  1. I have never seen a game work so hard to tick off its base and step on its own feet. Just when I think Ive seen it all from TOR, another fumble. In spite of what the somewhat new EA CEO stated about EA turning a new leaf, nothing has changes, its the same old EA and TOR that its always been. Its about treating gamers like five year olds and getting as much money as is humanely possible from those five year olds. So, yeah, this is final "total lack of integrity" straw, so Ive taken screenshots of what was originally promised, the statement made by the somewhat new EA CEO, posts of this latest breach of integrity and will have my very successful gaming friend push all this out to her press contacts. Enough is enough. And while Im at it, I'll go ahead and send a person letter with the same info to EA's CEO because I have just GOT TO HEAR fresh off of the massive success of the film, pulling a stunt like this is good for business. It's time they cleaned house at Bioware Austin.
  2. what it reeks of is cash flow issues. Hey, stick with us for SIX MONTHS and we'll say thank you. VERSUS earning that right out of the gate, by what you get from your subscription.
  3. My smuggler, Gritz, would TOTALLY disagree (as would his friends in Nar Shadda). Of course, one of his sons (the married one, a Jedi- pfft) would agree.
  4. And your FE companions level from BOTH interactions and gifts. The companions Ive played with, even married one for, oh about FOUR YEARS, are test dummies for vehicle safety. My wife to my main, has talked to me (saying anything unique) for well over a year. I enjoyed her love letter during FE (nice RP element, have always enjoyed some of those emails) but after getting her to level 17 (she was maxed out under the old system) with LOTS of gifts, now she's gone. So whatever they do, they need to ensure that as they noted, if I want to level with my TOON WIFE, I get interaction leveling same as Lana or anyone else. And my word, the new toons, there have been times there have been TWO options to flirt within on radial dial. Its like they want us to piss off our toon wives. Sigh. I really enjoy all but one of the FE chapters, - just reminds me of Will's voice and the bravado of some his characters, and of course HK They still have a lot to fix in terms of their companion strategy. And lots of bugs and problems. In over 4 years, I can honestly say that I dont think calling or writing into a CSR has ever even once solved a problem. The EA site for complaints gets much better results
  5. Yep, Vivicar- but I was just wondering in general. Thanks for all the feedback!
  6. Howdy One of my alts is a level 31 Serenity Shadow. The serenity discipline offers most its damage/survival bumps to force technique. Honestly, I got all the way to the chapter one boss fight, forget the dudes name, FIVE levels before I was his equal (in terms of level) with no problem. He, however, one shot kills me with one of his moves. So Im randomly running heroics to try and get closer to his level. So why am I here then? On the tougher fights, always heroics and still somewhat rare, I notice that my survivability SOARS going into combat stance and I still put out a ton of damage. I basically become this DPS Tank creature. Should I just level that way or will that hurt me, in terms of bad habits, when I get to the higher levels? Im not an operations guy on my main or in TOR, I have done raiding in other MMOs but for this one, I just want to solo as much elite content as possible. I would eventually like to run this toon as my main. My Focus Sent just finished Chp 9 of Fallen but I enjoy Serenity Shadow as a playstyle more. Thoughts on the the whole combat stance thing?
  7. They did some epic storytelling in Fallen--- high production values which cost money. Im no fan of how they handle the Cartel (I think it exploits players) and have been an outspoken critic of many things but come on- because your lightsaber switch out didn't show up (switching a dedicated Sith to blue, no less) is somehow ruining your story? Sigh.
