  1. The game has been playing fine, no issues with lag at all. And then last night, it was barely playable on both Voss and Alliance Command. Horribible rendering, weird angled pixeling. Anyone else? I check my card and its up to date.
  2. Although I have been an on and off again MMO'r for many years, to include many hours spent raiding with a great guild in WoW and Galaxies (PvP version), TOR for me is about the stories and my SH. I have put countless hours and funds into a given look around a very specific story, The Alliance Commander's Residence (Tatt). I have gone to great lengths to create an experience for visitors with much work left to do, its only 50% done. Now, I suddenly cant buy basic Imp or Rep soldiers because I dont have PvP rep. Always could before, now I can't. So two years of hard work and now I cant complete the SH as I would like. This has been a fundamental complaint of mine for many years, the Devs forcing a style of play versus just giving us the game and letting us enjoy whatever playstyle we like. Not cool.
  3. I used to be able to buy them and now, PvP only? I need 4 more to wrap up my Tatt SH theme and I dont PvP. Ideas? Feedback? Many thanks ;-) Jin
  4. Im trying to find ways to grind decor. Thanks! Bob
  5. I bumped into three people wandering around my SH, first time of seen people there, that was super cool. But there were frozen, couldnt even see their nameplates. Bug? On the one hand, I REALLY enjoy messing with the SH, fine tuning it, growing it over time. On the other hand, the whole Cartel Con thing is so frustrating. Dropped $40 on crates, not one decent decor. I LOVE SW but the RNG, bleed your customer base dry is just a lack of integrity. Dont mind microtransactions, but yeah, this aint that. Anyways, discovered two cool decor things, approaches not items. First of all, going with those blue tent stalls in the bar looks REALLY good. And the new hanging draper light slot things really added a ton to my Jedi Meditation room. Also added a huge GTN, bought some other things. You can all this here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jax9b2nksb1f8wv/AADcjpPhOaRDfeLXKG-L5wRla?dl=0
  6. Saving the galaxy, sharing decorating tips, a Jedi's work is never done! ;-) Glad you found them helpful.
  7. 8. Hmmm ... good idea. I only use PC for gaming, otherwise Im a Mac guy. Any recommendations as to which one you prefer (freeware video)? Thanks for the idea
  9. It costs a minor fortune to fund all the decor needed for a gorgeous Tatt stronghold. Im not talking about popping everything ya got into all slots, meh. Im talking about Lifestyles of Never Rich & Always Devious basecamp! I was farming Fortress but nothing new is dropping at this point. Ive not even gone up there since 5.0 Anything dropping cool decor these days or has that been sucked into the RNG abyss? Would love your ideas! Jin
  10. Also, I have tried twice to get a ton of screenshots to put on IMGUR but since 5.0, cant get my screenshots to work. Plus you dont get the full experience ;-) But one I get the screenshot thing fixed, I'll put a link up,
  11. Hey All Im a part timer and I only sub about 4 months a year or so. Although I did BETA test the game way back when. Needless to say, I have yet to get close to completing a stronghold. But, my Tatt one, really the only one I work on, is now 36% done and I'm really feeling good about what Ive done so far. So if your on Harbinger, check out Gritz Reevo's casa. If you do, strongly suggest click on the juke box and ambiance items: one juke and ambiance up top in the main living room area, one ambiance in the bedroom up there. Then on the bottom, when you exit the elevator and go through the first open courtyard, up above the stairs on that ledge are three fireworks launchers. And then in the cantina is another juke box. Really adds to the whole experience. The top deck (all rooms) is about 90% done, just need to add some more personnel and a few little things. The bottom room right outside the elevator is done, love it. Kind of an fashionable sitting courtyard. The outside courtyard just after, my sculptures courtyard, is about 75% done, really like it too. Where the canpopys are, Im going to put an appearance changing station in each. Not much done on that next level. Then is the long narrow room, which I turned into a cool, funky cantina. Thats also about 90% done. The courtyard after with the three rooms, thats about 65% done, lots of cool stuff to explore there: an armory, a Jedi meditation room (did some unique things there) and the barracks. Up top at the perimeter, barely touched but I do have a fun start going in that perimeter tent. Kind of like a perimeter HQ center. All of this is fueled by a specfic story driven approach which can be found in my post on page two of the recent "drama of decorating" thread in here. Hope you like it! Above all, hope with what little I have, you have fun. Grab and drink and enjoy. Jin
  12. I want to get it high enough to get those Massai guards as decor. It took me an hour do the Revan daily and a few others to barely move the needle on reputation. Are there certain dailies/weeklies/quests that are a better path than others? Duffy just lists all the daily and weeklies which will take me until 2020 to complete. Thoughts? Ideas? Gracias Jin
  13. So your approach is, sure, skim of the top, no big? Really? I dont care if its 10 credits, thats not good game design and is, in fact, very bad game design, if that is happening. The EA money sink has been out of control since launch, something like this is not ok. Again, if its happening.
