  1. I would but your website isn't working. Just for info though.. Level 26 Imp Operative (healer spec) being played in pvp only (Although I suppose I should level up ) looking for a pvp orientated (or at least quite pvp active) guild. I can be reached in game on "Guilthru"
  2. Personally, I just run around for the entire duration like some sort of headless Rodian (They remind me of chickens somehow)
  3. I'm a subscriber too but this is fantastic news indeed. Maybe now they'll also reconsider some of the other, quite frankly useless restrictions as well like not having the ability to display a title or not being able to hide your head slot because we all know how essential those are to playing an mmo and they're sure to make them lots of cash *rolls eyes*
  4. Flaw with that is.. did they have bubblegum in the starwars universe, to be able to name that person after it? I'd say no...
  5. No, my argument isn't invalid. That's a planet, not a person. You don't RP with a planet or see planets running around the fleet with very childish and stupid names such has "Legolazz" and "ChukkN'orriz". I'm talking about player names, not planets. I'm sure if we were allowed to create a planet, then they would have their names policed very closely. I don't see how they can't do this with player names.
  6. I don't mind if someone comes up with a totally unique name, just as long is it's not something which consists of... 1. Any 1337 words. 2. No real life people, and by that I mean celebs or wannabe celebs. 3. No copyrighted items, such as Volvo.., which I saw the other day and reported. 4. No references to popular culture, such as the toon I saw on my server called Khazad'dum. It doesn't matter where you put the ' in your name.. i still know it's a location in middle earth. 5. Is not offensive in anyway shape or form. 6. No meta gaming names If you think that limiting name creation to exclude these factors would limit the possible number of names available to take then you're the one with no imagination. There is simply limitless amounts of names out there to create. It's not exactly hard to put a bit of thought into your character. People who roll on RP servers should respect unwritten rules of lore, which there are plenty of. If you're not going to treat the server and it's players with respect for the lore then please don't roll on the same server as me. Why not go join your other friends with their "Darth OMGpwnU" characters on the pvp servers. KKthxBYE!!! But seriously.. It's not hard t create a name which doesn't violate above. That's the basis which I judge character names and report others. Harsh? ... Maybe Elitist? ... Can be seen that way... Asking too much for a rp server? ... No, asking just enough in my opinion.
  7. I understand that there is a naming policy but it's currently not being enforced. after reporting almost 100 names, I still see 85+% of them with the same name. The others, I've probably not seen. The point of this thread is to make bioware see that their enforcement of the policy is too lax and that we, the players, are not happy with how they are dealing with the policy.
  8. I remember as a small boy, watching Starwars for the very first time and being amazed. The story, the action and most of all.. the flying through space. As a young lad, these had a huge effect on me and thus began my love for all things Starwars. When I heard of a starwars mmo, I began to salivate so much that the girlfriend had to tape a bucket to my chin, but in all seriousness, I looked forward to playing the game. I've played many mmo's in my time. Each one in a different way. With my love for the lore, I decided to play on a RP server for the added immersion in the world and hopefully some nice RP. The RP isn't a problem but what greatly frustrates me is the lack of a naming policy on RP servers. It just doesn't help with immersion when you see people running around called "AWookieAteMyHamster" (non real example.. but you get my point). I think that people who choose to play on a RP server should hold themselves up to a higher standard when choosing a character name, so that it doesn't spoil the immersion of the game. generally speaking, RP server have a much greater maturity level than other ones due to the fact that almost all people use the tags as an indication to go there for better role playing. It helps to create a much better community and atmosphere within the people playing there and often leads to overall, a better playing experience. I just think that on RP servers, there should be an enforced naming policy to help create and maintain a more lore friendly experience for the people who chose to go and play on a RP server. I would also like to add that this can only work if the community are mature about it and if Bioware take it seriously and really enforce the policy, taking action against lore breaking/copyrighted/offensive names.
  9. Not trolling. Just because they don't agree with your opinion on the best tree to use, doesn't make them a troll. I prefer deception. It's a much more fun way to play pvp.
  10. I played Deception from start to finish and didn't struggle at all but getting on to the main point of companions. I don't personally think that one companion is better than the other, just that it depends on your play style. If you're an aggressive player who pulls lots and uses minimal cc on enemies then having a healer is probably better, so long as you can keep all the aggro. If you're a more careful player who pulls as little as possible, then healing is not required so much and using a dps companion would suit you better. personally... I use Khem all the time, he keeps aggro while I destroy everything. if I need healing then that's what pots and heroic ability is for but generally I'm fine without using either. Just for the record, I have all companions to 10k except Xalek, who's at 9k just now. Presence helps with your companions, not affection.
  11. See, I don't think people get the point in the DPS assassin at all. if they consider deception as useless. You're not a sustained dps character, but a spike damager who gets in, does the damage and gets out, or dies trying. It's the price we pay for having huge spike damage and for me, personally.. a much more entertaining way to play then building to survive and taking 10 years to kill anything. I'd rather play with Deception and die a million times, than any other build and be bored to death.
  12. Deception does way more spike damage than any of the other two so if you can get yourself into a 1v1 situation where you have the element of surprise, you can come out on top almost all the time. 5k - 6k crits are very common if geared correctly with deception build, destroying most targets very fast.
  13. I don't think there's anything wrong with having micro-transitions available in a game, as long as a line is drawn. Cosmetics and fluff are fine but it's when the game starts putting stuff that you either require or gives you an edge in a store, that i feel steps way over that line. I also play lotro, which went f2p last year. The f2p model brought in so much revenue and a much larger player base that I, as a player, was relieved to see happen as the subscriber levels were dwindling to a point of empty servers but pretty soon afterwards they (Turbine) because too greedy and started removing items from the game which were important and adding them to the store as the only way of gaining them. They then started screwing over the player base by adding mounts in the store too, which people had already gained in game by spending weeks/months grinding to attain. Now there are exclusive store only mounts, which for a horse collector like me, is just out of order. The store was advertised as being "Convenience and not advantage", yet they started adding items which give a clear advantage over someone who doesn't use the store, for example morale potions which do not share the global cd of all other morale pots. Essentially you can heal yourself twice which people who do not use the store can only do it once. Even pvp got store based items which were a distinct advantage, even getting to the point where you could buy your Creeps skills on the store, instead of unlocking them at certain pvp ranks, giving newer players a distinct advantage of becoming very powerful at a early rank. I only hope that Bioware know where to draw the line and don't step over it, if they do indeed go to this model.
  14. Actually, MMO's are about epic stories which can be shared with friends and other people from all over the world. Gear is just an off-set to the requirements of end game content within the MMO.
  15. Oh I can't wait to hit level 50 and come WZ in my uber Green/Blue gear. get the highest objective score or healing score or hell, even protection score and print it out, roll it up all nice and stick it up you elitist noob's asses sideways with a little bit of lemon juice for lube. WZ is not about DPS, It's not about Kills... It's about teamwork and objective scores and the quicker they put objective based rewards (other than the really pitiful amount of medals already), the beter. Hell my level 12 (not my highest character) with no run buff or anything ends up with highest objective score in the game on most rounds because people are idiots and only want to g for kills. You want kills, go play in Illum.
