    PVP leveling

    It's slow, but fun. Much more fun for me than redoing the same planetary questlines for the x-th time. Exp seems based much more on time spent than win/losses. The real snag with leveling through pvp is not the exp but the money - you make far less money in PvP. I sort of get around that by doing the daily pvp quest on several alts instead of concentrating on leveling one alt.
  2. I don't look at medals when awarding MVP, I look at objectives, unless I specially noticed someone during a match. But you don't get 8 medals doing nothing. Someone has to guard the node our side has. Shadow tanks are good for that since they can CC at the start from cloak, buy some time, then last some in tank stance, and then disappear before dieing, and after a few seconds spoil the capping with an AE before finally dieing, hopefully having bought enough time for reinforcements to arrive.

  4. Barely compatible, especailly lacking endurance. With the introduction of BH gear, crafted gear (gear crafted without requiring materials that drop from bosses) should have been raised to Columni level already.
  5. No, it just means people quit as soon as they start to lose since it's better to hope for a win in the next match than try to tough one out. Your "Solution" was tried, and failed - hard.
  6. Yeah, Bioware let all crafters down here. Instead of being able to craft gear close to raid level we're stuck with worthless stuff. They should either give us all appearances as orange schems - and I mean "give", not add them to an obscure loot table, just put them on a vendor on fleet - or let us craft at least third best raid gear, columni at this point. Again without stupid loot grinds, just add them to the vendors.
  7. Way I see it, it's not a server transfer, it's a "pre-season server merge". The goal is to get everyone active on a given origin server off that server, and on another. The logical follow-up is that the origin server will close down afterwards.
  8. Once a HM Boss enrages it starts doing a lot more damage, and usually kills the group in short order. It's basically a time limit - if you have not killed the Boss in X minutes you die.
  9. Indeed. The credit costs and cool downs times need to be reduced a lot.
  10. It's a raiding game. If you're no raider you're not worth anything. Anything that could "threaten" raiders - like crafting being useful in the endgame - is not possible or the raiders would complain and complain and complain. Because to give their playstyle any meaning there can be no similar gear acquired through other means.
  11. Did you check the general pvp vendors (those right at the pvp daily mission terminal) on the fleet? They sell a number of crystal recipes.
  12. I gather they fear that suddenly and for a limited time, they are not that much better than the rest anymore. At least the "But the peons don't have to sludge through the old content anymore" complaints make me think it's about that. Not a very nice attitude, of course.
  13. If you mainly play to get new gear - hey, cool, new gear and new levels to grind for! Not finished gearing up? So what, you can go straight to the new gear when it comes out! If you don't play mainly to get new gear - hey, cool, new operation and new planet and new quests to do! If you mainly grind gear so you can look down on those who have lesser gear - Oh, boo, for the two weeks until you clear the new content the rest of the players is closer to being your equal than before.
  14. You don't need to upgrade every 2 levels. Look how armorsmith progresses - there are sometimes 8 levels or more between a new crafted pair of boots, and one does fine.

All this stupid decision does is making sure that Pre-mades will have an even greater advantage since rated WZs will make gearing up far faster than having to slog through normal WZs - often populated with WHs waiting for a rated. Bioware needs to stop driving casuals away by rewarding only hardcore grinders. PVP gear should be free, not the result of a grind.
  16. A deserter debuff will cause even less people to queue. What we need are cross-server queues.
  17. Stock up on medpacks and wz adrenals. If you can spare the comms you can also start buying the level 20 or 40 pvp armor sets, for your companions too, or artifice recipes.
  18. And it is not real life. It should not be work. It's a game. You should not have to grind to pvp at all. It's player vs. player, not player vs. time. Requiring a grind before you are on the same level, gear wise, as everyone else, is stupid and just turns people off pvp, hurting pvp in the long term.
  19. Tionese has a higher base stat and more endurance - lots - but less secondary stats, otherwise they are relatively equal to purple crafted ones.
  20. Only thing that can save pvp in this game is x-server queueing. Even rated WZs won't help, people get sick of facing the same people each time, and will quit, and numbers will drop. BW needs to get x-server WZs going ASAP.
  21. Unfortunately, for many - and sadly, for BW too - "MMOG" translates to "game for raiding guilds". BW really doesn't care about casuals in the endgame. We get a great game until we hit 50, where you can solo or group without being at a disadvantage, where crafting is useful, but once we hit 50 it's "raid or cancel, no content for casuals".
  22. Well, you just learned why in PvP, if one side wins the war, everyone loses since there is no pvp anymore. Without x-Server queuing we'll see more of that.
  23. That's to get Upper Hand going, at least if you're playing a scoundrel/operative healer. You need that to keep your neergy regen buff going (uses up one Upper hand), and to boost your healing.
  24. The only reason not to ranked would be if you don't want to risk your ranking. That would be fine by me. The only reason I want ranked is so I can finish the damn gear grind faster so I can finally both pvp without being handicapped and get mods with a set bonus to put into better looking gear.
