  1. You guys are all overthinking this too much... As I said it will be an easy fix just to modify Acid Blade to 60% Armor Pen and put a stackable Direct damage instead of DoT on the ability and make it triggered by each melee hit. Essentially, this should act like a Poison, similar WoW Rogue Poison or DAOC Stealther poison, etc. 31 talent point skill should do a whole a lot more than 30% AP and a mediocre DoT which is only triggered by 2 abilities and one is dependent on Stealth. EDIT: Thisnk of Carnage Marauder Ataru procs from Massacre. In this case the Marauder is guaranteed to trigger a proc damage from ataru form when they use Massacre. This should be the same concept for Acib Blade only then Acid Blade direct damage should be a stackable damage to avoid heavy damage from openers, which was what everyone complained about.
  2. The way to fix Concealment DPS is to make Acid Blade 60% AP, and make it a stackable Direct Damage which triggers by all melee attacks. So it would be 250-350 Dmg which stacks 3 times and is triggered by each melee hit. Also, there is a bug with Acid Blade DoT where if you AB>HS>BS, Acid Blade DoT from BS doesn't trigger. Even if you wait till the DoT from HS is over and BS, AB DoT still doesn't trigger. In order to get AB DoT to trigger you have to cast AB before you BS, which is I believe a bug.
  3. Hi Allison, Thank you so much for clarifying this topic around new gear. Could you also, if at all possible, tell us if his Recruit Mk-2 tier will be equivalent of Battlemaster gear? If so, then I assume WH will be available by Warzone commendations and the New Tier that will be offered when Ancient Gates goes live will be available via Rated Coms. Could you confirm or deny? Thanks.
  4. Allison, If at all possible, can we get a confirmation on if there will be a new tier of PvP armor being intruduced when the new Warzone releases? Personally, I am ok with the addition of New Tier Armor so long as the War Hero set will be available via Warzone Commendations...
  5. Thank you for providing rather contructive feedback and discussion. Although Pyrotech AP talent works on only one ability, Rail Shot, this ability is being used multiple times during a typical fight due to the fact that there are two skills that reset the CD of Rail Shot. Also, not to forget that Pyrotechs achieve 90% AP via another talent. So, no, I don't believe a 60% AP, while Acid Blade is up, on melee hits is overpowered. To clarify as well, I meant that Acid Blade AP should/must work on every melee hit and not only on Bacstab/Hidden Strike. Next, I feel like my Operative has better survivability then my Marauder, especially if one is to spec into reducing the cast time Kolto Injection. It is much more easier for me to slip away from the battle, heal up, and get right back to the action. Also, we shouldn't fortget Toxin Scan which works wonders againt certain classes. I agree that better group Utility can be achieved with the addition of a skill or two. However, what Operatives/Scoundrels are missing in my opinion is "pure damage" and not bursty damage I am talking about but rather, constant and pressuring damage. This is why I believe a stacking direct damage component of Acid Blade will provide much better damage improvement during the 12 seconds when the Backstab is on CD.
  6. So your point is? Oh I see, you are just lacking ideas, improvements, or contructive feedback... Troll along.
  7. How nice it must be for you. I play on Jung Ma with 4 toons above level 44 and there was about 130 people on fleet last night. WZs queues taking on average 10 mins and Group Finder even longer... Sucky server is sucky.
  8. I am not proposing to make them OP as this is very clear. First of all, a slow build up-stacking damage ensures that after Hidden Strike/Backstab is used, Operatives are not hitting like wet noodles. Second, there are enough CDs in Operative disposal to not warrant addition of another CD related skill. Third, yes I propose a damage increase as clearly this is where I believe Operatives are lacking. Finally, thank you for adding nothing of value to the discussion. Carry on.
  9. I recently started playing my operative to take a break from my Marauder as I feel like my Marauder is in a good place overall in terms of damage and gear. What I noticed on my Operative, immediately, is that the last skill in the Concealment tree has many flaws. First of all, the DoT from Acid Blade is only triggered by two abilities and one of these abilities is only usable from stealth. Also, the DoT damage from Acid Blade is very weak when compared to other classes 31 point talents. 30% Armor Pen is not adequate when you give 60% Armor Pen in the first tier for Powertechs. I feel that, based on my experience playing a Valor Rank 70 Marauder and 63 Operative, Operatives could be competitive with Marauders and Pyrotechs, damage wise, if the following changes are made; 1) Acid Blade Armor Penetration is increased from 30% to 60%. 2) Acid Blade now triggers a direct damage poison that deals 250-350 dmg with each melee hit. stacks up to 3 times.
