  1. You happen to be in a quiet percentage of the subscriber consumer base, then. Those most vocal are the ones who are dissatisfied with the value of their subscription in comparison to the attention the Cartel Market and free to play consumers have been recieving.
  2. Now this is a legitimate complaint/suggestion. Thank you. I agree. Having the 1 million credit cost plus the legacy requirement in addition to the cartel coin unlock capability is counter-productive for the legacy system, but that is also true of other things, like the legacy rocket boost and quick-travel cool-downs. Personally, the whole legacy system could use a little (lot) more TLC, but I also understand that the Legacy system isn't high on a lot of people's priority lists.
  3. While my few experiences with SWTOR customer service has never been that bad, I agree with the sentiment.
  4. First, who are you to demand anything? Seriously, if you have a complaint, do it in a civilized fashion, not like a 5 year old throwing a tantrum. Second, what does it matter? All the current legacy perks can be purchased at any time with cartel coins (admittedly some require the toon to be a specific level) and those can also be purchased with in-game credits at specific legacy levels. Treek is, in my opinion, no different than that. Having her available to both the in-game credit market and the quick-purchase cartel market is good marketing strategy and is designed to appeal to the largest portion of the gaming community possible.
  5. Or, you could address the issues causing you to lose satisfaction with the service in an attempt to get it remedied so you aren't driven to stop supporting something that you otherwise would love. You don't have to leave if you don't like something. That's defeatism and unproductive.
  6. Thank you for acknowleding that I am not trying to state such. I also dislike the overly entitlement-driven complaints that I've read in many threads, but I also understand the sentiment that drives some people to feel the need to complain about the current state of affairs- even if they are doing it improperly.
  7. I don't believe I've been 'QQing' at any point in this thread, nor have I been requesting anything 'extra.' My original post was only to compare what subscribers get for a (recurring) payment compared to what a premium or free player could get for a one-time purchase. Since then I have commented on the apparent trend that the developers have been making in the released content and voiced my concerns about what such actions foretell for the future of the game. I also may have placed a suggestion for an action that would go towards reversing the growing trend of subscriber dissatisfaction. I am glad that you are satisfied with your continuing purchase, and I hope that you remain so. The fact remains, however, that there is a loud selection of subscribers who are losing the same satisfaction that you have for the game, and that indication should be of some concern to the developers and their marketing team, as they represent a loss of income for the game, should they vote with their wallets and cancel their subscriptions and leave the game.
  8. I really like the comment about getting all story content as part of the subscriber package. That would go a long way to making me happy- provided they actually were making new story content with any regularity. I've also had an idea that would make subscription worth something more, and even go towards increasing cartel market sales, which would be an incentive for BW/EA to create it. Give Subscribers the ability to purchase any non super-rare item in the cartel packs directly from the cartel market. This would give Subbers the ability to get the items that they want without relying on gambling packs, still give them a reason to buy gambling packs, and be a perk that is actually worth mentioning on the list of things that subscribers get. There are other suggestions that are worth taking note of by people who have been gaming longer than me, for sure. As for the OP's suggestion regarding Heroic Summon- I don't think that it would work as written; but perhaps the ability to have two companions out when traveling solo/ during Heroic Moments could work?
  9. Other than getting fewer exp rewards for the quests, yes. Also, you might have issues finding groups for heroics, as some people might be adverse to the exp cut that grouping with a higher level toon birngs.
  10. I'm level 46 and haven't finished Hoth yet. (3rd toon)
  11. And that could be remedied by a patch that allows all of your character model to be included inside your LOS range, which would probably be easier to work than remapping the entirety of the game to include collision detection.
  12. Completely agree with this. And I love the game and the community that I've found here, so I'd hate for it to be destroyed by shifting into a RMT ghost of what it could be.
  13. What would you like to see from the UI? I find that constructive comments are more helpful than 'It still sucks.'
  14. No. The 500CC grant was given only to current Subscribers.
  15. No, I grasp it. In fact, it's almost the point of this thread. As long as we can put a static monetary value on the benifits of being a subscriber, the status of being a subscriber is de-valued. As I've said before, the original post doesn't take into account the ability to purchase items off the GTN on purpose. A player starting out today will not have the resources available to manipulate the market in the fashion you suggest, but they could drop $80+ dollars on the cartel market and get the same results.
