  1. Maras are the lowest performing damage class in solo. Please examine leaderboards for evidence, your opinion is anecdotal and incorrect. I could write a book on the how/why mara do not perform well in solo but it would be a waste of time. The TLDR: they have a single reset, which when un-talented (cloak removing debuffs) is unlikely to work. Couple this with the combat bug typically preventing them from healing, they are the easiest kill target in solo by far. Focus them, they blow cooldowns, they die the next time they show their face. No counterplay possible. Solo matches with a healer are not representative of class balance as player skill variance and comp differences will usually determine the winner before gates open. The bottom line is that non-tanks and classes without healing are the weakest performers in solo. Coupled with being melee and kiteable, mara suffer. Shadows are a marginal exception as they have a true, guaranteed reset. Mara remain in combat even with talented cloak, and will never get a recoup off against competent players. Mara are in a good place in group. They work well in all comps and require two cc rotations (e.g. trinket blown, re-engage upon) to kill. They do not have the best dcds, or damage (hello, snipers), but they have very high pressure uptime. Here are the real balance issues in the game right now: Sage/Sorc damage specs are too weak, causing players to feel forced to heal on the class, throwing healing balance off. Merc/commando dcds are heinously overtuned. Sniper/gunslinger damage and dcds slightly too strong. Jugg/guard damage too strong. Vanguard/PT defensives too weak compared to jugg/guard. Operative/Scoundrel roll desync literally makes the game unplayable. Shadow/assassin dcds slightly too weak.
  2. 225 means one wind crystal relic and one matrix cube. This isn't the main source of bolster exploit. There is another, well guarded secret where players are able to generate an additional 1,000-1,300 mastery and endurance. I do not know the specific cause, the players (6+) I've seen abusing it refuse to let the secret out. I've inspected them in and outside arena and they gain an average of over 1k mastery and endurance from w/e the bug is. For example, 10k mastery and 140k hp on a sorc. All other stats normal or in line with being normal. Not augmented for either mastery or endurance, but alacrity, in this example's case.
  3. What would you nerf? And why do you think Maras need nerfs before Sniper and Merc? And have you considered that the meta would be improved instead by buffs to sorc dps and sins and nerfs to sniper/merc defensives? Marauders may seem scary to someone playing the weakest class in the game right now, but they are comically shut down and **** on by sniper+merc comps, which are ludicrously overplayed.

Ravage did not get buffed, and does not tick for more than 2k. Stop making up numbers, I wish they would ban people like you.

None of you have even the slightest clue how this game works and it's pathetic that you're whining here instead of getting practice and learning/improving. Ravage/Master Strike do 6k damage maximum over 3 seconds. That's on a player with almost no gear.
  6. This is either a troll, or the specious textual ramblings of a total fool. 9k crit? Screenshot or it didn't happen. Or I'll just save you the trouble. It's impossible. With adrenal, relic, expertise power up, and bloodthirst, my full BM marauder (full BIS) tops out at 6200 - and that is on a player with zero expertise.
  7. Healers are still unkillable in any reasonable amount of time when they have a competent tank protecting them. Those 5k marauder crits? If the healer is guarded and the Marauder is taunted.... 5k turns into 1800. Just learn how the game works. Go do some research and learn how the specs that give you trouble function. Then you will know how to properly use your cooldowns to counter them. Nothing is overpowered alone. Some classes/specs only seem that way due to circumstance and your own failure to understand what just happened to you.
  8. A dead player can't dps. A player being focused can't dps. Marauders must force themselves directly into the heart of the enemy team in order to maximize their potential. If you stop tunneling the guarded healer and swap to the marauder he will be forced to use globals defensively or attempt to stealth and escape, or die. The class is not god mode. Although it is capable of absolutely mowing down enemies like blades of grass if left alone. Thus, don't leave one alone. It's not complicated. Swap between a marauder and his healer and they both become drastically less threatening in every way. This tip brought to you by the best Marauder and Shadow on Twin Spears. Marauders can be countered. Easily. Explore their spec and learn how it functions, and then counter it with proper cooldown management and cc timing.
  9. Bioware: you have ONE MONTH to deliver RANKED CROSS SERVER WARZONES. If you don't, all the people you baited into re-subbing under the guise of rated pvp in 1.2 will never come back, and servers will collectively die. You have stated yourself you have no plans for server consolidation, which means that without the re-subbed playerbase coming back and staying, the game is dead. One month. I hope you know what you're doing. All signs suggest you don't.
  10. Example: War Hero Legs cost 2,200 commendations. Commendations are received at an exchange rate of 30 warzone to 10 war hero. That's approximately 115 warzones to get your pants. 1,150 warzones for a complete set. I hope you like Korean style grinds.
  11. Which also has had its pvp removed indefinitely. Sigh.
  12. Anyone who was involved with the game in pre-alpha builds knows how true this is. Originally, there were only 2 force classes per side. George got mad, so now there are 4. Originally, all colored beams/blasts/lazers etc. would be affected by color crystals, but George wanted colors to be unique to force classes, so now they don't. Originally, a smuggler could 1v1 a shadow. George saw some footage, and began a large-scale riot in the offices after he had snuck in during the night, and changed smuggler blaster pistols to walkie talkies.
  13. I am going to repost this response I received on Reddit from BW employee named DoctorDake: "First, keep in mind that when we say "tie," we very specifically mean "a round in which no doors are breached." After any doors are breached, your team receives objective points based on their speed, so it's no longer a tie. So with that in mind, your analysis is incorrect. We have seen the first defender win plenty of times in the situation where no doors are breached, and as we said, it is random. Oddly enough, "random" means that it could be the case that you've only ever see the first attacker win. It's unlikely, but given the laws of probability, completely possible. As Joveth mentioned, random draw is never the ideal solution for ties, and we'll be implementing changes in the future to have a better solution." So there's the explanation. Yes, I was wrong, but this whole debacle is suffering from non-specific terms. I would call a "tie" where no doors were breached a "stalemate" instead. It is a more specific example of a tie.
  14. This is just completely, factually wrong. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT WRONG. I have a rank 76 marauder and 62 sage now. I can say WITH ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CERTAINTY that the winner of a tie is as follows: if no doors were ever breached, first team to attack wins. If a tie occurs where doors were breached, it goes by: most bridges/shields taken down, or fastest to breached the furthest door. I am extremely disappointed that a CM would propagate such a blatant inaccuracy. Stop spreading this misinformation immediately.
  15. This right here. 3.5-6k aoe on 9 second cooldown along with 6 free cleaves that crit for 2-4k. Voidstar? Playground. Huttball? Stomping ground. Civil War? They can't just defend with 2. You will kill them and cap, every time (unless one of them lands a long stun when your resolve is like 900 etc. and you thus end up stunlocked for ~15 seconds). The only people who think Marauder isn't the most feared thing on the field, are annihilation marauders or people who only fight against annihilation marauders.
