  1. I don't recall which update they changed it, but I know that now all characters unlock their legacy at level 10. It's no longer required to finish act one first.
  2. To get back on track and help the op, there is one thing that nobody has mentioned. After you have your new mods in the gear, I've found that I need to click the apply button in the lower right corner in order to make the mods actually go onto the item. This might be part of the problem the op is having.
  3. There is no buyback option on the GTN because you are, essentially, buying from another player. I would recommend either trying to resell it on the GTN or just put it in your cargo hold until you can use it
  4. From what I can tell from your post, you're confusing switching weapons for switching attack abilities. The weapon that you're equipped with has no effect at all on how much energy is used, but the ability you click to activate does. IIRC, the abilities for a sniper rifle user does indeed look like a rifle, which may be the confusion. It also looks like you said you accidentally dragged it out of your quick bar. What you need to do is open up you ability menu at the top. Inside this menu, you need to find your basic attack for your class and drag it back to your quick bar. This should solve your problem. In order to keep this from happening again, you can lock your bar. There's a little lock on the side that you can click to keep abilities from moving around and that you can unlock later when you get new abilities.
  5. I can attest that you can send credits and items to a FTP account from a non-FTP account. I have done so with a couple of friends, though the other posters are right that there is a lag. I think it was about 1-2 hours before the FTP account got the mail, but as we were playing at the time I could easily have that time frame wrong. If he still hasn't gotten it, is it possible that you may have misspelled his name and sent it to the wrong person? As the other posters have said, you will get your mail returned in about 30 days if it hasn't been opened.
  6. I would like to point out that there is a legacy buff for getting a character to level 50 with max light and one for getting a character to level 50 with max dark. Check out your legacy unlocks for more info on which one does what.
  7. I believe that ftp does get legacy, but not until they finish their starter world and go to the fleet for the first time.
  8. Once you go through the quest chain and unlock him on a lvl 50 toon, you can unlock him for any other toon through your legacy menu. The price is something like 1million credits or 350 cartel coins, IIRC.
  9. One thing that others aren't mentioning is the abilities of your companion. There are situations where you want to turn off or on some of the abilities of your companion so that they will or will not use them. When I'm running around with a healer companion, I only have on their healing abilities and their stun ability. I also make sure they're in their healer stance. This way they are only focused on healing me and won't likely draw as much aggro. To turn on or off their abilities, open up their interface by clicking the plus symbol by the lower left bar on the screen. Then right click on the abilities that you want to turn on or off. Then hit the little minus sign to reduce the bar again. Sometimes just sticking your healer on total heal duty makes all the difference.
  10. I gotta say that the only time I hit Need is for the toon I'm currently on. In fact, I would imagine some people like my approach to gear when I run flashpoints. If I need an item for the toon, I hit Need, otherwise I just pass on it. I get good enough gear for my companions from mission rewards and drops, and pve is usually easy enough that there is no need to try to grab stuff in flashpoints that I don't need. And if I don't win the roll on the stuff I 'Need,' then oh well. It's not like missing one piece of loot is going to be the end of the world. That being said, if I notice someone hitting 'Need' on an item that they can't use, then I won't run with them again because I know that other people might have really wanted a particular piece of gear for themselves, even if it's just because of how it looks.
  11. Why would you use sparkle powder on the ship? All it does is get stuck in the air filtration units and oxygen scrubbers, which makes the air look and taste all funny. And then when the ship droid finally gets it all cleaned out he starts whining about that all the time, and I think we're all tired of hearing him prattle on endlessly anyway.
  12. If you're asking how you start it up, you need to have a toon finish act I and be level 30 in order to start up your legacy.
  13. I think it's in a legacy creation package thing you get in the mail if you've completed Act I or as an automatic quest reward as you complete act I. At least that's how I've gotten it for my toons so far. As for the pet, I saw on another thread that they're scheduled to go out at about midnight central time tonight, so you should get it in the mail tomorrow.
  14. I also want to reiterate what one other person said since so many people miss this. Once you reach the fleet the first time, you will have a fleet pass in your skills. This will get you back to the fleet when you need to if you don't have your ship yet. I think you can also get back on the shuttle you arrived on, but I'm not sure about that one.
  15. If it's the one I'm thinking of, I've seen it wandering in the SW area of the Dune Sea, near the start point of the Jawa Balloon and as far out as just past the Heroic area for Empire in the Dune Sea. It has a pretty large wandering path, so good luck finding it.
  16. I would just like to point out that I don't think you have to read the little flashing yellow rules for them to transfer to your codex. I read them on my first toon, but haven't bothered on any of my others. The codex entries are still there on my other toons.
  17. Maybe he's just pining for the fjords
  18. The quest giver for the bonus chain on Nar Shaddaa, for either side, is in the middle of the spaceport area on Nar Shaddaa, between the two counters that look like shopkeeps. I've seen the quest giver with a greyed out quest available triangle since my toons aren't high enough yet, so I know they're there. Once you go down the elevator from your docking bay and move to the center region where all four docking bays empty out to, there will be a counter to your left and right in the center of the room. The bonus quest giver is located between them, standing at the end of one of them.
  19. Just for the record, on my server I always try to keep my eye on the general chat window and take the time to answer easy questions like those if I can. There are times that I have to wait until I finish a fight or someone beats me to it or other notices push it up before I read it, but I've yet to see anyone on my server go without an honest and helpful answer to a question from a new player.
  20. There are a couple of threads about this bug in the smuggler class forum. It apparantly showed up with the most recent update on monday night and the devs are working on it. There are a lot of us with the same issue.
  21. If this is the place I'm thinking of, in the far south area of Taris (The Brell Sediment or something like that if I recall correctly), and the two quests you need are to collect containers of Tritoxinate and to destroy barrels of chemicals, they are both in the same entrance. What you want to do is go south into and through the pirate area until you see a ramp/walkway leading up, with some Nexu by it if I recall correctly. Go up this ramp and you'll find yourself in an area with some more Nexu and some droids further in towards your right. You want to go back and towards the right until you see an opening which should have a green arrow on your map. The floor inside is badly slanted, but both quests are inside that same area. I hope this helps you.
  22. I've noticed that in general the Empire ones are fare easier to get than the Republic ones. Granted, I'm only finishing act I right now(slow player, I know), but so far most of the Empire ones simple require you to find a "hidden" path or drop correctly to it which are far easier than all the jumping required by most of the Republic ones. It kinda made Nar Shaddaa a bit of a nasty shock with that beam jumping one. If only there were a way to not have to restart the entire jumping puzzles after one missed jump at the very end...
  23. At least you still have eyes. Every now and then I get a glitch in cut scenes where nobody has eyes, just the whitish empty sockets where the eyes should be, allowing me to see what I assume is the inside of the programmed model. This is both amusing and creepy at the same time.
  24. I suppose if all else fails you can go into the quest menu and turn off the little bubble to track your quests, but that seems like more work than just turning off the window each time.
  25. I haven't gotten any of my classes, IA included, to the end yet as I keep jumping around and taking my time, but is it possible that the devs ended it this way on purpose to give them a continuation point that people will want when they advance the storyline and possibly levels in future expansions? Just food for thought.
