  2. Also, it's not about engine performance - jets coming out of feet, or jets coming out of backs is all the same to the rendering code.
  3. Generally, I'm happy with the game, despite being quietly bummed about the increasing number of non-functioning jetpacks, but this case is a bit different. Spending money on packs with an expectation that the thing works as advertised only to have it broken really stings. Nevermind that the Bounty Broker's gear doesn't work, or that the new basic comm gear doesn't work. I really hope Musco or one of the other mods pass on the dissatisfaction to the dev team. Honestly, it can't be that hard to get these things turned around.

  6. Took the day off work tomorrow to pew-pew like a boss. Just wanted to give a big shout out to the team at Bioware Austin for gambling on such a huge addition to the game. From everything I've seen, it looks awesome and quite fleshed out. Anyway, see you all in space tomorrow!

  8. I can't believe it - it's some Charlie-and-the -chocolate-factory level s#!t! I had enough Cartel coins for One pack, that's it. Opened it up, and bam - woodland Varactyl! Totally not trying to gloat - just super stoked!

  13. I've been here, and subbed, since launch. I took a 4 month break last summer, but returned to check out the changes post-FTP and found the game to be vastly improved. Having fun, can't wait for the 9th!

  15. I totally agree that the shell/mod approach to be applied to all gear in the game. It'd be simpler, more flexible, and unique.
  16. Don't be glib. The CM is not the game's focus, it's developed by a separate team. Let's not forget they have continually added new FP's, space missions, and PVP maps over the past year - and Makeb is right around the corner. I don't PVP, but I think a rep system for PVP is a great idea! Nice post, OP.
  17. I don't disagree that they could/should be doing a better job of supporting the CE vendor - and I don't even own the CE. But, that is another topic. Using it as misdirection in the thread doesn't make what I said about the Cartel rep any less true.
  18. That would be a retroactive reward, which would be nice, but the fact remains they have implemented a system which will reward players going forward. That's still a reward.
  19. It's a simple, elegant way to reward people who buy a ton of packs. Nothing you can get from them has stats, so it's not 'P2W', and people who don't buy packs but who want the stuff can get it off the GTN. Additionally, people who hate the system can boycott it entirely, and not have their game experience affected in the least. I actually think it's a pretty comprehensive solution that supports people who are dumping extra money into the game without creating any kind of measurable disadvantage to those who don't. Also, we said we were sick of recolored gear, and they delivered on that too - great looking new mounts, and a ton of new weapons and armor. Let's lighten up a little and eat a few grapes on our new rides.
  20. This isn't any kind of moral dilemma at all. There's no downside to killing the wolves, so you sacrifice nothing to solve the problem. In your broken example, sending them to the other village is just unnecessarily vindictive, since you obvisouly posess the means to end the threat without further deaths. Try: A) Kill the wolves and lose 1/4 of your male/warrior population B) Send the wolves to the other village where 100% of them will be killed, incl women and children.
  21. I think you guys are looking at this backward. They probably didn't have time for another species, and someone suggested a slight alteration of the humans in order to deliver more racial content. Instead of no cyborgs at all, we at least got something in that vein. In my 12+ years as a game artist & art director it's always been the same story. The artists who made this content probably wanted to push it further, but were facing an unrealistically tight timeframe. The feature was probably set to be axed, and someone figured out a way to keep it, albeit in a limited form.

  23. Yeah, when you're 50 with speeder piloting 3, you can cruise through packs of mobs with no prob.
