  1. Cool, thanks . I got a six months sub and still have 123 days so I hope I will see more story until it expires. If not, I'll just resub again in two/three years to play through a chunk of story content in one go. No rush .
  2. So, I recently got back to SWTOR (my Jedi Consular) and I had to pick it back up all the way after KotFE. I played through KotET and all of the subsequent stuff up to the point where one of my last tasks was to distribute some resources among refugees on Odessen. There was also something about T7 receiving the task to gather intelligence data. Now I seem to have run out of story content? Is this correct or am I missing something? Thanks for any insight!
  3. Thanks, folks. I believe I ran into this bug (from older posts I have read) where I got locked into veteran difficulty on that mission. I chose veteran difficulty upon starting the chapter because I remembered that the first Knights of the Eternal Throne chapters were mind-numbingly boring due to posing zero challenge. After I realized that veteran difficulty was too hard, I actually reset the difficulty to 'story' both from my character portrait and in the chapter overview, logged out and back in, quit the game, restarted etc. but somehow it must not have stuck. I haven't played in a few days now and when I returned today it had apparently finally fixed itself. The fight was a complete cakewalk like the previous chapters. I didn't even get scratched whereas before Tayvor would hit me for 13K damage so I went down after two/three hits. Heck, I could barely make it past the first elite knight in that area before. I believe I spent close to a million credits for repairs during the whole chapter due to being stuck on vet difficulty. Anyway, everything is "fine" except that the game is now way too easy again . BTW, another problem was that apparently I had been refunded all of my utility points which I did not notice before. Maybe the game should give returning players a more visible notification about unspent points.
  4. Mornin' I'm a returning player to SWTOR and my main is a level 65 Jedi Sage healer spec. I left after finishing the first chapters of the Eternal Throne stuff. So, I decided to simply continue where I left off and went to play the new chapters. I'm now stuck at the fight with Tayvor. It is way too hard at this point so I think I might have to level up to 70 first and come back then. My question is: What other content can I do to grind from 65 to 70? Did they ever add new planets or new missions for that 65 - 70 level range? Is there somewhere I can go to pick up a longer story/quest line that will take me to level 70? Is there any new story content aside from the Eternal-Whatever stuff? Or is the only way to get to 70 to grind daily quests and flashpoints all day/night (or do you have to grind those alliance missions that I vaguely remember)? Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction!
  5. The entire nine chapters are like that. You just push 'W' and watch cutscenes. Sad but true. The only good thing about it is that the cutscenes are at least of pretty decent quality (minus the very dated looking character models).
  6. Buy vendor gear for crystals, sell it back to the vendor for $$$ -> profit
  7. Ah thanks a lot. I'll keep my Yavin stuff then. Augmenting everything once was expensive enough .
  8. Yo, quick question on armor sets and bonuses: Do armor sets (like Thexan's stuff) still come with stat bonuses or is the counter like 0/5 just there to show you how many pieces the set has? Secondly, IF armor sets still yield bonuses how do you know which bonuses a specific armor set will have for your class? And which set would you recommend for a Jedi Sage (healer spec) ... it used to be force-mystic IIRC but what is it now? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter!
  9. That's pretty much what I did. Just bunnyhopped around the WZs like an idiot hoping the match would be over ASAP. It wasn't actually that bad to get to 20/20. An unnecessary and annoying timesink, sure, but not much worse than running mind-numbingly boring dailies or FPs. It was also fun to spam chat with some "pwn speak". I hope I didn't seriously annoy anyone too much but serious PvPers would play ranked and not unranked anyway, right? Oh well.... *shrug*... just glad it's over now...
  10. Don't see an issue here. It is a personal story-driven single player experience for 6 - 8 hours only. You can go back to 24/7 grouping and MMOing once you're done with it OR if it really is that unbearable then just skip the KotFE story stuff entirely.
  11. How many million credits in gifts did you spend roughly?
  12. Well, there is some conflicting info in the posts you linked to but there is no way (for me) to tell who of those guys is right or wrong. The premise in both cases is to pick up the appropriate gear from the vendors. For a healer you'd get the savant parts with alacrity for your ear and the implants and the force-healer stuff, of course. The difference is that one guy suggests to use 13 critical augments and 1 alacrity augment while the other dude says it's better to do 8 critical augments and 6 alacrity augments. In some other post I remember reading that someone suggested to push alacrity to about 1100 and critical to the 1300/1400 range. You seem to be getting diminishing returns beyond that point. So it would probably be overkill to follow the guy who suggests to go with 6 alacrity augments. It also looks to me like the dude who suggested the 13 crit augs + 1 alac aug (and to get crit crystals for your saber and the focus) took a more "scientific" approach (i.e. guessed less). So in summary I would lean more towards the 13 + 1 gearing but there's probably nothing wrong with maybe doing 2 or 3 alacrity augs and the rest in crit. I would not do the 8 + 6 as there seem to be indications that this is simply too much with too little return in terms of alacrity rating. As always the "truth" probably lies somewhere in between what these guys suggested.
  13. You don't need one to put in the augs but you still need one to actually make the item "augmentable" up to level 10 (or is 8 the new max?), right? So to answer the OP's question you can find augmentation stations at the fleet (crafting section) or if you have KotFE then there is also one in Odessen where you arrive after finishing the nine chapter storyline. You can also install one in your stronghold if you get the parts and buy the station (check google for the requirements... they're not very steep... you might have to buy a couple items from the GTN, then buy the upgrade station from a vendor and place it in your stronghold for max permanent convenience).
  14. Yes, story content is exactly what I really want. I hate the repetitive end game grind like running the same dailies, same flashpoints (I have no guild and don't do ops) and same events over and over again. I find it outright insulting that MMO devs require their player base to be like trained monkeys because that's exactly what that stupid grinding is like. Even monkeys probably spend their time more wisely than doing stupid repetitive crap like that... That said, it would be great indeed if they would create more engaging story content. It's probably time to introduce difficulty levels like in a single player game. At least easy (like it is now), normal, hard and maybe even more. And then adjust loot (chance) accordingly. There should be a reward for the higher levels. The complete lack of challenge kind of ruined the KotFE storyline. If all you have to do for eight hours is holding down the 'W' key and spam your best DPS attack (= two buttons total) to move to the next cutscene then that's a little underwhelming to put it mildly. Why not have a couple puzzles? A challenging (depending on the chosen difficulty level) mini-boss encounter or optional bosses? Some exploration? Mini-games? Anything? Also, how about some loot/equipment progression. KotFE is soooo boring (except for the somewhat decent story). We really should have walked out of it in full 200 gear, maybe even a few 208 pieces with some lucky drops. So, yes, I absolutely do want them to continue to invest in unique story content and not in repeatable grind crap but please make it MUCH more engaging and add difficulty levels that can be adjusted on the fly. Just pressing 'W' until you run into the next cutscene is not how I want to continue with Chapter X. My decision to resub then (I will cancel in a couple of weeks) will greatly depend on whether there will be more meat to the next expansion.
