  1. where do you get these? Is it slicing and drop only? do any vendors sell them? Can they be crafted. I did a search and the only info I can find on them is telling me what they are used for, which I know, now I need to know how to find one. P.S. the only ones on the GTN on my server are too high, I need to find a lower level one./ thank you in advance
  2. I also want to add, certain "blue" mats are far too rare. It seems you get a hefty imbalance of junk mats and hardly any of the ones you need
  3. In my opinion, not only is the crafting system broken and under attended to, its imbalanced. What I am seeing is all the pre-slicers who can no longer make that big bank, now farming mats. In a system where the mats sell for thousands of credits and the items that those mats make are mediocre to worthless, something is wrong. On my server I try to go out and gain materials for crafting and find myself competing with massive amounts of ppl (rudely, as I had one person literally scavenge the droid I killed while I was in mid fight) "Farming" the mats so they can sell them for, again, thousands of credits. What I am seeing is a massive imbalance of credits where you have a percent of people running around with far too many credits in what I see as an exploit. I am all for gathering as a profession, I came from LOTR where it was a legit thing to undertake. But the way SWTOR has it now, with the rares, the lack of nodes, and the excessive time and cost for mats, its causing MASSIVE inflation to the pricing of mats. Yes you should be able to make money "Gathering" (a big difference from "Farming"). But no, you should not be able to make mountains of money in a short amount of time, that I see as an exploit. I think it evident when you see people literally fighting over nodes and droids. Please Dev. Look into this. Please balance it. P.S. I am not saying anyone or everyone has to agree with me, as I am sure the farmer are going to flame on. But can we keep it constructive and mind manners.
  4. Ah, thank you...Sorta a bummer, but ok.
  5. No one out there has any idea? Thoughts?
  6. LOL! ...uh-huh... Anyway.....so again, what is the difference? Only serious answers need apply. Technically, I have used both to regen, and one does not seem to work better than the other.
  7. So their racial bonus is "Focusing Ritual". What is the difference between this focus ritual and meditation in general?
  8. I am considering taking up this craft. My question is coloration and mod. With armor, does it go as others? green->blue->purple? is there orange? is any of the armor that is craftable mod-able? thanks ahead of time.

    Imbalance

Why is it that the crafting materials sell so well and for so much money and the items that they make are worthless?
  10. I would like to suggest that you can "Mark" something as "Trash" in your inventory, so that when you send your companion out to sell "Trash" items, he will sell things other than simply trash items that you have, but also things you consider trash. This in my opinion would save a lot of long runs back to a vendor.
  11. Good one! I forgot about that one. I agree, why do only the Biochems get reusables. Although, I can sorta see the reasoning. If everyone got reusables, then whats the purpose of even making consumables? Of course, I haven't tried armor smith as I cant see the point in upgrading my armor when all I have to do is mod it. Strange thinking on the Dev side.
  12. I am curious as to the pulse of the players on crafting. Q: Are you happy with the time it takes to run a mission? Q: If you could change it, how, shorter/longer/none at all? Q: Are you satisfied with the cost of missions? Q: If you could change it, how, less/more/none at all? Q: Are you satisfied with what missions produce, materials and amount? Q: If you could change it, how, less/more?
  13. The sad part is the imbalance in this, I personally see this as an exploit of a sorts. The fact that the materials sell for so much, that once put into the actual product you take a huge loss. Not to mention most of the items are worthless given commendations and mod-able armor. In my opinion the crafting system is severely broken, and in the interest of being constructive, this is my take on how to improve it: (a few notes) * Dramatically increase the nodes and their re spawn time, make resources farm-able, missions are a time consuming, expensive pain in the behind. I dont mind running them for rares, but for the love of all, please make mission running queueable, as with crafting, one mission can run20+ mins, I want to be able to assign multiple missions, log off for the night and come back with the materials I need. * make nodes selectable and harvest-able via hot-key * cut the craft and mission times dramatically That's just off the top of my head. Disclaimer: this is my take, my opinion, obviously ppl are going to agree or disagree, but lets keep it constructive and maintain proper respect, I am seeing way too many people be generally rude to each-other and I just dont think its called for, not to mention its the fastest way to get BIOware to ignore the posting.
  14. I leveled a trooper to 10 and chose Commando. What I am looking for is High Ranged AOEs. Which is best for this, Gunnery or Assault?
