they are 'more-righter' that other things ripe for discussion are forgotten.
  24. Sorry, I completely missed that through all the piles of heated posts that dot this thread. That is actually a rather interesting thing to bring up. This is going to be broken down in story mechanics. It's not necessarily what Bioware may have trying to accomplish, but they accomplished it on a sub-conscious level. What I mean is, that Bioware has mentioned they write their characters based on what will make a more interesting character that fits in the story. They don't go all status quo on you. They just add a character that feels right to them for what makes sense in the story. The Sith/Empire are pictured as 'aggressive' and 'dominating', which are more readily identifiable as 'masculine' traits. On the other hand, the Republic are portrayed more as the good guys with realistic hints of grey. They look noble and appear noble. These are traits that are more gender neutral but maybe Bioware felt that it would be more interesting for the leaders to be the way they are. My main character is a smuggler whose storyline so far hasn't dealt with anything other than herself and her own small corner of the galaxy so I'm not as familiar as these Jedi masters or generals or whoever the leaders are as say, maybe someone playing a Jedi Knight would be. So without really knowing anything about the characters outside of my storyline bubble, this is the best explanation I can give. Which I am happy to give because I'm doubtful someone else is going to step up to the plate to do that.
  25. How come in a thread about female leaders, we are discussing pinpoint statistics and what-if situations concerning the strength of women versus the strength of men when we could be discussing such things as a male leader versus a female leader and the differences in how they display power? How about discussing attributes that are actually crucial to being in a commanding position and not just traits for a common grunt? But it is easier to be like sheep and nitpick about the qualities of strength because everyone else is whilst accomplishing no real goal within this thread. I don't care enough to push it in that direction myself, but it's a suggestion and an alternative to bickering that no one cares about other than to prove who is more 'right'-er.