  10. I tbelieve the guy you quoted already answered your questions in a logical way that you can't deny, really... Tha only think you are entitled to is to be able to login to the game with your $15/month. Unfortunately, your, mine, or anyone else's $15/month doesn't let us in to the inner circles of Bioware where they talk/discuss about the future strategies of SWTOR... Also, I couldn't help myself, but what you are asking for and what you have been getting since the game went live are two different things. It shouldn't take a genius to realize, whatever it is that they might have promised before go-live, is not something you are going to get based on the live experiences in the game. You are going to, more than likely, get new flashpoints, new warzones, new Ops. I would be very very suprised if they introduce an open world PvP sand box planet, or anything that is remotely revolutionary anytime soon.
  11. Roll up a fat one. Go to You Tube Type "Epic Music" Get in a Warzone. You are welcome.
  12. Would really like to get some response to this issue.
  13. totally agreed. Something like this should probably take like an hour to fix... Yet it has a huge impact on WZs and providing an equal playing field.
  14. You are welcome. It is so much easier to almost fully optimize Rep toons then it is Imp toons as an Imp player must wait for War Hero gear, and then get multiple pieces of same War Hero gear, to achieve similar results. It takes about 10x longer for an Imp player and it is, in my book, the very definition of "unfair"...
  15. That Reps get access to Advanced Adept Enhancement 25, which is a Power/Surge Enhancement that can be ripped out from a Battlemaster piece, yet Imps don't have access to this Enhancement until War Hero gear? This gives a huge advantage to Rep toons as they can very easily grab 6 of these bad boys to get very competitive levels of power/surge. There MUST be an equal offering for Imps on a piece of Battlemaster gear. EDIT: I hope one of the community representatives, who seem to be very active on the forums today, can take this up to the devs and get it fixed as soon as possible.
  16. To be completely honest, and this is no offense to you, Shadow/Assassin videos are pretty boring as I feel like their combat animations are lacking... Instead of focusing on fights, be it 1v1 or 1v2, I feel like this could be a much more entertaining video if you focused on clutch plays, like the one where you got the ball in huttball by enemy goal line and scored.
  17. Enough already with this silence in regards to Paid Transfers. I love this game and have been playing since release. I absolutely enjoy the animated combat, warzones, and PvP in general. I log in everyday for about 2-3 hours to relax and enjoy playing some Warzones. I have 4 near 50 toons in Jung Ma that is losing population every day. Just last night we had barely over 100 people in the fleet and Warzone queues takes anywhere between 10-25 minutes to pop. I am spending more time "waiting" then "playing"... I am even willing to transfer all 4 toons so that I do not losing on all the class buffs, but with no news being communicated about potential Paid Transfer Service, I am about to give up and cancel my sub... Can you please, at least, give us any information in regards to Paid Transfers?
  18. I think you are right to a certain extend. I agree with you that the genre of MMOs are moving in the direction for "non-gamer gamers" as you put it. However, I also believe we are in the midst of a shift in direction for the genre. Mainly due to two major events in the past 10 years. first is WoW's commercial success, which attracted a whole host of major companies to invest in MMOs. Second is the utter failure of SWTOR to be as successful as it's main competitor given their budget. I believe the second bit, will be the nail in the coffin of WoW era MMOs. Change is scary, and unknown for the most part. Believe me, I work in deploying new IT Solutions for enterprise level applications and no matter if the new application will make life's of people 100x times more easier and their time spend more efficient, people will absolutely fight to the very end about not replacing their existing system. So here we are in the middle of the most horrendous failure in MMORPG history and with every major event comes change. I am very interested in where the SWTOR F2P model will land in the realm of F2P MMORPGs. However, I am truely hoping that this game will finally be one of the first of it's kind where there is a middle ground between time spend vs. $$ invested in Game Shop. I believe there is a very good chance that this game will grow further if they can implement a solid F2P model. They also need to be careful and courages enough to not upset the true MMORPG fans but yet be willing to give incentives for "non gamer gamers" to invest in the Game Shop via $$.