  8. So I just finished the Revan and Fallen Empire add ons back to back and I REALLY like having a whole new cadre of companions to play with. And with regards to the Fallen Empire, I thought all the chapters, with one exception, were epic- very much enjoyed playing them. I really hope they continue to develop content along these lines. I really like integrating flashpoints into these storylines, also a good call. Complaint #1- Revan Complaint #2 Asylum(ish) Loved ... All in al, well done Bioware
  9. This is the stuff that just drives me batty and everytime, I just rather log out. Life is too short. #1- Revan questline for republic. First off, I could do the storyline flashpoint (Torch) before I was actually required to, which is the first problem. I went through it fine, no problems. Then my Revan quest gets to the point where I have to go through it again. Not happy about this but fine, I do. I get to the battle of the brother and sister and right when they are at zero health, they respawn with full heatlh. The Mandorian storyline being plugged in, even the arena look- A+ Me having to (four years later) go through all these bugs STILL- F #2- I bought for 2M, two large turrets for my stronghold. All their criterai say undefined, heavily posted about on the forums. Your recent patch did not solve this. So 2M of my hard earned credits go to waste. But sure, I should spend real world dollars while all this is happening in the background. I was having A BLAST on Rishi and then all this plus losing 120 common crystals becaue if I buy 208 level gear, I cant strip the mods out for the look I WANT to play, The only way I can use 208 level mods via my common crystals is to wear items you want me to wear. So I signed off and gave up. This is why you keep losing customers.
  10. #1- Bioware, for all the many improvements they have made that you correctly note, remains broken on a fundamental level. They no longer put out the quality work they became legendary for. When did this happen? As soon as they were bought out by EA. #2- Although rarely taken on as a passionate cause, the Cartel "gamble and hope you get the item" scheme is designed for one thing and one thing alone, to maximize the amount of cash they can get from you, their customer. Period. That mentality says it all. Nothing about their Cartel program is a microtransaction. #3- EA was awarded a 10 year license. There is no way that was a free pass licence. I guarantee there were a ton of instances documented wherein they could lose that license. #4- Hardcore MMO? And that worked out for Wildstar how? And they also suffered with telling players what they were going to get versus giving players memorable experience that does the branding for them. #5- Everybody can bag on WoW all they want, they remain, even after all these years, the biggest show in town. There is a reason for that. As a business model, there are reasons that even after huge subscriber losses- they remain top dog. #6- Disney doesnt get gaming and is only just now, warming up to out world. However, with the success of their current film, they will get the power a well done game has to deliver Disneyland: The Star Wars version to peoples computers. Over the long haul, there is no way they are going to just throw away MMO dollars. Old Republic may or may not last, but I guarantee you- a SW MMO will always be in the landscape. #7- There are aspects of this game that delivers an epic SW experience, there are parts of this game that exploit players for money (not all of which are immediately obvious) in a horrible way, and there are parts of this game that are just flat out epically boring and tedious. #8- It is in EVERYONES best interests, Disney's from avoiding huge development costs (launching a new MMO), Biowares to keep their jobs and ours to keep our game- for them to work these things out. So far, I see no indicator that will happen. The HK perk for subscribers, meh. A nice fun side deal, but the main event as a perk? Sigh. I love their stories, Im enjoying Rishi and Revan- look forward to Fallen. Loved my Sentinel's story and am really enjoying my Smuggler's story. LOVE the stronghold although lots of a mechanics there that make me nutty. All this to say, this is LOTS AND LOTS of good things to protect and that they can feel good about and us. We'll see if they wake up, TRULY wake up to the other things.
  11. I had read an older Dev thread that stated that to be the case but then realized just that, it was an older thread. My bad
  12. TROLL ALERT! TROLL ALERT! I know this is going to be a HUGE newsflash to you, but not everyone thinks like you. I know! Imagine that. I have no problem working hard to get any number of things. Requiring a player to repeat the same content is the approach that has killed off many MMOs over the last 5 years, so spare me the high and mighty. Its very poor game design. Send me to a ton of planets and flashpoints and quests to get this supposedly "one of the best" items- cool, Im down for that. But repeating content to get it, I playing the game to- another huge shocker, to enjoy it.
  13. Yeah, I think thats what Im going to have to do. I may just purchase a few each week until I get there, as I have a ton of other things my massive Tatooine house needs. Thats a lot of hooks!