  16. Do you have a source for your information regarding the RMT monetization insistance? I'm curious, not challenging on this. If it is truth, then it is proof that EA is driving the devs to destroy the game entirely. (In my opinion.) I completely agree with your sentiment about new content needing to not be gated by the Cartel Market. The instant that happens, I'm out of the game entirely, and permanently. Probably would sell all my gear and donate the credits to my guild, assuming anyone is left in the guild after people of like mind exodus from the game.
  17. Where does having a lot of credits at lower level break the game? Please let me know, so I can send my 5 million credits to my level 1 toon. I personally disagree with the option to purchase planetary comms with in-game credits. I like the way you get them now (even if the Nar Shadda bonus series could use some as rewards) because they reward people who go through the content with a means of gearing themselves for new content. Increasing the max comms limit would be nice, but I understand why they put the limit there. As it is, it costs more than the limit to fully equip a lvl 50 character in full level-equivalent planetary mods, which requires you to either mail that toon mods from another toon that had extra comms for purchasing, or to push through the content and challenge yourself. Also, we already have a means of turning any kind of commendation for credit- purchase some gear, wait out the refund timer (or mail the thing to an alt) and sell the item to a vendor. Boom, free credits.
  18. And this, while a valid opinion, does not help solve the issue of a de-valued subscription.
  19. Personally, if it were in any form option C, I would much rather they come out and say it so the community wouldn't be expecting responses to their comments.
  20. I agree and share your concern over the path of the game development. The next big update seems to be mostly actual content, though- new flashpoints, quests, ect. Hopefully these last few updates were just the devs working out the Cartel Market and bringing that engine up to speed while they were working out the majority of the kinks for the next big update. If that is the development plan- alternate update phases between CM content and in-game content- then I could live with that, but even so it's not really giving any particular incentive to remain a subscriber. Personally- and given the breakdown of the things that I posted- the developers and game managers really need to start thinking of how they want to retain their current subscriber base and recruit new members of that community, as the subscribers represent a recurring income source for the game. (And honestly, it really is all about the money- both to keep the servers running and to line the pockets of the people in charge.)
  21. Pretty much. Which begs the question: If so many people are still long-term subscribers, then why haven't the dev's been responding to the subscriber community's legitimate complaints?
  22. I felt it pertinent to put in the game content for the simple fact that it is likely the reason someone downloaded the game to begin with, let alone become a subscriber. I acknowledge that there is likely a cheaper route to getting full unlock capabilities than the one I posted, but that wasn't the point of my post. The point of my post is to list the things you get for being a subscriber in one place, so that people can reference it if they want, and decide if it's worth their time, as opposed to someone just downloading the game today, purchasing RotHC and dropping $80 in CC to get the unlocks that they want.
  23. You're very welcome. Hope it is useful to you somehow.
  24. If swtor's page is incorrect, then my source information is wrong, and I can't really help that. As it is, citing information directly from SWTOR's website is probably a safe assumption, all things considered, though. Since I'm currently away from game, I can't personally check the Cartel Market, so I used Dulfy's site since I trust her content. I similarly can't very well verify the limitations of F2P without creating a new account and starting up a F2P account. I was stating things that you get as a subscriber, not things that only subscribers get. Full 1-50 content is something that you get for being a subscriber, yes? You don't have to pay extra money for it, I don't think. At least, I don't remember doing anything of the sort. This thread isn't about market tactics or GTN strategy. This is about the things that you get for being a Subber, vs the things that you could be getting for free- or a one-time purchase. Also, take a look at some of the unlocks. They specifically say that you can still purchase and pass them to others, despite the fact that you are a subber and have those benifits already. By no means do all of them say that, but some do.
  25. That list is completely based off of http://www.swtor.com/free/features. So, please correct it. The cartel market prices are based off of Dulfy's comprehensive list of unlocks found here: http://dulfy.net/2012/10/23/swtor-cartel-market-items/ Provided that Dulfy is correct (and I've not known her site to be otherwise for much of anything) then character slot unlocks are 600 CC on the CM, and since F2P players start with 2 character slots, to get the 12 that a subber gets per server, that would be 6000 CC. (12-2= 10. 600 x 10= 6000.) And as I stated in my post, almost all of the perks for being a subscriber can be purchased on the Cartel Market- and many of those unlocks can then be sold on the GTN, or simply passed to people as gifts.