  19. I wouldn't get too worried about a potential price hike of subscription cost for the future for the same amount of content you are getting now, just yet. Here is what will happen more then likely, again this is based on my experience and not actualities on how EA is planning this whole thing out; SWTOR goes F2P with some fluff items, access to WZs, and OPs via Game Shop Based on how many players F2P attracts, there will be either new content developed next once the F2P structure is established or if the F2P fails to attract enough players, there will be more rewards offered via Game Shop (such as gear, etc) to give even more incentive for people to spend money. I believe regardless of which ever model you support, be it Sub only or F2P, it will be in the best interest of both parties to wish success for the F2P model. Because if F2P is successful and attracts more customer, this will only benefit everyone as more customers means more money for the company to devote to the game. Just to clarify my views on this, I am absolutely not against even offering Gear that can be obtained via raiding or PvP for money through game shop. I think it only makes sense to offer this it will also attract a ton of new customers who do not have enough time to bare the grindiness of certain aspects of MMOs.
  20. From my experience, and I have been playing MMOs since UO, once a game goes F2P, profit planning and forecasting will be mainly driven by F2P model. This means that before EA/Bioware spend any more time, resource, and money on developing new content, they must spend those resources on planning the F2P model to it's fullest effect. For example, why would they have any incentive to add new content for people who are already subbed, and stayed subbed for this long, before they can make all these attractive new options via F2P model for the "projected" 1 to 2 million players who are supposed to be playing SWTOR because of this new model? I will bet any amount of money that if this F2P is even renmotely successful, a lot of things that now require time invested will also be available for $$ invested through Game Shop.
  21. If you haven't realized this already, (I don't know how not) but you and people like you are considered "colleteral damage" in the name of F2P model of SWTOR. The game is headed towards being a super casual friendly single player game with some multi player aspects, which you will have access to by Cartel Coins. I believe the time for MMO players to move onto next MMORPG is here.
  22. I believe you really need to drop the sad attempt to use real life sports analogies to support your case, because simply put, it is working against you. For example, you say that; So like, buying better shoulder pads, shoes, helmets, etc for your team? Or buying state of the art hockey equipment with money? Or, like, I don't know, maybe buying a better baseball bat, helmet, cuffs, etc? Again, your argument is very weak as real life sports analogies are working very much against you. It is really a sad attempt to state your opinion which pretty much goes something like this " I played since release and did my grind to have as much advantage as possible be it having the best PvP gear, all the datacrons, etc. I don't believe someone who purchased the game yesterday should be able to accomplish all what I accomplished by "buying" this stuff with money because they have to ear it by spendig as much time as I had" To me personally, that line of thinking is non sense because it is hypocritical due to the fact that it is ok for you to have all this advantage simply because you have over abundance of a resource called "time" yet it shouldn't be possible for people who have over abundance of another type of resource called "money" to acquire things to be at the same playing field as you are. So in reality, you just like to have an unfair advantage over others because, well, you like taking advantage of this unfair advantage...
  23. Oh I see, so you are making things up as you go along. Noted. You are wrong. Those advantages translate to certain skills a player might develop over time by playing, or having a natural advantage over other's by virtue of DNA and/or good genetics. Those advantages DO NOT translate into having better shoulder pads, shoes, helmet, a.k.a Gear. So, you can actually compare the two quite effectively as Gear in an MMO contributes to exact same fundementals as gear in sports. No you are wrong, again. An NFL team with a playoff bye has an advantage by displaying better skills and performing better then the rest in a playing field with EQUALLY gered opponents. An MMO player with T2 or T3 PvP gear has an advantage that has been earned through dedicating more time then the rest by playing There is no advantage that is purchased as a person can only purchase what is also available to other's and can be obtained by devoting time instead. More blah blah blah... I apoligize in advance as I don't have the "time" and will to absolutely destroy you logic in every post you make from now on as I feel pretty comfortable that you are just making s*** up as you go along thus effectively making you a "troll"...
  24. Your examples makes no sense whatsoever. So according to you, NFL players should only be able to acquire gear (a.k.a shoulder pads, helmets, shoes, etc) by playing football matches and those equipment should not be able to be purchased by money because they didn't "earn" the gear by playing football. Again, buying "gear" in an MMO to be able to compete in an equal playing field should be absolutely possible. I am not arguing for buying a Rank 1 Rated Warzone team with money.
  25. I am not quoting the rest of your post as it was full of contradictions in it's own context. You made many lethal flaws in your arguments and ultimately, failed miserably to try and hide your ever obvious bias towards the current system. On the other hand, your last pharagraph illustrates perfectly that, you are "ok" with the situation you described solely because you have much more time to play rather then money to spend on the game. Which brings me to my last question, are you ok with the game that all things equal person A can spend 12 hours to get gear X and person B can spend $20 to get gear X?