  14. Before I dive in, where do you all grind decorations? What is the best path to get lots of decor goodies? Ive been doing solo Star Fortress story mode, but rarely anything new comes up anymore. In terms of decorating, for me, its all about the story. And for me, that story dates way back to the days of SW Galaxies. It was the first ever video game I played. Decorating was a big deal in that game. And in that game, you could write a little bio that other players could read if they clicked on you. That was the birth of Jinook Phi from The House Of Phi- Alderaan. Ive used that name for every SW game Ive ever played and even had a blog going a bunch of years ago. When I arrived to SWTOR, the whole legacy thing, I decided to alter the backstory a bit. Essentially, a smuggler by the name of Gritz Reevo fell in love with a Alderaanean royal. He had to take her name when they got married, so he added the name "Phi", begruddingly. They had two sons that were very different boys, Jinook and Bubka or "Bubba" as he came to be called. When the boys where young teens, an Imperial Agent set fire to their home to cover her tracks on one of her missions. The House of Phi had developed a very advanced cloaking tech that The Empire wanted. Gritz was badly burned, he lost his wife to the fire and was never the same again. Jinook grew up to become a Master Jedi and is all about doing the right thing. Bubba became a famed Bounty Hunter and in spite of his dubious profession, also "usually" does the right thing. Usually is more negoitable with Bubba, though. And he prefers rockets to flame throwers for obvious reasons. Gritz in the meantime, wandered the galaxy, became a rather well known smuggler in his own right but when his son, Jinook, took over the Galactic Alliance, he was all in. He bought a huge casa in a remote part of Tattoine, which acts as Jin's informal command center when he's not on Odessen. Ok, so now you know the backstory which is what 100% informs my decor choices. Im only 37% decorated but I really like what I have done so far. Its on Old Droggo server I think? Open to da public. Being it's Gritz's home but Jin's command when not at HQ, it refects that. Top Deck - A strong Alliance military presence in the lobby leading into the living room. -The living room is well appointed and designed for entertaining. A fellow Master Jedi is there at all times, just in case. The a juke box can be turned on for ambiance. -To one side is the commerce room and repair shop. Thats where all the jawas hang out to sell their wares, a legacy and standard storage lockers, GTN and mail terminals and a repair/modification bench. -On the other side is Gritz's bedroom which Jin sometimes uses, cozy but work friendly. I lovely waterfall backdrop to the bed, a fireplace, a nice place to drink too much Corellian ale. Bottom Deck -The small room outside of the elevator is kind of a magical room, hologrgam colorful treets, a foundtain, just a great place for guests to hang out and chat. -When you leave there, you enter out sculpture garden, still under development but impressive nonetheless. Guards keep watch on the hangar door. -Just up the way is our base cantina, filled with dancers and good times. There you will find plenty of reminders of our victories against Arcann, given all the trooper corpses that adorn the bar. -If you are a civilian, it is recommended that you not really explore any further. But if you do dare to wander, you will find our military quarters which includes our highly protected armory, our barracks and our Jedi Meditation temple. As well, we have the latest turret technology protecting the Reevo Casa (and part time Phi command center). I am really enjoying doing all this, especially because it ties a specific backstory.
  15. Im in Austin, Texas and i got an brunch kinda thing at The Alamo Drafthouse on Friday am, then another set for Friday PM at The Regal. Super pumped about the movie. I saw Force Awakens six times- lol. What you?
  16. Cool post, OP with some cool links. I really love Rebels, lots of depth. S2 has some EPIC episodes
  17. LOL- man, Im glad I asked! I was about to rush grind for not good stuff. Any word on where we'll be able to grind for decor or too early to know? I guess I'll just get caught up on the chapters. I just finished Chp 12. Or maybe hit up the fotrresses a few more times for decor. As of nine months ago, the fortresses started dropping all the same decor, ive been gone awhile. Thanks for all the thoughts
  18. Beyond what some in this thread have done an excellent job documenting, esp the RNG component to include the Cartel Con, not nearly enough has been said about the loss of our original companions. It demonstrates a total lack of integrity, A to Z. The producer can write letters until we're all blue in the face, if the BASE INTEGRITY is not there, the words are hollow, all lies. Anytime you have players invest years, not months, but years in a component of your game and you casually toss that element aside, those are not people who have integrity. In this case, Im referring to companions, but it could apply to anything that a player has spent years investing in, only to have it ditched. THAT kind of decision making, that kind of thinking, is toxic.
  19. Thanks for all the feedback and the link, Jewel. Ive not played for 8-9 months I guess, WOW, a lot is changing. So Fortress solos will just be for decor, i guess. So the next top level is 234, wonder if they will bump up Fortress difficulties. Ive yet to solo HM Fortress, the regular ones are super easy with my current gear. I just want to be able to solo fun content while getting decor- LOL. So if 224 was the high end with 220 gear purchasable on the AH, Im assuming that becomes 230 is purchasable. I dont have many radioant right now, guess there is no reason to run those missions being 5.0 is out in a few days.
  20. Also, your new speeder pic is JUST WRONG!! LOL
  21. Thats exactly what it looks like! But the Nvidia green portal thing says I am curent. Other ways to check or download the latest driver?