  15. I am now at 320 and started running missions at 1200cr a pop. Thing is, they fail a lot! Is it just that they are a high level mission? Does affection have anything to do with it? (My companion affection is 2k) What is going on with the amount of times level 5 missions fail? (I should also add my companion has a +15%)
  16. Exactly. You dont craft and you wear lesser gear. Craft at 50? Whats the point? Why would I craft at level 50 to make gear that I cannot use? From lev 10 all the way to 50 I should be able to craft the gear appropriate to my level. Not everyone cares for PvP, I vaguely looked at that gear and it seems to be level 20, 40 and 50. and at level 30 with the gear I have on now those vendors dont sell anything better or even equal to what I have on my char now. I would like to have all mod-able armor and each mod be purple...now I said I would like that, but usually end up with a couple purp pieces and remaining blues as thats all that seems possible given the money given. I run missions, daily's, farm mobs, I even sell on the GTN, I am doing everything I can think of, and still dead broke with expenses. there has already been a ton said/posted about the cost/bottomless pit that is crafting. Running missions that cost 1500 credit to come back with 2 crystals and the schematic calls for 4, same goes with the other components. Then there's the rares on blues and purps which takes multiple missions to get the right component. I spent once 15k to make one piece trying to get an Immaculate Yellow Crystal. So bluntly put, dont accuse me of exaggerating when you are not even in the same league. If I wanted to settle for less I would play a F2P
  17. blue mods cost 1k? what server are you on? Maybe at level 15!
  18. Why would I exaggerate? what could I have to possibly gain, if I could cut and paste what I just lost in training and swapping just now I would. Yes the mods were purple, but does that justify having to spend 3500 on ea mod, then another 3500 to swap them both out. after all that I had 28K left, ran to the trainer. I had a total of 4 skills I had to train. didn't look at the price I was just clicking. I trained 3, was left with 5k and my last skill cost 8k. If your in the green, good for you, whats your secret. also, you must not craft!
  19. maybe I am just overly frustrated right now with a lot of things and expectations I had for this game, it keeps building and building and I am getting closer and closer to just out right cancelling. I am so disappointed in your guys over at BIOware, between Mass Effect and Dragon Age you make great games, but getting into the MMO world, you all screwed that up on an epic scale
  20. Credits!!!! put simply, the cost of everything balanced with the reward of where you earn credits is way off. at lev 30 it cost 4k to swap a mod out of your armor/weapons? I just trained my skills and it cost me 35k? My character is bleeding money and I cant make it back quick enough! What is going on with the cost of everything. Being dead broke I was left with no choice but to head out to the fields and farm MOBs for an hour, just to see if maybe the yield would help. After one hour of killing MOBs non stop I earned a whooping 2k????? Then there is crafting, I have literally dumped insane amounts of credits on that with no return. Throw us a bone here, things are far, far, far too expensive compared to the amount of money we earn. I run these missions and they pay 800 credits? What is going on with the balance. You dont want us farming but please explain to me how I am suppose to make enough money to properly equip my char with current mods, armor, weapons, training, among all the other cost you have built into this game. Pardon me if I am feeling overly frustrated when at level 30 I cant keep more than 2 thousand credits to my name and armor/weapons off of the vendors cost 14-25K Point Blank...Everything is way too expensive, balance it out with pay!!!!
  21. but do you delete them do you still get the money? I have never tested that, I am afraid to loose the money
  22. I dont understand why, when you make a sale, you get an email saying you will get the money in an hour. Why? Why not just give it when the sale is made, this makes no sense to me. So if I delete that email before the funds come in does that mean I wont get the money?
  23. Oh, one more thing...LOL... PLEASE! Its a small but very helpful request... !*!*!* When "Right Clicking" to place a component into the Cargo Hold, can it automatically stack with whats already in there? Crafting leads to a great number of components in the bank, and transferring them into cargo could be made so simply....more simple Thank you!
  24. One more thing, the purpose of me posting isn't to "Rant" and complain per say. I admit maybe my frustration comes through a bit. But more so is to let Bioware know whats wrong, to give the opportunity to fix it. As again, I love the game, I understand it is still new and is going through growing pains. But if your not going to include what ppl are complaining about, at least give a "shout out" in your notes that you hear us and are working on it. Please dont forget your players who pay the bills. Its what WE want for the game that should matter, not what you want for your creation.
  25. I think that most who "disagree" are not crafting. I can forgo the idea of "Profit" to an extent. But understand that the idea of profit isn't necessarily so i can buy an island on Tatooine, its simply so I can continue crafting. Those who dont think nodes are not broken, again, are not harvesting. I spent 3 hours trying to harvest the other night to great frustration. I dont mind, and like the idea that the companions do the 'work', but the risk/reward..effort/output factor is way out of whack (far too many components are obscenely rare) . I dont understand why it has to be such a huge time/money sink, explain this to me. For it to be such, the end game would have to be worth it, and as a previous poster pointed out, the gear you get from drops/missions/PvP puts crafting to shame. So why? Just as with any MMO, the crafters are a part of the 'society', we deserve recognition too. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, love what they did. Although I am disappointed how they did too much modeling against Mass Effect and Dragon Age, I would have liked to see more originality. BUT, there is no doubt that crafting, as it is now, is horrible and needs a lot of work. I hate to bring it up...buuuut, why would anyone try and re-invent the wheel. There are a few MMOs out there that have done crafting right (I personally advocate the Lord of the Rings Online system), the old saying is true for a reason, if it aint broke, dont fix it! Take what already works and maybe add to it, make it more interesting, but to re-invent is foolish in my opinion.