  14. Before quoting me, you might want to actually read my post- it has nothing to do with achievements, it has to do with getting a specific item. Which I put "for a reason".
  15. The item I want is the big datacron looking decor item, Im rather sure it said 50 of those manaan tokens. Yeah, dont even get me started about all the things still broken in this game. I was in early BETA and while many improvements have been made, there have been no improvements to Biowares integrity. Really irks me. The Cartel Market for any gamer familiar with "micro transactions" is NOT that. These are marco transactions, meant to bleed as much money (essentially, exploit the player base) as is possible. The loot tables, the massively complicated way they set up getting decor for your strongholds, now-questing with your companion has almost no impact on influence, so we have to grind companion gifts, solo flashpoints that offer zero valuable loot of any type ever- even hard fights, I could go on and on. Its like they view their job role as making gameplay impossible and hey, lets milk them for every dollar. The commonly stated complaints about cartel coin awards not being timely. Are their checks, as in their payroll, tinely? If EA randomly paid them, how would they react? But hey, if we're loyal- at least we get a droid. They dont get MMO, they dont get their own customers and they never have (since they have been with EA). Well, dang it. Not sure what I'll do, find a way to make a lot of money I guess to buy them becase Im not going to repeat that long FP for one of those per run x 48 more runs. Thanks for the thoughts!
  16. It REALLY IRKS me that Bioware has been allowed to exploit players via the Cartel Market, those are NOT micro transactions. And frankly, I hope Disney cans the lot of the them and replaces them with people who are willing to build on some great storylines, a game that does a lot better job of meeting the needs of its players. All that said, although rather tedious, the snowball items are cool and remarkably, we dont have to buy them with RL dollars. I love some of the decor items that Ive put into my Tatooine cantina.
  17. There is a Manaan item I want, 50 of the flashpoint barrel things required. Being I cant repeat solo flashpoints, Im guessing the only way to get them is group? Sigh. I hate being forced to do things, it stops feeling like a fun game. Ive been in epic guilds and done all that, but my life does not have that kind of room right now. Is there any sane way to grind these that wont take hours and hours and lots of grouping?
  18. Howdy- Yep, familar with those, even have all the droids and scrap vendors at my casa. The one Im talking about has a lot of adaptive weaponary, I think two decor items, a few misc. He is right near the color crystals recipe NPC
  19. I have a bunch of toons, I get bored so Im leveling 4 of them. One of them is level 57. They all contribute to their legacy father's Tatooine casa, in terms of decorating, upgrade expenses, etc.. Anyways, so I noticed a vendor that has some interesting looking items on Makeb, I assume its the same on other planets at this level and beyond, that offers items that require 50 or 200 of "X" plus credits. Where do I get these, whatever they are, to pay for these items? I assume some kind of dailies system? If all Im interested in is maxing out my farming time, is there a better way to farm these than other ways? Thanks for feedback!
  20. >Gives gift >Response: So you do want me around. >Gives gift >Response: So you do want me around. >Gives gift >Response: So you do want me around. >Gives gift >Response: So you do want me around. So I asked Buzz, really? The same thing each time? To which he replied, "To infinity and beyond!" Which made me chuckle, so I gave him a gift. He replied. "To infinity and beyond!" Sigh. Immersion. Its what went away a long time ago in game far far away. Somebody bumps this "Immersion. Its what went away a long time ago in game far far away. " Somebody bumps this "Immersion. Its what went away a long time ago in game far far away."
  21. Where exactly, is the solo flashpoint entrance (republic)? On the upper left hand side, it showed both tactical and solo with me upped to level 65 Many thanks
  22. Is there a reason you just didnt put down what you read over there? It would have been helpful. Ive looked through both threads and cant find anything on either thread
  23. Anyone else got any of these? I cant click it, I cant do anything with it. Gracias
